Early start this morning to take the van to the dealer for its annual check up. Hopefully pick the van up on Friday then go away for the week.
Drizzle with high winds so far this morning.

I'm here as well @Bakers2 - with the same weather as everyone else, by the sound of it. Lights on most of the day - so grey, wet and dreary. The wood-burner's eating logs like they're going out of fashion!! Still - won't be long now before we alter the clocks and we've turned a corner, weather-wise (hopefully😀). Managed to book a week at our favourite CL in March - see you soon, Nicola - @Skybarn Farm CL and Easter booked at our favourite CS, near Malton - so we have those trips to look forward to😁

Not too bad here in Glasgow, a bit chilly, some sun earlier, grey now, but at least it has been dry. It’s our bin day tomorrow so OH has kept me busy gathering all the recycling as I will be out this evening. We had our main meal at 2pm rather than an early dinner at 5pm, so just a coffee later before I go out.

Trying to plan some time away in the caravan at Easter, but need DD & Co to decide where they want to go before we can book anything. We have decided on a trip to Islay in the summer, without caravan but with DD & Co, so they are supposed to be doing the ferry bookings, will need to check they are getting on with it.

One job completed from OH’s list…..an extra shelf in the granny flat kitchen…..and it has been taken into use immediately. We use that kitchen for extra storage, plus there is a lot of MIL’s stuff still through there, things that are too sentimental to give away, things that DD and DS may want eventually. I also have a couple of cupboards there for storing my turned items, and my laser table for marking them with my logo. The fridge we use for drinks, and we also use the small freezer when necessary.

Good to read posts on here today. Sounds like most of us are awaiting longer days and less greyness.

I didn't just mean this thread but others,or lack of them. There's been new names appearing as posters but it's not resulting in many new threads or replies. Hopefully once those who don't tour all year venture out again conversations will recommence?

Haven't posted for a little while, but reading about the weather in various places up and down the country, it would appear that we've been quite lucky "up North". Been at Meathop since last Wednesday and apart from a little rain in the early hours yesterday morning, it has been dry every day. It has been cold, and quite windy on a few days, but last Wednesday and Thursday it was really nice, blue skies and sunshine. Home tomorrow, but forecast still looking quite reasonable.

Early morning shopping with OH at Tesco. There was more Staff than customers, a reflection of how noticeable prices in that "Every Little Helps" store have increased markedly in recent weeks. OH went there last week with her mother for exercise and said she was fed up hearing the phrase "HOW MUCH?" such was MiLs shock.

Btw, has anyone checked out Cushelle toilet roll recently. It was pointed out to me today. The Rhubarb and Raspberry scented one!😱 Apparently there was a torn one last week and several shoppers gagged, including the ladies, when they smelt it. Who on earth thinks that these would be in favour and why do you need "flavoured" loo rolls?

They're still competing noise wise either side of us. Will have to go out tomorrow, probably take MiL to her appointment and have a mooch while I wait in the library.

@InaD you certainly pick the right time to visit Meathop with regards to the weather as we have been lucky to miss most of the rain or snow that others have experienced. Glad you had a good time and hope you have a safe tow back home.

@Oneputt hope there is nothing wrong found during the caravan's service and you are able to get away for your trip.

@Bakers2 we certainly seem to have been in the right places for the last two weeks of so. It is a pity that others have had such unsettled weather. Although it is still rather chilly with a cutting/lazy wind it had been dry and sunny for some of the time. OH decided that it promised to be a good day for washing so another round was done and that dried outside too. Dental appointments tomorrow for both of us, with our half yearly checkup with the dentist and a session with the hygienist. We certainly know how to enjoy ourselves!

WE at the risk of being boring.....

It didn't get light yesterday. Today is very overcast, thick cloud and damp. Seems like we have puddles too.....

Could those of you who can blow very hard to see if you can shift this cloud? PLEASE

Makes little difference to us today as once routine stuff done it's into the city. Eye tests for each, a trip to the building society, might go to the bank 🫣🤣. Other odd jobs that can only be achieved there. That won't be much as there's more closed than open 😢. Maybe a trip to the museum to see the Ladybird books......... I'm aiming at have our main meal out too.

ThThanks for posting photos, the sky is still blue then 🤣

Double letters are still an intermittent issue...

Very grey here and very cold yesterday. I’ve got a small tree that needs pruning before the leaves come so just may try to do that today, but will wrap up warm first. Three more hospital appointments this week, so a welcome day off today. Surgery booked for Monday, really not looking forward to that. Then after, the surgeon is saying radiology and possibly chemotherapy. So not much to look forward to at present. Hoping we can get back to the caravan in early summer. Enjoying reading everyone’s news, so as Bakers says, keep it coming.

Drizzle and grey skies here in N Warks.

Just taken the caravan in for warranty work to be done this morning.... replacement awning light (a couple of 'cells' have gone); problem with the door lock; screw come out of washroom mirror (I can't get it back in properly - it won't 'catch'). I'll await the phone call to collect it when ready.... shouldn't take them too long.... but I guess it depends on what else is going on there today..

Waiting for a heating engineer who should be here any minute. Off to town this afternoon for MiL appointment.

Blooming cold out there and dull with rain in the air.

@DEBSC - we're thinking about you and sending our best wishes. Must be over 20 years ago now, that Ros had to have surgery twice, followed by radiotherapy each time. She was really tired after the radiotherapy and found it exhausting. That said, she's absolutely fine now with no hint of any further problems.

