Weather much better today, glad those who have been away have had a good time and that journeys home or onward are ok,

Trip to Maplin to return duff batteries got refund as no other now in stock,

Then on to car dealer as one of the "smart" keys not working, fresh battery sorted it, While the service manger was "explaining" some "goodies"on car that i am too old to understandundecided,he noticed minor dent in rear door,so has arranged for a company to come to our house to sort it(at their costlaughing, and fitted a new set of windscreen wipers also at their expense as he noticed some minor streaks on screencool i did not think there was a problem,he said it should have been picked up when MOT was done, surprised

one thing he did mention was that they can see problems with new mot requirements as some are down to the discretion of the mot fitteryell

Yes, ABM and Bakers,  very handy having a mechanic around. wink

Got home from work, car now has new brake pads all round, better safe than sorry. Depending on our route at weekend we may be travelling down a steep hill in the Cotswolds,  which wouldn't have very good with no brakes! surprised

Glad you've now hot your new car JVB66  hope towing is more successful.

Sorry you are car less again Bakers, hope all goes well with Motorhome MOT and you  can start getting away.

Dry day today and a day for going to the skip, several bags of garden waste taken and dumped. smile

The onto retail park to get a few bits and pieces, OH got his net cover for the trailer, I didn't have any luck buying a tool to help me take out and put back in the buttons on the MH seat cushions. I wanted to take the covers off for washing but getting the buttons out and then back in again looked to be a problem.

Several visits to different shops no joy, then a visit to upholsterer to be told "you cant do that" they can't be re-used. However he said if I was to take to him after cutting them off he would make new buttons and fit them for me, ha! he must think I came up the Clyde in a banana boat. Anyway long story shortish we've done it, cover and buttons removed (and practiced putting back on again) cover in washing machine for a nice gentle 30c wash. Just to let it dry normally and hope it doesn't shrink undecided

OH has been busy in the shed cutting the high bits off the wheel ramps, something he saw done on another forum and thought it would be a good idea to do ours, must say they look a better fit for the tyres, so we will try them out at the end of the week if we manage to get away.

OH has a meeting Wednesday evening that he must attend or we would be off on Wednesday, so here's hoping Thursday/Friday/Saturday will be ok.

Bit of gardening done today, well not garden as its too wet still but I've weeded the big skelp of chippings we have around the side of the house and given them a rake, they look much better for it. Didn't think there was that many weeds until I got on hands and knees.

Time to go and start dinner, honey glazed salmon with noodles and stir fry veg.

Surely the 'high bits' on a wheel ramp are to stop the m/h from over-running the end of the ramps?

We have had such a good time with the NI family including an excellent trip to the circus and a birthday party for grand-daughter which involved most of DIL's large family 😲We had a good journey home with no hold ups. OH has given the grass a hair cut and I have done a load of washing. Another load tomorrow.

Sorry you are without your car again bakers2. Hope you get it back soon.

Glad you now have new brake pads on the car Helen. Where are you off to?

Enjoy the good weather everyone 😎

The one at the top still remains the same, its the ones in between that the OH has taken the sharp bit off. We and others have found that it dug into the tyres instead of the tyre sitting cupped as they should be. Much better now.

It  was  a  "Power  Wash"  today --  different  system  for  me  !

I  remember  the  bulb  and 'spoon like'  backing  with  just  hand  power.  Now  it's  a  ' Pulsating  jet'  with  adjustable  power  + heating  of  the  water.  All  Very  Modern  I  must  say,  but,  alas,  like  sooo  much  modern  hi-tech  stuff  Deleted User,  Deleted User,  Deleted User  useless !!  so  back  in  a  three-week  !  Well,  along  with  other  things  I'll  have  lots  to  take  my  mind  off  the  double  filling  and  the  Review  with  Doc.  No  two  ways  about  it,  I'm  having  lots  of  time  to  read  all  the  notices  in  the  surgery  waiting  room.  They'd  be  really  useful  if  I  was  pregnant  or  a  50-a-day  smoker,  or  Heaven  forfend,  both surprisedembarassed.  N H S  Strikes  again  !!

Glad that you've got home safe and sound, millie, Kjell & Francis. It sounds as if you've all had good trips.

Enjoy your stay at Bromyard Downs, H&T. Great walking for the dog on the downs and over at Lower Brockhampton. Glad that Trevor notice the problem with the brakes and was able to get them fixed.

Pity about the car, B2 sure hope that it doesn't take too long to fix and it doesn't cost the earth.

We are now ensconced on our pitch at Englethwaite CC site, the first stop on our Scottish trip. Site's nearly half full with more caravans than M/Hs. weather's been good today with some sunshine but it's still cool when it goes in. Just had a rain shower this evening, hope that this is not a sign of things to come. Hope that it warms up somewhat, as promised.

I am so sorry for you HD, we have been through the same terrible illness, first with my Father in Law, then my Mother in Law. As you say the only thing to do is make his remaining days memorable ones.

My in laws dying at a very young age, and my OH recent health scare has made us more determined to enjoy life, and prioritise what is important.

My best wishes to you and your family.

Caravan emptied for service.  Will leave here pm tomorrow and stop off a couple of POI on the way.  Will overnight in a lay-by to arrive at dealers early as possible Thursday.😵

Didn’t make it to the beach yesterday so went to daughters and took grandtwins onto the marshes. Watch the Rhea’s and also lambs.  Watched the trains and boats and waved to the folk.  Temperature got up to 16C🌞

Haircut this morning now going into the garden which is looking so much better already

You are jesting about overnighting in a lay by? If you'e emptied the van what will you sleep under or drink/eat from?

Doesn't matter if you didn't get cycle ride in, but you and the grandtwins got exercise and fresh air regardless. 😉

Glad we had things to do in town this morning as the roofer has arrived for a job that is likely to take 2 days. Most of the banging is taking place today, I hope, but the weather up here in North Wales is not the best, persistent rain but roofer says it's quite good as the rain is a lot warmer than what he is used to.smile

Anybody in the South East got some nice weather to spare?

Lovely day today sun quite warm although a bit breezy,it has dried out quite well for Walkies ,in fact when coming down the hill from the church a gust of wind coming up the valley caused a dust devil on the gravel pathsurprised

Dust devil? Don't believe you 😂😂😂.

As I post on what have you seen thread my first Brimstone of the year whilst eating lunch outside. In fact sun burning through jeans and sweatshirt needs removing - trip indoors needed otherwise I'll frighten the natives!

Just had the call car's ready to collect. I'll leave that to OH. An hour on my own 😆😃.
