Nice weather here today, going out for a coffee en route to pick up some DIY things. Visiting dog's owners return tomorrow, as usual he won't want to go home as he is very busy here, but no doubt he'll be back! wink

A mixed day for you Oneputt with the funeral ahead.

Good to hear DSB has a date for the op.

Hope you get your toilet seat B2, nothing like the prospect of an exciting purchase to get you out of bed in the morning! laughing

EasyT, have a good day out, you can put your feet up later, I think you will to!

😀😀  This predictive text is a bit of a pain sometimes, but it has it's advantages too.  It's the full knee OP, to match the full replacement the other side and the two shoulders I've had done.  Hips next, I wonder!! 😃😉.   No more caravanning until I'm allowed to drive again after the op. 2😟😟

Bight and sunny this morning but grass wet when I took the dog for a walk this  morning, he also seems more like his old self this morning, which is a relief smile

Hope weddings and funerals go well, Moulesy will look out for your dance video  winklaughing

DSB good news you have a date for your op, hope all goes well.

I've just dashed round Sainsbury's they have 25% of clothing so load of new underwear purchased!  embarassed

We are off to Manchester in the morning to see youngest son, he has a house viewing booked and suggested we tag along, surprised oh well I can be nosey!  We are staying over, not sure I'am looking forward to sleeping on the air bed undecided but it's only one night!

Now Just enjoying a cuppa and catch up before work. Hope all those away are having a fab time. smile

Busy day again today working around the house. Tried to paint the outside of the utility room yesterday but got defeated by the weather, rain one minute lovely sunshine the next.

Went to Hygienist in the afternoon then popped in to see big Sis for a cuppa. Back home and the weather behaved long enough for me to get one side of the walls donesmile managed to get the other long wall done this morning. Just the back wall to do know but that has a greenhouse attached to it so need to make sure OH is available for that.

OH busy up in the attic doing some work with a hammer drill, neighbours warned first though of course wink

Not a good day weather wise grey skies and miserable looking but at least no rain yet.

Going to have a go at making Spring Pancake rolls this afternoon once I sussed a recipe, we had a stir fry last night and I'm fed up with having to through half a bag of bean sprouts out every time we have one, why oh why do the bags have to be so big.

H&T, thanks for the CL recommendation, I saw your review. Have given them a call last night but not heard anything yet.

Have a good weekend folks home or away.

One end caps fitted on the awning, slightly bigger than existing one but same part number 😮. OH decided against putting other one on as existing one not too bad so it's ready as and when!

No toilet seat in stock. Took existing one with us, assuming it could be identified - just how naive are some folks??? but apparently we need the part number for the ceramic bowl for them to order correct one. Is the number on the toilet bowl? - no, should be listed on your purchase paperwork. I'm not a thrower of paperwork and have a file, read carrier bag 😉, with house documents including estate agents details 😁 so here's hoping I've still got the bill and that's got the part number! Chap gayly says, probably cheaper to buy ex display and fit 😮, Oh course I don't suppose the outlet pipe and other fittings for bowl and cistern would line up so new flooring tiling etc 😤😤😤😤. Bathroom only been in about 10 years the thought of befitting it, let alone the expense 😭😭😭

    Tammygirl busy again,

HelenandTrevor glad to hear your dog seems more like himself. Enjoy tomorrow with your son, fingers crossed for the sleeping arrangements 😉 are you required to take your own bed linen? They might have given up their bed for you 😂

Sounds like they're warming up for RiZe the new name for V. Were only aware of it if were in the garden and then it's very distant. Just finished a very late lunch, my stomach really did think my throat had been cut!

Another two hippo bags of cuttings to the tip, so that's four in total. It's a good job we only have a small garden! That's my bit of horticulture done. I'll leave the techie stuff to the OH as I can barely differentiate between a daff and a rose.

