What are you all up to today? - part 3

Ordered a new replacement rear caravan light to replace the mysteriously broken one on our trip home yesterday.

Followed one on Ebay all day at £5.50......then it jumped to £49 plus postage in the last two minutes 

Ended up ordering a new one for £65.....

Stopping over in Dubai, in my way home from Kuwait after a weeks work. Temperature hit 62 degrees in the desert, with a 52 degree shade temp yesterday. Glad to be going home, but nice to keep up with the minutiae of CT when I'm away. 

Nice to be able to get a cold beer as well now, not allowed in Q8. Their caravans are made up of four legged beasts with humps and foul tempers....

So that's why you told me to get the weather sorted! 

Should have let us know you were coming - we did wave in your direction on the wat past this morning!

Big party down at Lligwy beach cafe tomorrow night - live music, craft ales and Welsh black beef burgers (don't think that means burnt!) on the menu if you like that sort of thing!

You didn't do a very good job. Grey and dismal for most of the day with that horrible fine drizzle for much of the time. Gave up and returned to the site and just to add insult to injury, the sun eventually comes out.

Thanks brue milliehull and Tammygirl baby arrived 26 June allegedly 11 days early weighing 7 lb 4 Oz .  Very quick arrival but as my daughter wanted unlike her first who got stuck and had to 'helped' out. She fine in every respect as far as we can tell,but
midwife picked up some fluid in  her kidney on one of the scans. Fridays ultrasound was to have a better look. Seems to still be fluid in her kidney so we're glad they keeping an eye on it. 'Scanning' lady seemed to think most healed themselves, as did the
midwife in the first place - fingers crossed. Well know more Tuesday.  Sorry to hear about your mum's fall - hope she's better soon although it's a long slow healing process.  

The wipe out day of torrential rain has dawned warm 16c and dry and forecast on my phone shows no rain, so it won't .  Day to ourselves in fact wekend to ourselves ? so still in bed whilst I do this and contemplate the day. We've noticed a difference in
the week we've been here in the Length if daylight hours. Probably only minutes! It's the equivalent of late January and light just before 7am and dark around 6pm very civilised.

Right mustn't waste my time on bed going to get up and decide on an adventure - it may only be to indulge ourselves and chill after a busy week. Although I'm not sure it's been as active as tammy girls haha.

Awnings are mostly black, but with really lovely carpets and the barbys are very very big. 

They don't seem to worry about lifting the ground sheets in the day. Maybe because the whole country is just one large hard standing. Pitches are about 10,000 sq metres, or more, electric hook up is by generator, to power several fridges, a monster freezer,
TV and several cookers. Some have portable air con units. Camelburgers are (yes) very nice. A bit like mutton I suppose. I won't go into their water arrangements and of course emptying the cassette loo doesn't arise.

Yes, camping is very popular In Kuwait, but only from February until May. 

Misty over the Solent this morning,but sun breaking through alreadyat 08.35,no breeze.Might be 'off air' for a couple of days now ,as I;m going to the boatyard till next week.So be good you'all,catch you later .

We've just finished breakfast and I'm sitting out in the awning in the relaxer with a cup of tea. We have a nice tree just in front of our awning giving us some shade and as we have a grass pitch, we are surrounded by greenery. The grass is neatly mown and
we have a view of the trees in the background that border the site. Very relaxing place to be.

Drove down to Belan locks today and walked along the Montgomery canal to Welshpool with the intention of coming back via Powys Castle - only to find a short stretch ( the deer park next to the castle) where dogs weren't allowed. So walked back along the canal which was pleasant enough. Picnic lunch by the locks and then a drive up to the castle. Because we're sharing dog minding duties only had about an hour each to look round which is nothing like enough! I'm not a big fan of castles ( when you've seen one etc etc...) but the grounds are stunning. You could easily spend half a day just walking round them - good reason to come back I'd say! 

Back home after 10 days away in deepest Keswick, staying on a fine CL. No wifi or tele, barely a radio reception. Bliss. The hills remain movingly beautiful and fill the soul with a joy that is hard to put into words. We had typical Lakes weather, stunningly sunny and thunderstorms, showers and mistiness, sometimes all in one day!

Back to a cheque from HMRC, no less. 

Looking forward to next outing already.

Sounds just perfect WN

Daughter and 6 year old grand-daughter came round this morning after swimming lesson so we all chilled in the gsrden for an hour or so. Some dead heading and cutting back in the garden this afternoon and then lots of watering in the garden this evening.
Now watching The Proms Strictly Come Dancing which I recorded last night - what a treat.
