the few that had to hold the fort moved a few comfy chairs into the IT rooms, tuned their air con to full, ordered pizza and spent a very lazy day (at 18C  v 34C outside) putting
the world to rights, luckily we all managed to home before the kids started arriving back as well. But a better day tomorrow, finish at 12 for six weeks and 4 days. Why do I have a certain Alice Cooper song in my head?

Write your comments here...Very sensible, Corners. I can never understand how anyone can live without air con in this heat! I have it set to 15 degrees celsius in the car and 16 degrees in the caravan when its 33 outside.

...each to their own Malcolm, I wouldn't want aircon in the van. If we have it in accomodation when away in hotels/villas/cruise ships etc. we either turn it off or have it around 20c any colder and its too cold for comfort.

Write your comments here...That's ok if you're sedentary, Tammygirl. However, if you are actively doing things, you are burning energy which makes you feel hotter, hence the need for a lower temperature in those circumstances.

Malc its called acclimatizing Wink if you don't allow your body to get used to the rise and fall in temperatures its not healthy.  As to a sedentary
life, what's that. I will have plenty of time to be still when I'm dead.

The reason I'm soooo late in my response is that I've been a bit active today. First I made the beds, cleaned the bathroom, hoovered throughout the house, washed the kitchen and bathroom floors on hand and knees. Put the washing machine on, made a banana
loaf (bananas gone soft) hung out the washing. Time for a cuppa at 11.30. Then strimmed the grass edges OH cut the grass, I then hoed all the garden beds. Lunch (which I made). This afternoon I cleaned all the windows and frames outside, played football with
the little boy next door, then made him 3 windmills out of plastic bottles. Dinner which I cooked.

Sedentary I think you will find is more your thing not mineWink

Write your comments here...Just reading about what you did is making me feel hot and tired! Where do you get the energy from, Tammygirl, in this heat?

It was reasonably cool when I got up this morning but the sun has come out now as I sit and type this post in the awning. So it's getting hotter. I guess it will soon be time to retreat into the caravan and turn on the air-conditioning!

Humid and overcast here today.  There was a little light rain earlier.  Not enough for the garden but too wet to hang out the washing.  Now going into town to sort out my phone contract which is due to expire soon.

Typed a missive earlier but girls needed attention and I was timed out .

Sunny today 14c cold wind from from the south gone. Seems an odd thing to say. Much better baby day but scan on her kidneys still showing an issue from the womb, proper details hopefully Tuesday when midwife has results. (Good system here you choose your
midwife and they follow you thro although she was on day off when baby arrived daughter knew who'd be with her, and her midwife came in anyway). We are babysitting all good so far fingers crossed. Cooked dinner on strange cooker!

Hope you all have a good weekend and keep the warm weather. Rain forecast for a complete washout tomorrow. Hoping to get on with curtains. Hubby been busy and now has two painted ceilings to sure for his work, prep work takes ages and nothing to show.  He
replaced the wallpaper granddaughter stripped from her bathroom luckily previous people left some!

Hot and sunny again today so all the doors and windows are open as I resemble a whirling dervish, moving accumulated "stuff" (some agricultural), tidying and dusting all the downstairs rooms. I normally  wouldnt bother so much, but we're expecting visitors
at the weekend. It's my own fault. I often say "if you're passing, come and see us". And out of the blue I've been taken at my word, by an ancient (well, 90) cousin of my husbands, and a distant cousin of mine over from Australia. I don't really know the first,
and only know the aunt of the other. So it's tea and cakes on Saturday and Sunday afternnon, in dust and clutter free rooms.

Woke to rain this morning but its cleared away now, still a bit overcast though.

Malcolm, I'm always busy as we only get small windows of good weather up here, so you have to be fast to achieve anythingWink

H&T Phew! you have been busy too not just me then, first week back at work was always busy and seemed to go on for ever, don't miss it at all.

