What are you all up to

Yes @DSB I have had notification emails this morning as well. Glad you got to Pembrokeshire OK. Such a lovely area. Goodness you are doing a lot of driving this summer.
I hope your brother's op goes well @Oneputt and that your grand-daughter enjoys the tournament and does well. Also hope you have a good trip away.
We had rain yesterday afternoon. A few bursts of very heavy rain. Every little helps and we didn't have to water the garden last night. Bright and sunny so far this morning.

@Oneputt hope things go well for your brother.
We have an apple glut as well, both here and at Mums. We cook and freeze a lot of ours, I love cooked apple with a dollop of yoghurt for dessert. Supermarkets tend to sell only a few varieties, so it’s nice to get good home grown more unusual varieties. Squirrels pinched last of our plums😡
@richardandros the cat photo is taken in Folkestone, sent to me by a friend.

@Takethedogalong - doubt very much that Lincoln would have wandered that far!🤣

Missed a few posts but I hope all goes well for @Oneputt and his brother.
We've actually had a good rainfall this afternoon after some light rain this morning. I know it was heavier than this mornings because I got caught in it.😁
Autumn definitely on the way as MiL just had to buy a new "bear' to keep her warm. She wears them in the house as it's too warm inside for the heating to come but too cold for her not to feel chilly.

Bit of a showery day here in Pembroke, so a trip up to Llys-y-fran Reservoir. The place has changed a little.. Nice new cafe and gift shop, but more car restriction access.
P.S. Internet here is pretty poor... won't load the photos, I'm afraid... ☹️

Periods of heavy rain interspersed with light showers and the occasional dry periods today. No chance of getting anything done outside so spent quite a while searching for sites for the second half of our next trip.
I too notice that the notification has appeared under the bell this morning, but there are still anomalies with the dates of the latest posts in some sections.

Just back from todays outing up to St Govan's Head and St Govan's Chapel.....
....around to Freshwater West...
....and on to West Angle Bay... including the cafe with Welsh Cakes!!
...a lovely day.... but a bit breezy to sit out for too long....

Have a restful weekend away @Francis regardless of the weather.
More grand photos @DSB you also seem to have found one of the sunnier parts of the country for this trip. It looks very quiet down there.
It has been fined for most of the day after more rain through the night. We took 8 15kg bags of garden waste, two old DVD players and a TV, along with other odds and ends to the recycling centre this morning before another walk on the old slag bank with Flyte this morning before I started on polishing the car. With the car out in the sun I couldn't complete the job, then disaster struck as I managed to drive smack into our backdoor step and punctured one of the new tyres!! 😫😫😫 It looks as if I will need another new tyre, and will find out tomorrow when the tyre fitted comes round. It is going to be an expensive week!

Thanks @nelliethehooker. Today hasn't been too bad, but a bit breezy with a couple of showers. I think tomorrow may well be worse...

Oh dear @nelliethehooker That sounds as though it might be a bit costly. These things happen to easily and quickly. Hope you can get it sorted without too much expense.
Such lovely photos again @DSB. You are visiting some wonderful places this summer.
Bright, fresh and sunny morning here so far. We had rain yesterday but not the deluge that some areas had. Our garden is looking much happier. I swear I can see the grass growing as I look at it. I have sciatica at the moment. It came on last weekend and is pretty painful. I have had a couple of visits to the chiripractor this week and it is easing off. Another appointment booked for Monday. We are going away at the end of the week so I hope it is considerably better by then.
Hope you have a good weekend @Francis and that the weather picks up for you.

@milliehull thanks had some rain overnight but not too bad this morning it’s brightened up a bit.
Didn’t do much last night we just watched tv and had a few drinks in the van might go a wander round the town later this afternoon. Site not too busy you can tell we are getting in to autumn now

Sorry to hear about your mishap @nelliethehooker - just look on the bright side, though😎 - it could have been the bodywork which would have been far worse! At least just a tyre is an easy fix.
Having got back home on Thursday afternoon, spent this morning giving the inside of the van a deep clean - everything now sparkling. We've had some spectacular showers over the last couple of days. Yesterday afternoon, I realised I had left the roof lights open in the van because it was so hot - then the rain came with a vengeance. The van is only about three yards from the house front door and I got absolutely soaked dashing out there to close the vents!
Unusually, we haven't got any more trips away planned until Christmas, so I'll have to get cracking on that.
Hope you're soon feeling better @milliehull and that the chiropractor manages to sort you out.

So sorry to hear about the car @nelliethehooker - hope they manage to sort the tyre.... Hope the sciatica will be a bit easier for when you go away @milliehull . Enjoy the trip planning, @richardandros... we have nothing planned after our current trip... just got some dates for short breaks pencilled in!

It’s all happening here😱 Road around corner from us all taped off as a crime scene, more police around than I actually thought SYorks employed. Gunshots apparently, but no one hurt. Then last night, OH got up and went to our scanning tower (the attic) and came down to say he could hear fire engines pumping. A big Care Home on fire close by, thankfully empty.
We take leave of my lovely little Mini today, been a grand little car. It’s going to a niece as a second run around, as she keeps her converted Berlingo for holidays.

Not too bad in the morning, got the new mahogany joining strip made for the new LVT flooring in the little upstairs toilet. It will sit against the landing carpet, which will be fixed down with double sided tape, and will overlap the edge of the tile. Just one tile to fit first, need to oil the strip, screw it in place, then get some silicone to seal between skirting and floor.
Wet this afternoon. We had a visit from DD and the boys, they had planned to visit a local fun day, but the weather put them off, so OH asked if they wanted to come here instead. DD had spent the morning cutting back stuff in her garden, so was very tired as the boys had her up early, so I got the boys to look after while she relaxed.
Late dinner, and now we are making ice cream.

