A case of fiddling while Rome burns.

The new logo appears on my PC but it is still the old logo on my laptop.

Somehow, I can't help thinking that the boss at dinner2go will not see it that way. I'll just continue to get a delivery fee per delivery and nothing else! If the boss had his way, he would have us stay in town all the time waiting for orders but I insist on going home when there are no orders. However, it will be a different story when we stay at Redhill for the next three weeks. Home will be too far away to nip back for a cup of tea.

Plenty of traffic lights and roundabouts up here too Malcolm, having visited Edinburgh you will surely know that.
Obviously fewer in the country areas, but that is the same over the whole of UK.
The "slower pace" is due to the fact that the roads are not motorway/dual carriageway in many areas, have more bends and more hills, so not designed for fast driving, but they still need the same, if not even more care and attention. I do not think you can relax at all while driving.
If you plan to drive slowly just to admire the scenery you may well give caravaners a bad name as you will be holding up other traffic.
If you get a long tail behind you and an empty road ahead, you really do need to pull over and let the traffic pass. This may not be easy as large enough stopping places may be few and far between.
Best plan is to keep up with the traffic as far as possible, observing the speed limits of course.

Monthly bill paying this morning - seeing the bank balance slide down.
The Discovery went in for it's annual service and MOT this morning, so I'm currently car-less (nit that I as going anywhere . . ).
At least when it's returned it will be clean and shiny (not exactly FOC as I'm sure the cost - and collection/delivery service - is reflected in the service cost)

Yes but I won't be visiting Edinburgh on this occasion, my itinerary will be more around the west coast, north and Highlands most of which will be countryside area. Perhaps there are some changes since I lasted visited 30 years ago when I toured the Trossachs area. There was hardly any traffic then but I guess there's more traffic now from what you say.

Yes, lots of tourists, buses, lorries, local people going about their daily life in that area these days.
Main roads will be busy, the smaller roads less so, pretty much the same as anywhere else. The further north you go, the less busy it will be as the population is more sparse. But there are still roundabouts and traffic lights north of the central belt.
We have not been to Worthing, but have visited Brighton and other south coast areas. The towns are busy, like towns here, but we did not feel that the main roads were too bad, but then we live just outside Glasgow.
What we do notice when touring is the marked decrease in motorway traffic as you get towards Carlisle and beyond. Of course it increases again as you get nearer Glasgow.

I remember when I previously stayed at Altnaharra 30 years ago, it was 20 miles to the nearest shop and petrol station. So you had to get well stocked with fuel and provisions. Perhaps that's changed too.

We're just doing our first order today. It's a Cafe Pitti order. Cafe Pitti do all day breakfasts mainly.

Bakers, he did look at fitting an under slung tank but decided against it in the end. We have 2 Calor lites one full, one empty just now, we will give the empty one away, but retain the full one as a back up and for the BBQ, they both fit easily in the gas box so no problem there. As we had been told anyone who has DIY skills can fit these systems.

Don't think that's changed at all Malc, apart from round the cities you usually don't get any motorways or even dual carriageways up here. As Kj said mostly single roads then the narrow passing place ones. The road we were on yesterday is one of the main routes A93 the state of the road in some places was terrible, this road is the main road to the ski area of Glenshee and then onto Braemar, so is in constant use. Its lovely scenery for the passenger but the driver really cannot afford to take his eyes off the road. The road edges are completely shot in many places, at others there are huge boulders trying to protect the edges, grates that have collapsed, bridges that are very tight etc. you will have to be very careful towing on these kinds of roads or your caravan is going to take a knock.

Thanks Tammy. I have done that and it worked.

Spending some time today getting the final things together for the solicitor, who is acting for us in the sale of my mums house. Required to pay her care home costs. We have not moved for over 30 years and you seem to require a lot more now than then. It is also further complicated by being leasehold, which seems to require another raft of paperwork. All sorted now though, so just need to wait for any questions back from buyers solicitor and for them to get the money together.

Thank you for your comments yesterday, Malcolm,
sadly I could not afford the Globecar Campervans
that I like { They have the sliding side door on
the Driver's side and it also has a Silent closing
Mechanism -- both of which would suit me a treat }
Further round I came across Stand 2000 A K A
C A M C !! Walked past it twice before I realised it
was US !! Saw nobody I knew** apart from some
Foreign Cheese Retailers who only recognised me
because I was already carrying one of their marked
shopping bags / cum rucsacs . The show was a bit
of a let down this year, so might be my last trip
down there !
** Never even got to offer a CT --er a Coffee and
Danish alas !!

Oh I thought you NEC visitors might be given goody bags with the new logo splashed all over it.
SteveL I sympathise with you over selling your Mum's property. I had to do the same a couple of years ago, also leasehold. In fact I had to sell another property at the same time so it was a bit of a nightmare. Now I see the proceeds vanishing every month in fees but at least I know my Mum is getting the care she needed. Hope you see an end to the paperwork soon.
Have a good evening everyone. I'm just getting over a migraine that has left me feeling a bit queasy, so I'm lying low for the evening.

I finish work soon now for today. Just doing the last two orders both of which are KFC and then home to steak and chips washed down with French red wine, followed by apple crumble with custard.

Just had a brilliant day around Canary Wharf in London. Docklands Museum was excellent, well laid out and a good exhibition of artefacts discovered whilst building the Crossrail. Weatherspoons up to their usual excellent standard, transport (DLR) frequent. Many old historic sites to see. Fancy, living on a houseboat and walking 100 yds. or so to work!
If you are coming down to London, try to visit it

Hope you feel better tomorrow brue. My Mum used to suffer with migranes. Very debilitating.

Brue I hope you feel better tomorrow. I used to suffer but touch wood haven't had one for ages gradually decreased with my age and hot flushes 😉. Not sure I can type the m word on this site. Stress didn't help either.
SteveL I hope all goes well with the sale.
I finished creating book from a printed panel for youngest granddaughter really pleased with it. I think i mentioned when I read the edge it had nz www. So it came from there and will return. Not sure when I'll send it over.
Have booked a hair cut with a salon as our hairdresser confirmed on Sunday, using another number her phone had problems again, that appointment still on but failed to arrive and she's not contacted since. I did have another contact for her , a family member, they tried to contact her and said sorry we'd been let down. That's the third time in about a year and we've used her for three years or more 🙄. Only went to home visits when the shop she worked at was closed by owner.

Since having what, initially, was a suspected TIA but is thought to be more likely the side effect of a doubling of dosing of a blood pressure treatment I have finally been discharged from further appointments and test at The Elderly Clinic. After a one day, a one week, and a two week session of wearing a heart monitor, ultrasound scan, brain scan, two ECGs, several blood tests, echocardiogram, chest X-Ray and several clinical reviews I have finally been discharged. Whoever thought of naming a clinic that deals with stroke victims and heart conditions etc as The Elderly Clinic could probably get a job with CC, as was, promoting the club. No abnormalities shown, cholesterol levels shown as 4.1, 4, and 3.9 on the different occasions and heart and brain images normal.
Counting the 3 trips to return heart monitors I have had 18 visits to the hospital in 12 months not counting 3 visits regarding my eyes. I was going to ask to be discharged but was pleased that they themselves suggested it.
As I think I may have said previously, with taking the two cars in for MOT/Service, taking and collecting caravan from annual service, 4 dental hygiene appointments, 3 dental appointments, the 3 visits regarding my eyes and 3 financial appointments that is appointments on 34 occasions. We are only home for 35 weeks of the year and so that is one appointment per week nearly. Thank the lord that I no longer work!