ABM, glad you've managed to get a new fridge, will you fit it yourself or get someone to do it (is it ok to fit something with gas yourselfUndecided)

Bakers2, hope everything will be ok with the baby, think I must have missed some of your earlier post when she was born, didn't know she was poorlySad

Well as its stopped raining and I've now finished my cuppa I must get on and sort some clothes out for going in the van, we are off on Sunday to child mind the Gkids in Penistone for a week. Should have picked this week as the weather has been great down there.

Hope the B2 baby tests are ok, sounds like a good system in NZ.

Pleased to hear a fridge has been found for Brian.

Don't work too hard any of you....Goldie, I'm sure the visitors will enjoy their tea and cakes! I'm supposed to be packing the van just now, must get on with it! Wink

I've just woken up from my afternoon siesta. Earlier, we had lunch at 11 a.m. and watched a movie on Film 4; the 1963 Summer Holiday film  with Cliff Richard and the Shadows. This was followed by tea and jam doughnuts which we had bought from Tesco at the
discounted price of seven pence for a pack of five doughnuts.

Relocated to Cae Mawr today after three nights of digital purdah at Much Wenlock. No wifi and one G phone signal. It was hot work going round the Ironbridge museums over the past couple of days.

So that's why you told me to get the weather sorted! Happy

Should have let us know you were coming - we did wave in your direction on the wat past this morning!

Big party down at Lligwy beach cafe tomorrow night - live music, craft ales and Welsh black beef burgers (don't think that means burnt!) on the menu if you like that sort of thing!

Friends came to visit this morning then after lunch we went to Falkirk, did a bit of DIY shopping and then spent the afternoon at the "Kelpies" work of art and the neighbouring picturesque park.  Quite impressive structures those Kelpies when they are viewed from close up. ,The weather was good and mild.

On our return home less than half an hour away it was hissing down with rain, so we had made the right decision to see the Kelpies.

Thanks both, the home don't know what happened really. It was while I was away, they think she may have come down hard on her bottom while in the garden. Mum complained of her lower back hurting and she couldn't weight bear to walk. There was no bruising
so they thought she may have pulled a muscle, after a few days she wasn't any better they had a doctor check her out, he also thought pulled muscle. After another week she was no better, so hospital for x-ray, turns out she has cracked he sacrum. Poor sole
doesn't understand why she can't walk and is getting a bit frustrated with the frame.Sad

Oh Drat - kids gone abroad and dumped their mutt off on me again!

Poor thing doesn't know what she has done to deserve it.

Did you know that there are walking groups out there, in the wider world,(U3A), who do not allow anyone to take a dog along with them?  That a bit mean to dog owners isn't it?

Sorry to hear about Tammygirl's mum and congratulations on the graduation Millie.

We've had rain this afternoon.  A little cloud appeared about 4pm and dropped about 3 spots, then went merrily on it's way elsewhere.  It's been just a little cooler today, but very pleasant.  The thunderstorms I thought we would get never appeared, but I reckon we could do with one now to clear the air a bit.

    Take care everyone..

Cut the grass after our holiday.

Glad to see that the rate of growth has slowed now, so managed to do it at the normal mower height setting (still a lot of grass though!).

Caught up with paperwork, emails etc.

Mrs H doing industrial quantities of washing.....all seems to have dried in the sun though.

Arrived at the final destination of our tour near Welshpool today. Small private AO site. Recommended to us - nice and quiet but no walks direct from site. And just in comparison with the club sites we've been on previously, only 1 male & 1 female shower
for 40+ pitches, no TV reception ( possibly a plus) and the much advertised "free WiFi" only works if you come down to the utility area. Pitches are smaller than CC, roads narrower and vans pitched in rows. However they do have shrubs and bushes separating
them. At £24 a night, the most expensive site on our tour (make of that what you will! Wink).

But very friendly owners who kindly carried our deposit forward from last year when we had to cancel not once, but twice due to Harry's foot infection.

So all in all, happy caravanners! Happy
