@nelliethehooker I see the Kindle Fire ads specifically state that Google Play Store is not supported on those tablets so it appears you are pushed towards using the Amazon Silk browser, which is likely the root of the problem, rather than using an alternative. @InaD found her issues disappeared once she swapped to Chrome and I feel the same will apply to @Bakers2 if she swaps browser.

An Internet search has revealed that you can use Chrome on a Kindle if you first install the Play Store. I’ve no way of testing this so can’t guarantee it will work and you may well find other suggestions if you do your own search. I think anything you can do to help resolve your current situation is worth a shot to relieve the frustration encountered.

@Tinwheeler the problem I have is that when I try and type more than 2 letters, when the person I am interested in naming hasn't appeared, I get a repeat of either the first or both letter and then can progress no further. If I then try to backspace to remove those letters I can't and if I try again on a second line I do not get a red response after the @ symbol!

Thanks TW for your post, above. I will have a look to see into can do as you suggest, or just grin and bear it, i suppose.

@Cornersteady thanks too. Please see my first lines above in reply to @Tinwheeler.

Nit's (This is my 3rd attempt to type the word "Note"!😖😖) Note. Both the red @ above worked as the names were listed in the list of 5 that appeared, so easy to select.

Looks like it may well be worth the effort of you trying to get Chrome, @nelliethehooker, as it may solve all your problems.

I have had a quick look at what is required, and it will take a bit of time to sort it out, thanks again. @Tinwheeler

If push comes to shove you could always revert to the old way NTH of doing things by highlighting a name and using Bold or Italic. Whilst not as noticeable it still stands out a bit from just a name. As you used to highlight, I seem to recall, on the old CT I'm assuming you can do so again. The bold/italic prompts come up when you highlight text.

I no longer appear to have that option, as the facility to change to Bold, Italics etc have disappeared, @Wherenext

I may have just found a way to do it, by selecting what I want to go bold, holding my finger on it the facility bar appears and then I can change the font. A success at last.

Just what I was attempting to say in the post above your's @Cornersteady but thanks all the same.👍

Grabbing the screenshot will depend on your device @nelliethehooker. Posting it is the same as posting any photo.

    @nelliethehooker

In Windows I just press the print screen button, labeled 'prt sc' and that takes a screenshot. It's kept in memory as if you had copied it and can paste it straight away. I also have my screenshots saved to my one drive account as png files (as I find that useful if wanting a quick grab of some payment and reference number like when booking a club site) I then open them in Paint and crop out the unwanted parts

On my phone and tablet I press the lower volume and on buttons together.

I have never found screenshots that easy but have developed a couple of strategies basically along the lines highlighted by @Cornersteady above. What I find works for me in Windows is to take the screen shot, which basically copies the image to your clipboard. I then paste into a Word Document then click on the picture and use the save as option which saves it as an image. I know all that sounds longwinded but it works for me. Some Android devices (phones, don't know about tablets) require you to swipe the edge of the hand across the screen to capture the image but I think that applies to older phones?

Apple iOS devices save the screenshot to Photos (it looks like the fire does the same) and they can be posted directly onto CT the same as those of views or campsites. Although fairly easy on the iPad and iphone, using a combination of buttons, the Mac has best system. That uses an App which allows you to take the whole screen or just select a portion.

Likewise @DavidKlyne... It is much easier on my phone though.... There is a little grey man icon at the bottom right of the screen. I can click on it and it brings up various options including a screenshot. When it takes a screenshot, it bypasses the menu I've just opened by clicking on tbe man icon. Sadly, that means I can't take a shot of the menu... 🤣🤣

I'm still getting the bold option by highlighting the text....

    BOLD

I don' get the option of underline though.... unless I've forgotten how to do it....

Not familiar with Apple products but screen shots on an Android phone are much simpler than on a PC as they save direct to Gallery, probably the same as the iPhone? So they are easy to find. Its not quite so intuitive on a Windows system until you fathom it out.

"the Mac has best system. That uses an App which allows you to take the whole screen or just select a portion." Totally agree @SteveL . I have the App in my taskbar at the bottom of the screen on both my iMac and MacBook - just click on it to open - take the screenshot and it saves it to the desktop - and then just put it into the comment box via the 'mountain' icon. Couldn't be easier.

Is it me or is the forum now quicker and more accurate than before to go to the first unread post? It used to go to the area of the first unread post but today seems faster and spot on.🤷🏻‍♂️

I noticed that, if using the discussion box to try to access a discussion without there actually being a discussion notified that it can't do it. No big deal as I was just being a tad lazy as I was in that box already and accessed the relevant discussion page from the normal area.

I did somehow lose a post that I was editing after pressing SAVE COMMENT box. Anybody else had that?

It does seem quicker than normal @Tinwheeler

@SteveL thanks for the link, I will have a look at that. I am just lazy I guess was I don't seem to be able to find the time to search for solutions to the problems I have.

@DSB I discovered that way of doing it last night. With the kindle I don't have any other icons other than my keyboard so will try the method using the volume and on/off key, as suggested by @DavidKlyne

@Rowena have you had any word back from your IT department if they intend to make it possible, with this new version of CT, to access the latest reviews of club sites and CLs as we were able to do with the previous version?

Hi @nelliethehooker I will see if there's any updates on the feedback we sent over. I might not have an update until the New Year now though.
