Oneputt fingers crossed for a decent viewing. I bet the atmosphere on the beach will be great. If we were still up your way wed join you. We saw the total eclipse of the sun on Studland beach magical.

Looking forward to moon viewing tonight, like helenandtrevor we've had a good view all week, the only excuse I'll accept is rain 😉

Thanks for your good wishes for mum, I'm certain it's the heat. She's changing her appointment for the hospital,  9.30am Monday,  as it's too early for her. I suggested that when they sent the appointment 😲😤😭. We'd planned much activity by way of appointments for next week leaving subsequent weeks for a get away!

Our hall thermostat is saying 27.5c that's a number not often seen even in the depths if winter! I've whizzed the vac round. Too hot even for shade here until very late afternoon so our lounge will be used.

Happy wedding anniversary mousley. Dare we ask what the surprise is?😲😉

Whilst away for our 6 week break we got into the habit of placing water at the base of a hedge or similar for the birds. It seemed to be appreciated.

On the last site I cut a large watermelon up that we had had ripening. More than we wanted and so half of it went in slices to the birds over a few days. (rest of surplus in a cool box meanwhile). The blackbirds were very keen laughing

A local thrush amused me at St Neots C&CC site. Plenty of 'anvil' stones around but it took to breaking snails on my EHU cable. On our last morming having removed the EHU it seemed perplexed at first seemingly looking for its anvil

Just read the latest mag. I see Goldie contribution on their favorite site is included along with others who contributed to that thread.

I see Rowena has started another about basic sites HERE if anyone wants to contribute. I'm aiming to put a link on the non ehu thread but I'm searching 😂😂.

Our very shady outside thermometer probe peaked at 34.7c and our hall thermometer on the heating control unit says 30c 😲

EasyT I hope you get a result with the car 😉.

I gave the birds some cherries yesterday I could almost see their smiles 😀

I have just checked our outside thermometer and it is reading 35 degrees in the shade. Our conservatory is 32 degrees and I am having to run through it to get to the garden😁.

I love the story of your thrush EasyT.😊 I hope it found another anvil. I have been  putting a small bowl if water on the ground near some bushes in our garden for the little mammals. I have to refill it every day. I have just refilled our 3 birdbaths again. I have also filled all our watering cans from our water butts, which were luckily filled from the rain we had last Friday night, in the hopes that we will get some of the forecast rain to fill them up again. I am now cooling off in our living room with the fan on and a large glass of water.

I see JVB put a review of Ferry Meadows in the latest magazine. Well done JVB and Goldie.

Just had a downpour, ran around and closed all the windows where it was coming in. Temp outside now 24. Just finished and it's all over 😢. A bit like 4am thiß morning. Warming up again now. Milliehull I always keep my 3 watering cans full to ensure there's capacity for more in the butts. You had rain on Friday? Not thought about water near the shrubs, will rectify that immediately!

Hope is cheaper than when it went wrong on my previous X trail. Needed a new unit which was not a bad price as 3rd party. However a special bit of pipe that was required was a Nissan only item and cost a fortune.☹️

Food shopping in Malvern  this morning. Very busy. It was Fish Friday at Waitrose, so two nice sea bream are prepared and waiting in the fridge, to go on the Cadac, when it cools down a bit. We don't really feel like eating until about 8 pm. They will go down well with a salad and a bottle of Provençal rose.😋

Just back from a short circular walk, only about 3 miles, but would not have wanted to do much more, it's just too hot. It supposed to rain a bit in the early hours and be cooler tomorrow. So hopefully more suitable for a decent walk. Sunday is supposed to be the much needed rain. I noticed in some of the harvested crop fields we crossed, they had been very roughly ploughed, just enough to break up the surface. I assume so when the rain comes, it goes in rather than runs off.

Friday is arrivals day of course. I have noticed on here recently a few threads about axle problems. I can't say I am surprised that problems exist, when you see how some folk take the road humps. There is one almost in front of our van. I am sure a few have shown air.😱

Dull but warm here, nice when sitting in front of our fan.  No rain yet, supposed to arrive tomorrow.

DD's house purchase is still in limbo, lenders have sent the details back to the underwriters to review the mortgage decision, that is a week now they have had it so we are all getting very worried.

Overcast and a cool 22 here today, had rain overnight, and a few spots earlier.

Painting done, scaffolding gone, and a cool day to tidy up outside and wash windows and frame.

Take care everyone in this heat, and enjoy what ever you are up to.

was just sitting in the garden about 10 minutes when a loud roar of jet engines above and behind me and looked up and to see the Red Arrows in formation pass overhead, they must be there at the Sunderland airshow tomorrow? Very impressive.

Don't think we're going to get to see the blood moon 😢. Think the black dark cloud here thunder and lightening unlikely to clear before its all over 😔. We've had a few sharp showers and you can almost see the grass greening as it falls.

EasyT hope you do get some change 😉

KjellNN I hope your daughter gets a definitive answer soon!

Brue have you trodden on some legs?  I can feel your pain 🤕.

    Lucky you cornersteady.

Friend cancelled her visit here this afternoon, rather hot and other commitments took longer were aiming at tomorrow, she's here until Sunday afternoon so should manage it at some point. Mind you if it's cooler I can more a bit faster 😂😂

We had a similar problem when we had our van serviced a couple of weeks ago, David, one of the brake pads had parted from the shoe. Unfortunately our engineer didn't have the part on hand and we had to wait a few days for it to arrive. But at least it was all done before out intended setting off day.

Apart from a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord 🍺the evening has been a disappointment.  About 8.30pm cloud came down and blotted out the horizon so no blood moon, mars, Saturn or Jupiter.

Walking home and the wind got up and we had a mother of an electrical storm.  Still 24C here and no sign of the wet stuff💦⚡️

Too much cloud here to see anything either, rain hasn't arrived yet probably come during the night. Still very warm have only just closed the french windows. Managed to get all the plants in before it does rain so they can have a good soak.

Just heard a rumble of thunder surprised off to close the attic windows.
