We went to see War Horse at Bristol Hippodrome last night; as always a brilliantly performed and very moving show. While we were there we bought tickets for Beautiful (the Carol King show) and Miss Saigon for next year.

The only problem in getting into Bristol is the constant change to the road system. The M32 is a nightmare at the moment and the new bus gates make it difficult to get back out again. They really don't like cars in Bristol! yell

Just had excellent 3 day stay at Morris Leisure  Llanberis. Despite weather forecast it turned out OK. Superb site in stupendous location. Will be trying their other sites once the school hols are over. They have a great offer now and 5*sites.

Set out to polish the MH roof today. It's taken so long to clean the grime from around all the hatches that I felt too knackered after to set about the polishing bit. Perhaps tomorrow.

Years ago we went to the Bridgnorth site which we enjoyed, and the Shrewsbury site which we didn't (the wardens were unhelpful). It's been years ago now though, so no doubt things have changed, but they appear to have a fairly good reputation.

Decided to have a few days away in the m/h in November, problem is most of the C&MC sites close on the 6th frown There will be 13 sites open after the 6th, only 4 of them are C&MC sites the others are AS. Out of  the 4 that are open only 2 of them would I wish to go back to again. Time me thinks to look elsewhere for sites, don't want to go more than a couple of hours away at the moment, just want to get away for a few days with the new bikes and give them a good test.

Been a lovely day weather wise here quite warm in the sun, just having a chill out day as we were up early this morning helping the kids pack the car and sorting 2 tired Gkids to eat breakfast and get dressed.

If its a nice day tomorrow I think m/h washing is on the cards and a bit of gardening.

Enjoy your wedding anniversary celebrations with your son and his girlfriend Helen and Trevor.

Have a great evening goldie and enjoy your lie-in in the hotel.

Best of luck with the decorating Kjnn. I am sure your daughter is very grateful. You must be very excited about the new arrival due in March.

We spent the morning at the hospital for Mr H's endoscopy appt. It was part of the investigation into his pernicious anemia. They found absolutely nothing but took a couple of biopsies just to make sure. We are both relived it is over and done with. We are most impressed with the efficiency of the NHS. We are off for a few days in N.Ireland next week to see youngest son and family as it is their half term.

It is a very good site, some pictures here . Morris Leisure sites are very much like Club sites so most will feel at home. My only gripe about the Llanberis site is that it doesn't have an open grill for motorhome waste which surprised me given that it's such a new site.

B2, I'm sure I'll get round to doing a review of the site, however I think it will be a short one instead of my usual essay.wink

We've visited the site we're on now before, but it was quite a while ago so plenty for us to do here. Yesterday we went to Fairleigh Hungerford Castle and then onto Bradford-on-Avon for a walk along the canal and a wander round the town vising the Saxon Church & the Tithe Barn. Today was bright and sunny so we went to Stourhead to see the Autumn colours. We didn't think that they were as eyecatching as in past years, which may well be because there's been no frost yet and also many of the leaves have been blasted off during the recent storms. As we couldn't take Flyte round the gardens we then went up to Alfred's Tower for a walk. Still nice and warm when we got back to the van so had an hour sat out reading before dinner. I suspect that will be the last time I manage that this year.

Up early this am.The WRC rally is going through the village. Everyone keeping to speed limit but the Turbos are not happy going at low speeds. Plenty of flames and banging coming from them. No complaints its a big event for us in Wales.

Certainly for the rest of us it used to be better in earlier years, when it was badged the RAC rally. Then the first day used to be the spectator stages in the parks, such as Clumber and Chatsworth, before they went off to the forests of Northumberland, Wales or Cumbria. We went for many years with the kids, always great entertainment and often a historical rally preceded the main event. Watching The likes of Colin McRae doing 100 miles an hour on the tracks of Clumber, and the brake discs glowing cherry red as he decelerated harshly for a turn, remains firmly fixed in my memory.

Rather cold, fairly dull and windy here today. Totally different to yesterday, which was a glorious autumn day. We took a trip across to Chatsworth to visit the gardens and this years Sotheby's beyond limits sculpture exhibition. This year it was American artists and some were rather strange to say the least. A giant meatball covered with spaghetti for instance. Or the large black one pictured, looks like a crane, but titled the cave. However, the four squares of etched stainless steel, pictured, at the end of the lake were amazing. So finely balanced that they rotated and gyrated in the breeze, catching and reflecting the sun. ( I wonder what they did with it in the gales🤔)

The sculptures, wonderful tree colours and even a rainbow in the fountain, made for a great visit. Rounded off with a cream tea before the journey back.

Dull here today but dry, not too chilly either.

Starting to sort out m/h, just piled some stuff in the other day to get it out of the spare bedroom as the room was needed for the Malta crew.

Why is it when you go to put everything back there is always stuff missing, we put everything away in 3 different locations. Bedroom, garage, utility room, only now somethings seem to have walked yell

Meeting up with eldest son and his family tonight for a Halloween event in the town, then tomorrow they are heading back down the road as half term for them is over. Sister arrived back late last night from Australia so will pop in to see her later on.

Have a good weekend folks whatever you are doing.

Back in the day, in what now seems another life, I was part of a team that did Historic Rallying. A friend owned the car - a 1966 Mini - and he and my husband kept it on the road. I was the navigator and had the time of my life rattling through forests. The Historic stages were usually run before the big boys came  through and mangled the tracks. We were low down to the ground and I can stil hear the stones rattling beneath us.

I will look out some photos when I’m home.

Look forward to seeing them Goldie. I rember one historic one we watched, where on a turn on tarmac, many ended up in the Rhododendrons. When they had finished and we could go on the road I realised why, there was patchy black ice just before the turn. It had melted before the main event came through.

I wish you all the sort of good luck that I had today.

Pre-booked a Saturday afternoon tea for 5 to celebrate MOH birthday. Arrived in time only to be advised that although they had our reservation they were only doing lunches and diner today. Woops!

We were then offered  lunch, 3 courses, including wine on the house!

Guess who did not complain or demur?

Had a wonderful lunch, food was out of this world, MOH had a good birthday celebration - for free!

Busy day, spent the morning doing 2 runs to Ikea, at least we got pretty much all we needed.

DD had discovered the cupboard carcases she wanted were out of stock, so shehad decided to get all the smaller bits today.  Then she got a text to say new supplies had arrived, so we were able to get almost all she needed, plus she found a good office chair in the bargain corner!

Loaded up what would fit then I took the stuff to her place and her husband helped me unload, then went back for DD, OH and the rest of the stuff, so it was a late lunch.

Later we carried everything upstairs and started assembly.  One unit out of 3 done so far.

    Plenty left to do tomorrow.
