TW has been keeping me in line with wise words & hairy ears😳. You are a hard act to follow roobz👍🏻😊

Husky, hope you get him reeled in!

We've lost our bus service for at least a month because of roadworks. It's too far to walk for most people to get the nearest stop so a lot will not be able get out of the village or be dependent on lifts. So I sympathise with your walk Millie and a much longer time to wait for the roadworks.
Grandson here tonight, just sitting down for a moment's peace!

I went outside the front of our house about 5pm to put the bin out and heard and saw some young idiot racing one of those small noisy motor bikes round the recreation ground opposite our house where lots of children were playing. I came in and rang 101. The policeman said they would log the call and hope to get the local police out. 2 hours later I get a call to ask if he is still there........'um... no...' He then asked did he have a helmet on and did I get a registration number. It makes you want to weep. 😣They will get another call if I see him or others doing the same again.
Enjoy having your grandchildren with you brue and Goldie. Happy days 😊

It's not worth calling Millie is it? All you can hope is that they only hurt themselves and no one else. I had one charge at me as I was going through one of those road narrowing chicanes last year.

It was quite frightening seeing him racing round the young children. I really fear what might happen in future. He was shouting and yahooing as he raced round 😲😈😧

You leave my ears out of this! 🤪

Another busy day, sorted things from MH that's in the front bedroom, there is still lots of stuff there but nothing we don't use. Will try to thin it out again when we get the caravan but that not for another 4 weeks yet.
OH didn't start the hedges as he ended up helping his mate to sort his car, then helped same mate to fit a new towing head to his trailer.
By then it was lunchtime and after lunch he had a meeting with a lady and her solicitor, the lady wishes to bequeath some money to the village development trust.
I spent the afternoon in the garden again, at last all the beds and borders have been weeded, bushes trimmed and in some cases scalped
I can now start the task of planting the new plants I've been buying, oh and top dress the beds with the manure. There is 1 Hebe that needs to come out but OH will have to assist with that as its a big one.Millie, your day sounded nice but tiring in the heat you have, hope the biker doesn't come back and cause more havoc.
Bakers, glad your hedgehog is still around, I think we have one as we have droppings around the garden but no sighting yet.

I’ve had one of these(below) for 2yrs WN, sound & simple engineering
Thanks, Rocky, but we too have one of these tucked away in the garage but it won't take the new bikes we're hoping to buy. Some E-bikes to help me due to an underlying illness. I occasionally run out of steam when least expected, usually when we are furthest away from the car!
I've always been impressed by Thule carriers.

Not been on here for a while so here's a quickish update. Left home just over a week ago and stopped for 3 nights on a grand CL near Chester, Belle View. Next day met daughter at Cheshire Oaks for chat, chocolates and a bit of retail therapy. Wednesday we met up with Wherenext & Mrs WN for a walk, more chat and lunch, which was great. Next day towed down to one or our favourite CLs, The Old Orchard near Worcester. Friday went to Witley Court, then on Saturday, and the reason for our stay here, was our Son's wedding. Following the service in the church they held the reception at Harvington Hall which was a great success. Fortunately the weather was kind being fine but not as hot as either the day before or since. Sunday was a rest day for us as it was just too hot for walking a great distance, and we would not leave Flyte in the car for very long so not able to visit any N/T houses. Yesterday we met up with son and DIL for a drink and a chat about the wedding and families, as you do. Then today we've moved on down to another of our favourite CLs Pardon Hill, near Cheltenham. Hope that the weather is a bit cooler so that we can get some walking in now.

Millie, it's a sign of the times. Police don't have the manpower. We have similar problems in the school summer holidays with groups gathering in the woods behind us. We normally get a community police visit to sort them out within an hour of a phone call but sometimes never.

Hi NTH. Glad it went well. Am out for a walk tomorrow myself. Might take in the RSPB at Burton Mere. The world is my lobster.
Booked a 3 night stay at a local CL near Frodsham for midweek next week to try new awning out. Mrs.WN back on Friday so she can start packing the van on Saturday.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all well and bounding with energy, waiting to get out and make the most of the day.
Having a quick coffee before heading out onto the Wirral for a walk and a bit of lazy birdwatching. I feel like having a long stretch of the legs today before the heat gets into it.
The bird baths have been filled so I don't need to worry about that.

Up early and out with the dog before it gets hot, lovely walk, very quiet as the builders hadn't started work

Trip into town this morning, bit of shopping and renew my car Insurance, haven't had chance to shop around as I usually do as we have been away. It's £10 cheaper than last year, and as an ex employee they kindly deduct the usual £25 admin fee.
so it's not often I can find a cheaper policy. Will be a chance to catch up with them in the office too.Had an email back from a CL this morning, pitch available so that's a weekend away booked for September

Enjoy your walk & lazy birdwatching Wherenext

Off to the dentist this morning. My appointment was cancelled last week as my dentist had hurt his hand. I didn't fancy going to a one handed dentist
. It is to have a new tooth put in to replace one I had to have out a few months ago. I am not sure how that is going to go

Lovely day here again but you are all making me feel lazy, I didn't get up early and I am still sat here in my PJ's catching up on here

OH also catching up on some admin then it will be for me, the garden and for him probably his shed
after that he has the monthly lunch club that he helps out with. I will be escaping to B&Q and other shops while he is doing that
might manage a bike ride this afternoon. The wind from yesterday has dropped so it may well be feeling hotter today but nothing like some of you have.
H&T good result on the insurance

Brue you must be needing another trip with all that's going on.
Millie good luck at the dentist.
WN have a nice walk.

Lovely morning here. Bit of a moan first thing, had to get 2 x front tyres for Mrs One’s car. Probably less than 9000 miles so plenty of thread but sidewalls perishing. Brought mid range tyres at £60/each as just not worth putting anything else on.
Hope everyone enjoying this weather but don’t forget to slap on the sun screen
Happy anniversary Goldie and OH enjoy your day😍🥂🍾

Warming up here.

Off out for a drive to Welltrough Hall Farm CL and the surrounding area to do some checking on things prior to our stay next week.
Happy anniversary Goldie. Enjoy your day folks.

Off to our Pensioners Summer Lunch today at the Double Tree Hotel which is part of the Stadium MK complex in Milton Keynes. Hope it's not too hot. The restaurant overlooks the football pitch.

Taking Mum for a cut and set today. She hates it up to the point of actually getting there, but then happily chats away to hairdresser. She still looks after her own hair in between visits, she is so agile for an 89 year old! Hope I have inherited those genes.....