It's always a bit traumatic when you get Police in droves turning up in the neighbourhood @Takethedogalong. Hope things have calmed down now. We had them a few years ago at the street next to ours. The tenant had crashed his car on the A55 locally whilst drunk and they went to his house only to find a huge Cannabis Farm. Apparently he was living in the car as there was no space in the house. We didn't know anything about it otherwise it would have made a local supplier for us instead of having to traipse to town.🤣
Been quiet around here. The weather was pretty awful today but the garden enjoyed it. Had a blood test yesterday and had the results at 10pm last night by logging onto my health account. It makes some sense of why I've been drained of energy this last week.
Sorting out some of the photos that needed cataloguing and came across one to share. You may know I like a bit of Street sculpture so this tickled my fancy.
Hope the sciatica clears up soon @milliehull at least in time for your break. A very painful thing to have according to Mrs.WN.

Ouch @nelliethehooker. That must have hurt the wallet. When do you actually start your next sojourn?

Interesting goings on here too @Takethedogalong with police, firemen and an ambulance just down the road from home, but no gunfire thankfully, and no word yet of what was going on. Hope your niece will look after the mini as well as you will have done.
Hope the rain has not spoilt the day for those away in their units.
Pleased to read that the treatment is helping to ease your sciatica @milliehull, hope it is soon cleared up.
The tyre fitted arrived mid morning and as nothing could be done to repair the damage tyre he replaced it with another new one, so another hit on the debit card! As you said @richardandros it could have been much more expensive had I damaged the car's bodywork. It was better that it occurred yesterday as would not got it fixed till Monday and I would have had to postpone the car's service and MOT until who one's when.
@Wherenext providing all is well with the MOT etc. we will be heading off on Wednesday. We have not booked our first site yet, just in case we have to delay our departure.

Ouch in a few different ways😕 @milliehull I get Sciatica occasionally, and it’s awful when it really persists, so hope you get sorted out. Different ouch to the wallet @nelliethehooker, but better a tyre than bodywork.
Love the bike rack @Wherenext and the lovely mosaics in the window. Hope your weather stays nice next week, as the Tof B is highlighting Wales, in honour of Geraint Thomas. It’s his very last race, so think the crowds will be out, plus there are more big names like Remco and Julian Alaphilippe taking part again. We would have been over there if it wasn’t for circumstances, but hey ho………Ineos Grenadiers are wearing specially designed shirts to honour G, including a very lovely little drawing of G on the podium, drawn by his little son. Very special. Chris Froome might have been there as well, but of course is now in hospital.
Extra day off for me today, so as it’s nice here, some pool maintenance and gardening planned, OH will be Jeep tinkering.

Aren't most of the stages in Wales in the South @Takethedogalong? I thought it was heading across from Suffolk to Cardiff. If so we'll not be getting anywhere near them. Funnily enough whilst looking through some old albums the other day I came across a few of the action in the TdF when we were staying on a campsite at the base of the Col de Tourmalet when it went through the small town of Luz-St-Saveur.
Very windy out there this morning. OH accompanied MiL on a walk through the village just in case she did her Mary Poppins impersonation. Rain just starting to set in. Most admin jobs finished so I might indulge myself in an hour of being confused by jigsaw pieces.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.

Sorry, yes it is further South than where you are.
Rain has stopped outdoor play here, but I won’t complain, we still badly need it.

We got home this morning from a lovely weekend at Ayr Craigie Gardens club site our first trip out in the van since we got back from Norfolk at the beginning of the month. Weather not great but nice to be away again. Easy half hour tow home today although the wind was picking up a bit. Van now back in it’s space won’t be away again now until the end of the month. Just a bit of info for anyone who uses Craigie the site is not opening until a bit later next year (April) as they are redeveloping the site and building a new toilet block this is great news as it’s a great site in a good location but has been a bit down at heel for the past few years
Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend

It has been a nearly dry breezy day here with just a short shower, so good for getting the washing dry. Not done an awful lot, a bit of a weeding, getting the odd thing into the van ready for our next trip and watching some of the Women's Rugby.
Glad to read that you enjoyed your stay at Ayr and have got home safely @Francis

Sorry to read if all the drama @Takethedogalong . It sounds like otber have been having a similarly showery day to us here in Pembrokeshire. We've just been up to Saundersfoot today, and apart from dodging showers and sitting out overlooking the beach for a while, managed to find 'the obligatory' cafe... 😀😀.
Showers are really quite short, but really heavy.... just had another, beating down on the caravan roof!!

Things have calmed down now round here thankfully. Fool with a gun in custody, Care home gutted, but was almost empty, so that might turn out to be an insurance job🤨 Ten engines there though, so it was a big fire. We drove through an area of the Borough festooned with flags, locals appear to have decided to have a “patriotic” weekend. We have taken to scanning estate agent windows………………Mind I’d need a big lorry to take my plants as well🤭

Glad to hear things are better, your end @Takethedogalong .
We've been accross to Broad Haven today. Still too breezy to sit out for any length of time, so we sat for a while overlooking tbe beach before going for our hot drink and cake...
Apart from a few days, here and there, we've been away since the start of July, and I've only had one ice cream.... at Roskilly's in Cornwall, while at our first site..... so time for another today... whilst at our last site... and it was a Cornish ise cream (in Wales!!)
Then we drove around to a couple of places we haven't been for years... Marloes and Martin's Haven...
...finishing at Dale....