OH has cleaned up the toilet seat fixings before replacing - looks as good as new 😁. No need to buy a new one after all. Just need to get him to reseal behind the bath taps, and replace the drip strip on the shower doors, had the stuff for weeks 😉, think his get up and go got up and went 😲. Amazing what a deadline ( we have a trip booked for 27th) can galvanize.

Did grab a few bits in Tesco whilst I was out, including a refill for an Ambi Pur plug in air freshener. Went to fit it and they've changed the shape of the fragrance bottle 😤😤😤. Not to be beaten I got the top off the new and old ones and transferred the liquid over. Boy it's concentrated can't get it completely off my hands, so I'm acting as the airfreshner for now!

Been a beautiful day today, although it did cloud over about noon, best we've had for more than a week. Long may it continue

That's the trouble with being away in the growing season isn't it? Decent R&R followed by need for hard work -- more R&R required. Our Malcolm would tell us downside of house and garden sealed

Best bit of a visit to daughter we go out of the growing season and enjoy theirs returning to hopefully just a sweep around before spring bursts forth.

Oh yes Bakers busy busy as usual laughinglaughinglaughing need to get jobs done as we pick up the caravan on Tuesday. Staying out overnight with it near Aberdeen just in case we need to take a trip back there.

OH been that busy he blew his hammer drill up mid afternoon, quickly nipped into town and bought another one, already for another go tomorrow morning wink

I finished all the painting outside (apart from the back wall) then washed all windows and doors down and gave the deck another clean up.

Cleaned both Ebikes that seem to have taken up residence on the deck and put the cover over them, Don't think we are going to have time to go for a bike ride in the next couple of days.

Must go and make these Spring Rolls now someone is making noises of being hungrylaughinglaughinglaughing

H&T, have a nice time with your boy at the weekend. We got a phone call from the CL now booked in, thanks for the recommendation.

Just spoken to youngest son,  sorted out plans for the weekend, will be good to catch up with them smile

Bakers apparently we haven't got to take bed stuff, but can't see them giving up their bed laughing. I'am sure we'll manage for 1 night.

Tammygirl glad you have sorted out the CL, it's been a few years since we last used the site,  no longer need to visit Loughborough or deliver/collect son. Hope you enjoy the site.

CY, glad you have got  the garden sorted.

Funeral went well today, it was a semi religious affair.  The lady that conducted it was brilliant.  Met family members I hadn’t seen for a number of years.

After leaving there went to SWT Lackford Lakes and wandered around in the company of a couple of Kingfishers which was most uplifting.

Seeing that it’s Friday had to have a curry takeaway🥘

Glad the funeral went well. Always a mixture of emotions especially when you see folks you've not seen for years. Lovely to hear kingfishers kept you company this afternoon .

I hope you wafted the curry smell about the caravan a la Jerry in the good life 😉

Local Flower show today, missed one last week so will enjoy seeing all the flowers and produce. I sometimes enter something but not this year. We have a glut of tomatoes, will be roasting a lot with garlic etc to freeze, they have done well in the hot weather. Lots of plums to pick and lots of apples. The sun will have increased the sugar content in the apples so they should have a good flavour. Other veg not so good except courgettes which never seem to fail! smile

Have just returned after spending 5 days at Aberbran with mixed weather. Pitch 2 is one to avoid this time of year as the acorns were dropping off the tree onto the roof.

Someone asked awhile ago about view from pitches, so I enclose some photos. There is a slightly better view from the grassed platform pitches.

When my father in law dies a few years ago my eldest daughter arranged the funeral (with my help).

No religious spiel apart from the commendation at the end. I took the lead and spoke of Ted and then invited others to do the same. It worked very well with family, friends and neighbours adding their memories.

Long day yesterday. Took daughter, the two grandsons and Fliss to the zoo. Had some me time between 6 and 7am. We arrived at Chester Zoo just to go in at 10am and were there until 3.45pm. Fliss travelled in her own car as I knew she would not enjoy the motorway trip to and from Leigh at that time of day.

