I have to say I'm a little jealous of all you people out there who are camping over the holidays,

surprised I have to say that I cannot think of anything less appealing if in the U.K.

I noticed that its only the caravan pitches that are empty where we store our c/van,maybe its because most motor caravan owners feel restricted when the weather is less than, favorable (fair weather)wink

Not restricted, JVB, but when it's cold and wet I prefer being in the luxury of home, meeting up with friends and family, and a few runs out on one of my motorbikes with my 'Hells Anginas' pals  wink The motorhome is just another boy's toy for touring abroad when the fancy takes me.

    Chacun .. ....  ....., so forth.

Not at all JVB66, we tour in all season, not long got back from a week away. We just don't go away when they are charging silly priceswink we will more than likely off once the silly season is over and everyone is tucked up back at work and home.laughinglaughing we do like a bit of space to ourselves.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

We had a nice meal with our son and family and stayed over till the 26th, then dropped in past DD on our way home to deliver presents

Very cold, some snow on higher ground, but not here, though hard frost and a lot of ice everywhere,

DD was here today to leave her car for me to fit Isofix brackets for attaching a baby seat.

DS is giving her their cot bed, which needed a small repair, so we have brought it here and I am working on it.

Also got our old  cot  from the loft to measure up for a new mattress.

    Plenty to keep me busy!

2 sunny days here, so able to do without CH during the day.

So sorry to her that your Mums are not well Tammygirl and Brue. I hope they recover soon. It is such a difficult time of year for older people.  I hope you have a good trip to NZ Bakers2 and that all goes well for your journey with no snow.

We have returned today from a wonderful 5 days with our youngest son, DIL and 2 grandchildren in N. Ireland. Lots of socialising with their friends and neighbours, a lovely family day on Christmas Day and a bracing Boxing Day walk in bright but extremely cold sunshine. Luckily we flew into East Midlands today as Stansted was closed at times. It was very cold and icy when we landed and there was a lot of snow around Melton Mowbray and Oakham on the drive home but luckily the roads were clear. The heating was switched up as soon as we got into the house. The cats were very relieved. laughing

Glad your home safe milliehull and that you had a good time.

Just come to bed myself, checked the alarm again and added another 😲 if you stir around 4am think of me.

Had an email to say take off now 1020 not 1000 so hopefully that's it. Think ice could be a problem but our gritters have done sterling work so hopefully others have too.

Thanks for all your good wishes if I have a few minutes/spare energy I'll pop on and have a read and see what you're all up too. Have a great time home or away, stay safe and warm and in case I don't get on again happy new year to one and all.

Have a good and safe trip Bakers.

Glad you had a good time MH, and a safe trip home.

Manage to spend most of the afternoon looking at furniture and new TV's but didn't buy anything, getting good at this either that or I'm getting very fussy in my old age wink

We asked them when inside the shop and they told us it was further down the road.

If it is still there, the staff inside didn't seem to know. They told us to walk further down the road and we would come to it.

It was / is further, about 20 metres down the road that runs to the right hand side of the shop towards the harbour.

    Edit Posts crossed.

TV was certainly an easier decision than the furniture. When Margaret retired (10 years ago) she was determined to buy a new three piece suite. We finally managed to get round to it this year!!!

We didn't see it. The one we found was on the left hand side of the road, same side as McColls but about about 300 yards further down past the next junction and built into the wall by the houses there.

Lots of rain yesterday.  Roof is leaking today.  Workmen in to fix it (all being well) tomorrow.  Just what we needed this time of the year!!!

Just got up. It's still dark outside but we can see ITV Good Morning Britain is back on, so we no longer have to rely on BBC for breakfast tv but Piers Morgan is still absent!

    Have a fantastic trip B2.

Hard frost this morning, have to wander down to the doctors at 8am for a dressing change, then the rest of the day at home.

We're having breakfast now. Weetabix with milk and sultanas for starters followed by Cumberland sausages with baked beans and of course, a cup of tea and toast.

Surely, it would be the practice nurse that would do that, Oneputt? If so it shouldn't take long. I always find that nurse appointments are quick but an afternoon appointment with a doctor is a different story. There have been occasions when even though I'm on time, I have been kept waiting in the waiting room for 45 minutes to an hour because they're running late.

It's gradually getting light here now and it looks like a blue sky, so maybe sunshine today! Another 20 minutes to sunrise.

When Fliss moved in with me she wanted 2 things. A new bathroom and a new 3 piece suite. It took 2 years to find a suit that we both felt comfortable with

Bright and very cold with a hard frost here today.  We are off to do some food shopping as our local children and grandchildren are coming for 'Christmas' here on Saturday.  We have decided a buffet will be best as there will be 12 of us so too many to sit round our table.  We are taking 2 of the grandchildren to the pantomime tomorrow afternoon. Hope everyone has a good day and keeps warm.

Sorry to hear about your roof David.  Why do these things always go wrong at this time of year?!

Very frosty here, we went to the panto last night, Cinderella at the Ocatgon in Yeovil. One of the best I've seen, Cinderella's coach and white horse moved out towards the audience, very clever.

We're both feeling pretty grim with colds and coughs so that was a big effort last night, going to try and get some rest now.
