Great news your garden passed the hedgehog check, Bakers2 sounds like you might be playing "cupid" to a couple of hedgehogs then.wink

We had a light dinner this evening of just soup as we were still a little full from the roast lamb at lunch. The weather seems to have improved this evening. There's blue sky amongst a few clouds but the light is rapidly fading.

I checked all my accounts today. Finances are starting to look a lot better. Overdrafts all paid off following Pizza Hut pay, state pension pay, monthly gift from eldest brother and tomorrow my civil service pension will bring my bank account well into credit. However, my annual fee for Green Flag Mayday breakdown cover is due next week, £103 to be paid. So hopefully, I can earn some money in tips over this bank holiday weekend! That plus my CSP might just about cover it. Tomorrow I'll need to fill the Smart car tank which I reckon will cost about £27. I'm down to a quarter of a tank so not enough to cover another shift. However, there is interest free credit available on my Tesco Club credit card which will do the trick!

On 6th April when our 21 days here are up, we'll need to pay £54.80 for two nights at Littlehampton CMC site, so another hit on Tesco Club credit card thereby keeping my bank accounts in credit so no more overdraft interest to pay.

By next payday, I will be making inroads into reducing the credit card balances.

With our seasonal pitch and its cost savings, the future is starting to look a whole lot brighter!

We don't have to make appointments for our x ray dept, just turn up anytime as long as you have a slip or the Dr has previously informed them.

We get text messages from optician and dentist but hospital and Dr's haven't progressed to that yet. Don't get anything from Bank.

We seem to be getting the better weather for a change, we've had another decent day today, not sunny hot but decent enough to be able to go out with just a fleece top on.

Housework all morning and some machine washing. This afternoon I made 2 Easter cards for the Gkids. After that I managed 2 hours in the front garden. OH went for a little walk down to the chemist to pick up his prescription of painkillers and took the cards to post for me, took him ages to get back home as kept stopping to talk to folk.

I made soup for lunch, chicken and noodle smile

That sounds wonderful Goldie.  We are great fans of Chris Difford. I hope you have a wonderful time. Have a good night this evening as well.

Good news on the hedgehog front Bakers2. Hopefully you will have Arbuthnot with you soon.  Sorry to hear about your car and your cancelled trip to see your son.

Sorry to hear that your car is under performing JVB.  We are thinking of updating our tow car and despite the heavy tax on diesels we think we will stick with a diesel engine while we are still towing. Lots of financial planning to do before we take the plunge though.

Another lovely, sunny day in West Wales, temperature today reached 10deg, Went into the local town, market day, so did some local produce shopping. Bought local Welsh Lamb, a bit pricy, but I am putting money into the pocket of a local farmer.

Also bought things to put in the caravan. OH's wallet had a good airing today.

I suppose you could call it a main course soup but a homemade one rather than one out of a tin!

That following your 'soup' of Noodles with meatballs, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and celery.

That's a full meal in our house. 😲😲

Homemade soup is often on our menu but it is liquid having been liquidised. Left overs frozen for future quick meals.

    Can' take underlining off 😤

Edit: I've taken off the underlining for you.  Regards.  David (DSB)

Sorry to hear that you'll not be heading north of the border this year, HD. Maybe after the sale goes through you'll be able to have an extended stay up there. There's just so much to see that a few weeks aren't ample time to fit it all in.

That's the way it should be once retired Husky, its amazing how our first trip after retiring was 3 weeks and we thought  at the time, it lasted for ever. Nowadays we don't go abroad for anything less than 4 weekslaughing

I know you're talking about Scotland but we live there so going to France for us is as far as for you coming up here.

Looking at Google JVB it would not be a major distance further taking a northerly looping route, using the A44 towards Evesham. Then A46 towards Coventry and A45/M45 to M1. Although a few hills, I don't think there is anything as significant as Fish Hill.

Tammygirl - we should all be thinking of the environment and the diminishing fossil fuels so it would be better if you stayed in Scotland and Husky went to France instead.  laughing innocent

Anyone watch Secret Eaters last night, the couple couldn't understand how they were putting on weight when they were eating healthy and small portions. The camera followed them 24/7. His healthy breakfast - Special K with banana THEN double cream, and jam, his daily allowance gone in one meal,  in one day he had 2 takeaways plus and evening meal. She ate a packet of biscuits herself in a couple of hours, after an evening meal. They were keeping a food diary but they forgot half of what they ate, and no record of portion size. They were given a healthy eating plan and exercise programme. After losing the weight they looked so fit and well. As a result of the programme I have put a padlock on the biscuit barrel and a siren on the cake tin.
