PD, just priced up a Beddgelert pitch for tonight for us and dog. Comes out at ยฃ27.50 per night, inclusive of EHU and basic (dodgy!) WiFi. I wouldnโ€™t consider this good value for money. Certainly we have seen far nicer sites while down here. Railway enthusiasts being the exception, it is a good place for Welsh Highland Railway. Shops in village are very touristy now, maximum extraction of cash the norm. But thatโ€™s like a lot of other places nowadays. A single cone ice cream was ยฃ3.

Bosch seem to be a pretty good brand, though I have seen mentioned that their newer stuff is not as well built as the old stuff.

When DS and wife to be bought their first house some 21 years back, we bought them a Bosch washing machine, it is still going strong, never had a thing wrong with it.  DD buys mainly Bosch appliances if affordable, and we do the same, though we do have an  AEG oven and tumble dryer, and DD has an AEG oven too.

If we have something heavy to dispose of we now ask for help from SIL, but I have in the past dismantled a washing machine to take to the tip.

Just said goodbye to friends who are off on a three week motorhome tour of western Canada, we're heading for mid Staffordshire and northwards soon...slightly less adventurous! But I will be interested to hear how they get on during their travels. smile

Quiet day today, rain on and off, managed to get out this afternoon for awhile on the bikes during a lull in the weather. Rain now back on with thunder rumbling around us. frown

AD, glad you and OH are managing to get out and about once again, I wouldn't rush up to France the weather isn't good for the next few days.

I've run out of data on my mifi so having to use the site free wifi, not bad at the moment but not really reliable unless closer to the office.

Some places seem very reasonable, but this part of Wales seems a tad expensive for lots of things! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Went for a coastal walk today, parking at Runswick Bay and walking to Staithes. Weather was kind. Saw 2 Weasels crossing the road (sounds like a bad joke). A most enjoyable 7 miles.

Forecast looks dire after tomorrow so we'll go for a long one before hunkering down. Looks like it's only going to affect Eastern England so may head for Wales.๐Ÿ˜Ž

A mixed day weather wise, starting off dry but cloudy. Drove up to Huntly to fill up, and got a few bits at Asda. Then onto the castle, which is an impressive ruin. Managed a short walk over to the caravan site, which was certainly nowhere near full, before being caught in a downpour. Fortunately OH had our small brollies in her rucksack or we would have been soaked before getting back to the car. Back at site the sun eventually came out and we were able to get out for another short walk, but it's just started to rain again. Hopefully it won't last long and have stopped before our last walk. Off down the road tomorrow to our next CL.

WN. We did that walk a couple of years ago with our 8 year old grand-daughter. She is a great little walker! Lovely views.

Well done her. It's great to see youngsters wanting to walk.

Off to Robin Hoods Bay tomorrow. Have to get them in before the deluge arrives.โ˜บ๏ธ

My advice is stay East! Had a lovely day today, but rest of week looks a shocker. Not only is it wet, but itโ€™s been very cold as well, down to 10 degrees at times, in day!

After seeing off rest of our party, some off for a driving tour, OH off up another mountain on his bike, the dog and I have had a very nice day.  Sat in sunshine, pooch paddling and doing poochy type stuff, while I enjoyed a book. Wish I had taken binocs, as sure I saw dolphins out in bay. Tonight has been a very nice evening, so after dinner, Mum and walked up village for a stroll, and came across some lovely Pygmy Goats, with tiny kids. Great sunset tonight.......

The local Scrap dealers round the town of Crewe, will take a fridge / freezer but there is a charge to cover the recovery of the refrigerant.

Wales is still throwing up surprises! Expected rain this morning, but instead hot and sunny. I can see some huge clouds in distance over Snowdon, so hope it drops on there and not us.

This has got to be the friendliest village we have ever stayed in, every morning walking dog brings an offer of a coffee or invite to this craft group or that craft group. It really is a place I shall be sad to leave, but definitely a place to return to again. Even the Pygmy Goats have their own Facebook page!๐Ÿ˜‚

That sounds great TTDA.  We're having a few days a Poolsbrook CAMC site.  I'll mention your experience about the coffee to the wardens here as a way to improve customer experience.  laughinglaughing  I bet that'll go down well.  laughinglaughing

Persistently raining here! Had heavy showers over the weekend. My rambling rector rose which looked spectacular  is being hammered. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Just sat in the conservatory watching the birds feeding a during a lull in the  rain. 6 baby sparrows trying to nibble on the  square fat trying hard to get their angles right and space, then along comes a baby starling and pushes them all off. 2 baby sparrows await feeding but dad only gave them  each 1 bit ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Baby Robin and a blue title cottoned on that the droppings from fat square are great and easily accessible and fed from them. Fantastic entertainment ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

Sadly it's got heavy again and they've all taken shelter.

Many thanks for the feedback TTDL, it sounds as though the touring pitches haven't changed much if at all. It is a shame as I very much like visiting the area. Last time I made the trip to Bedgelert was on a day trip on the WHR from Porthmadog in preference to staying on that site.

Went out to B&Q for an hour, returned to find lots of pigeon feathers by the bird feeder bush. I'm not sure what has taken it no sign of a body. Sparrowhawk? We have one who visits. It would have to be a strong one our pigeons, we have several, are huge ๐Ÿ˜ฏ. Or could it have been nextdoors cat?

Sunny and warm here, good day for gardening.

Went to DD's house in the morning and got about half their hedge cut and the tidying done before coming home for lunch.  Then I finally managed to get the caravan moved enough to get it washed....long overdue!

Still have our neighbour's Leylandii to trim before putting van back....hopefully tomorrow morning if it stays dry.

    Woodturning club tonight.