Often after a day out from daughter's place I stop at a local chippie that does batters to suit allergies on request as daughter has to avoid gluten and kids are sensitive to milk protein. For them fish and chips is a treat. I decided though that after 5.5 hours at the zoo they would be dog tired. Both dropped off to sleep during the 1.5 hour journey home. Made it easy to unpack the car and them get them out. laughing

It looks like a site with a fair number of trees.  I have to say, I try and avoid trees generally - I prefer a more open pitch.  One day we'll get around to this site... 🙂  Hope you had a good time.

We got home late on Thursday night after a lovely ten day tour, mainly in Northumberland. Had some good weather, couple of rainy days, but so much to see and do up there! Yesterday was all about washing, catching up with Mum and Sister, and checking our friends are ok after a rough time for them. Obviously been hot here while we have been away, garden parched, grass hardly grown at all. So, bit more washing to finish, then some garden tasks for me after dog walking. Looking for a nice cottage as well back up in Northumberland, to share with Mum and Sister.

Taking Mum, she hasn't had a holiday for five years as Dad was just too frail. Left it very late to book this year, a lot of places are full, but I shall find something for us. Oh And I are fancying Dartmoor again.

Well today sees the last of the big jobs on the list, that I wanted to do before getting ready to go away.

Where the greenhouse is fixed to the back of the utility room I've resealed it all from roof to floor. Then the last of the painting has been completed. Garden tidied up where I've been walking all over it and some boring plants skipped. Going to have a browse through the catalogue to see if there is anything I fancy.

OH was busy first thing with his Men's shed group they have had an open day today so busy setting up tables and chairs and a display of the things they make.

Tomorrow it will be visit Mum in the morning then we might be going out for lunch with our DIL and grandchildren as they are on their way up today from Tidworth. Its a long drive for her with the just the children for company but she is quite used to it now it doesn't seem to faze her at all.

Granddaughter is off back to boarding school on Tuesday she's all excited as this year she will be in S1 and will have a rookie to look after laughing unfortunately our son will not be coming up this time as he has to return to work on Monday. Depending on where we go (UK or Europe) we will either call in and see him/them on our way South or on our way back up the road.

Tomorrow is forecast to be rain most of the day so no outdoor jobs, will probably just get things ready to load into the car on Monday, ready for our drive up to Aberdeen on Tuesday morning to pick up the caravan.

brue hope you had a nice day at the flower show, you deserve a day of relaxation.

EasyT, hope you are taking things slower today yesterday sounded very tiring.

Travelled up to Manchester this morning,  then had to go and view a couple of houses with our son and his girlfriend. First house wasn't what they wanted,  but second house in Glossop they both really liked. ☺ lots of scope and we were impressed with Glossop,  some nice independent shops including a really good bakery.

Afterwards we needed a break so visited Lyme Park and did a Lovely walk round the park and enjoyed an ice cream

Back at sons now they have some decisions ro make😕

Ttda glad you had a good trip and you find a cottage .

Late rising this morning as gusts played havoc with sleep, the CL is quite high up. Took ourselves off for a bike ride on a breezy but dry day and enjoyed it. New bikes and bike carrier worked well.

Rain due tonight so may get another lie in.laughing

Thank you the pictures of Aberbran Cariadon. We have decided to use a couple of CLs in the area instead but it will be kept in reserve for future jaunts.

We picked the "new to us" car up this morning. A Ford Kuga Titanium X automatic. Just trying to get used to not using my left leg. Within an hour of parking it on our drive, our neighbours had noticed and knocked on the door for a viewing. 😀

Tammygirl - I hope the caravan pick on Tuesday goes ok.

Yep, quiet day on Saturday Tammy. Popped out to local shops to get steak mince etc to make the base for a cottage pie for when I visit friend on Wednesday. With him being housebound we enjoy our meal together. Have not had much conversation with him last week with grandkids being here. After this week I shan't see Bob until October after our next holiday starting in 12 days.