Busy morning for me tomorrow - Dr's for blood tests first thing followed by X-rays - fortunately at our local little hospital which is next door to the surgery. Let's hope they can find out what's happening with my hip and my foot where the main joint of my big toe is so swollen that there's bone that looks as if it's going to puncture the skin!! Makes walking a bit of a problem at the moment. Oh, the joys of getting old😀

@nelliethehooker thank you, we had an uneventful trip home. It did actually rain a little as we started to pack up, but fortunately it wasn't much and didn't persevere. Very cloudy though when we left.

@DEBSC I'm really sorry to hear your news and wish you all the best for Monday. Can understand you're very anxious. My thoughts are with you and very best wishes for a good outcome.

Best of wishes from me too @DEBSC hope all goes well and that the follow-up treatments are not too exhausting for you.

@InaD pleased to hear that you got home without any trouble.

@richardandros fingers crossed that the examination reveals the problems, that they can be sorted out in a short while and that they do not impinge on your planned trips.

Hope the problems with the caravan are soon rectified @DSB and it won't be too long before you head off in it again.

@Bakers2 hate to tell you but it was still dry for most of the day with just some very light drizzle but not enough to dampen the ground. It was still rather grey with an odd glimpse of blue sky and quite chilly though. Our visits to the dentist and hygienist went without any further action required, so that is it for at least 3 months hopefully.

Don't know if it is just my kindle but this site has been very slow tonight so I have had to revert to typing this on my phone.

we stayed at Broadway a couple of summers ago we really liked it so handy for the town and an unusual site with the train running along the back and the engine shed still there. We really enjoyed it had a great time and an easy walk to the pubs and shops in towns

Thank you all for your kind words. Especially good to hear that Ros is now fit and well. I hope that your hip and foot problem soon gets sorted Richard. What a pleasant forum this is, thank you for all your support everyone. Tree in garden now pruned right back and looking much better, I did need a little help from OH though. I’m now envious DSB, I love Broadway and the surrounding villages. Can I recommend a meal at the Snowshill Arms in Snowshill, we have been visiting the pub for over 30 years, always good. Traditional village pub, food good but not fancy but then neither is the price, a very good atmosphere where lots of locals go. The Broadway Hotel is good for popping in for a pot of tea in the afternoon.

Thanks for the advice aoiut Broadway @DEBSC and @Francis . Sadly, plans have changed a just a little. When I came to book a serviced pitch, Broadway was full for one of the nights, so we've booked in for Moreton-in-Marsh, close by.... it was either change sites, or get out the aquaroll and wastemaster, which we rarely use these days (and we don't keep in the caravan any more). 😀

It's been 30 odd year since we've been to Moreton CAMC site.... in fact, if my memory serves me, I think it was the first CAMC site we ever visited back in 1991... I remember visiting Snowshill Manor when we visited Moreton all those years ago.. I may well put Broadway on the list for the autumn..... I'm sure I'll remember the Snowshill Arms and the Broadway Hotel... 😀

Sorry DSB, I’m not trying to be your tour guide but if in Moreton then the local fish and chip shop knows how to cook them. The big Garden Centre just up the road, can’t remember the name, but the one on the right hand side on the road to Stow (they are building lots of houses opposite) is great for a browse, not just garden stuff, and their day time restaurant, Timothy’s I think, is excellent.

Just catching up after a few days away, and sorry to hear about your news @DEBSC . Try not to worry, I am sure you will get very well looked after, my OH had a Cancer op back in late October, and his care and recovery was fabulous. Wishing you all the very best. If Cancer care is anything to go with by how my OH is being looked after, it seems to be a lot, lot better than other areas of of the NHS at the moment, so hoping it’s the same for you down in Devon. 💐 Virtual flowers for you, they aren’t allowed on the Wards.

Frustrating few days here, like a lot of others, weather wet, cold and grey. Too wet to get outside. We have our fence posts and gravel boards, and wooden panels are being made, so it will be all systems go once it dries up a bit. I’m off to Mum’s today,

Catching up with news from others as well. Best wishes to others having ops, treatment etc…

@Wherenext Farmfoods…….12 T Rolls a pack, 5 x 12 for £20 Kerrching🤩 Bargain. Not scented though🤣 Aldi used to do scented ones, but even their’s are expensive nowadays. I like a wander round our Farmfoods every once in a while, you can get some good bulk buy bargains. Cheap enough to shove down the loo anyhow🤣 Good quality as well👍

@DSB sorry you had to move your booking we have never stayed at Moreton but did visit the town when we were at Broadway and it was a lovely place if your interested there is a brilliant little WW2 museum just up the road from the club site before you get to the town it’s quite small but lots of interesting exhibits well with a visit. I also recommend the Broadway Hotel if your in Broadway we went there for a drink almost every night when we stayed at the Broadway site

@DEBSC all the very best with your op and recovery

Made a start on fitting a couple of stainless steel effect splashbacks in the kitchen yesterday. First there had to be lots of discussion on exactly how the finished job should look, and how to achieve it, so no actual work done as yet. Will come back to it on Friday as we have 2 days of looking after the boys first.

Very cold here again today, and grey, no sun. DD has booked a serviced pitch for 6 nights at Seton Sands, Edinburgh, in April, great site for the children, and plenty to see in the area. We will move from there to East Fortune for 4 nights to visit friends, then probably head south for a couple of weeks, not getting home till the end of April.

DEBSC, best wishes from us for your op and follow up treatment, hope you will soon be feeling better and able to visit your van again.
