I think its a bit early to start serious planning and booking for our main trip this year but it won't be long before I start. More Scottish islands - the Outer Hebrides this time.

We took the MH for a run yesterday and it was glorious way down west.

I've been told by the salesman that it has satnav and rear view camera. These are both improvements on my existing car. With my existing car, the drop money plus tips is NOT enough money to cover the cost of the unleaded petrol that the car uses let alone other costs such as servicing, tyres, repairs, insurance etc. So it needs to be changed for an electric version regardless of what other facilities are offered by the electric car. Therefore, I don't need to know anything more about it than what I've already been told.

Yep, just what I was saying several pages back!

Stupid decision by someone not to have them on the rear too.

Lost count of how many vehicles we have seen recently with only lights at the front even in the dark.

We have our main holiday booked for this year 2 weeks on the Isle of Wight in July. We also have a few other trips booked throughout the year but hopefully we will have plenty of other weekends away. We are thinking of heading down to Keswick for a few days in February we done that last year and it was great the lakes are lovely at this time of year and not too busy.

A bit late now, but did you not realise this before  you bought the present vehicle, or before you took the job?

And have you been keeping mileage records for the deliveries?  Now you are paying some tax you will be able to claim some tax relief on your delivery mileage.

It may not be a huge amount, but every little helps.

I suppose that would depend on whether the site fees they get are enough to finance the installation of HSs and an all weather access road to said HSs.  Perhaps the wet weather is unusual and ground conditions are normally OK?

We would be  coming in summer, so not such a problem, but we still prefer some HS, at least where the van sits.  I take it your summer seasonal pitch is on grass?

I will look further at the CLs in the area, not yet read all the reviews.  Had a look at the local CSs too, but most seemed to be grass, and many with no EHU.

I will be doing the same KjellNN as my son is moving down there. We both might end up on the same site as Malcolm.

10 years ago we spent a month in Australia, after flying to Aires Rock then Adelaide we hired a motorhome and drove from Adelaide, Melbourne to Sidney, as it was their Winter we could just pull in and stop wherever we fancied. All their sites are geared for outdoor living, with barbecue area, communal kitchens and outdoor eating areas. We had a fantastic time.

Yes, all seasonal pitches both summer and winter are grass but reliable grass. They don't cancel your pitch because of a bit of rain!

Brighter day here today, need to go out to collect prescriptions.

OH says we are doing filing and admin later to clear space for cutting fabric for the cot and pram sheets.

Taking all the recently arrived stuff to DD's house tomorrow now she has the little bedroom organised, so have loaded up the car while weather is good.

She also has more pictures for me to hang, better pack some tools too.

A dry day with only a slight Easterly breeze in Kent ,some broken cloud and sunshine at the B/yd.Went to the storage later and fitted the new tailgate rams ,Oh Boy !!  That'll be an upper arm workout every time i open or close !! surprised. They should last longer than the last pair (just over a year !!) These are said to be good for five at least,,but also are adjustable/re-gasable too.wink.

Local shopping this morning, so walking rather than the car. Considering that my thermometer said it was 5.4C it felt a lot colder. Possibly because it is so grey and damp.

Optician this afternoon, who said the cataract in my right eye has progressed sufficiently for me to be referred. Although she stressed this was the easy bit, as they then have to agree to do it, plus of course the time scale. Hopefully, within the next year as it is starting to become a pain when driving, particularly at night. Although I try and avoid that where possible. Just out of interest I looked what BUPA charge, pick your own date. It was circa £3000.☹️So I think I will investigate the NHS time scale first.

Not a great day weather wise today, very grey and dull. Not been out the house other than to feed the birds. OH went out briefly to do a job for someone in the time bank.

Today I have been having a clear out of cupboards, drawers and wardrobes, not as much thrown out as would have liked but cannot throw stuff that is still good and I likefrown. Might tackle the attic bedroom tomorrow, its had all sorts of things put in it and I want it cleared out and re-decorated. This is the room that I have used as a craft room for many years but want to get it sorted back to a bedroom again.

We are also thinking of going to Keswick for a few days when we head off in a week or so 's time. That's if the weather behaves OH has just told me there might be a very cold front coming in at the weekend frown

Brue, glad you are feeling a bit better and managing to get out and about again.

Bakers2, nice to hear from you again, weather seems to be nice and warm for you, hope you don't get too tired looking after the Gkids. We have just had 2 weeks with ours staying with us, took me awhile to get into the swing of it but by the end I actually felt better for being busy.

Francis, do the other club charge you extra if you take a car with you behind a MH? we've just joined them so have no experience of them yet.Looking forward to trying some different sites and areas.

    Hi TG

When we were there last year we still had our MH and took the car with us and there was no charge it is worth taking the car to the area as there is plenty to see but the parking for MHs isnt great. We have our Cvan now so no choice but to take the car lol

ABM we have the black caps playing here in town later in January and the rugby sevens in February. Neither games interest us 😲😲. Ticket prices extremely reasonable, bed here if you want to pop over 😉

They do speak English but abbreviate where ver possible 😲. Avenue is always Ave,  supermarket is supy and on it goes. Even the One Day International is abbreviated to ODI on the sports news. So sometimes it takes a while to decipher 😂.

Off with friend to Raglan today, OH favourite beach - not it's black sand. Also surfers favourite place just round the corner as I understand waves break and run in opposite direction to the majority of surfing beaches. Possibly a lefthand curl? We have learnt from the surfers in previous years. Of course it could be a wind up 😉😲😂. Brue I'll nod to your relatives, rellies, as we pass on the way.

Pleasantly cool this morning with a refreshing breeze. Very thundery last evening but no rain. Grass already browning again.

Thanks Francis, usually take the car on tow in the UK as we need it when going to visit the boys, no room for the MH at either of their houses.

Glad that you are enjoying being back with a caravan smile
