What I slightly worry about Homebase is whether they are going to survive? The one in MK had been converted to a Bunnings but now converted back but when one visits you get the impression they are just trying to sell off old stock!

However, they are not selling off the old stock cheaply (yet)!

In respect to our caravanning and access to Gaslights alone, does it matter if Homebase survive?
Their hiccups, thankfully lead to the whole Flo-gas dealer network being free to handle the Gaslight exchanges. Even their depots where they filled the things I could not use, till then. That change for me is a great step forward, on what I find a user friendly product.

In respect to our caravanning and access to Gaslights alone, does it matter if Homebase survive?
Only from the perspective that Homebase are relatively convenient but if, as you say, they are more readily available elsewhere perhaps I have no need to concern myself. I have yet to try the 10kgs Gaslight I have in my motorhome locker. According to Bailey it only takes 2 X 6 kgs but it does look big enough to get at least one in place.

No. I am saying that the vast majority of "Lite" sales were to the leisure customers.
This is based on enquiries at my nearest distributer who more-or-less said that the "Lite" were not up to use in the harsh commercial environment. Which might well account for the fact a higher than steel percentage were getting damaged, leading to the eventual withdrawal.

Northampton currently has some too, 6kg Calor Lites for £26.something when exchanging, at A Bell in Kingsthorpe.
The gent there commented that each time they're told there will be no more, then when the company send them, customers think they're just winding them up saying no more will be supplied!

DavidandVicki. Never, they have no plans to replace as this was bitten them. that then gives caravaners a problem as two of their standard bottles take most vans over the hitch limit. As I use a BBQ with a Camping Gas bottle I have purchased an adapter. So I plan to use the Blue butane 3.5 bottle with the Camping gas as a backup because we don't winter camp.

As it's fairly clear that Calor Gas do not seem to have any plans to replace Calor Lite and current availability is subject to the dwindling stocks of that type of cylinder being available I will unsticky this thread. I am sure if we get wind of any future replacement someone will post the news.
