Another beautiful sunny day after early mist which soon broke up. Clouds came over during the late afternoon but soon pass over and now the skies mostly clear and turning pink. Out for a 2 hr walk up onto Conic Hill, above Loch Lomond, from the site after breakfast. Lazy afternoon, enjoying the sunshine & getting ready for our move on to the CC's Clachan site at Killin.

Woke to a misty morning but at least it was dry. Managed to find Carrefour open this morning most unusual but welcome as we needed fresh milk. Good drive down to Orange, arrived at 2.30pm, site owner not around but sign on door said " chose pitch and see me later" its a 'new' to Acsi camping card site 15 euro, nice and quiet with good big pitches, will do nicely for tonight and may return later for a longer stay to have a look around the area. Off to the Med coast tomorrow heading for La Croix-Valmer area first then we may go further East. Lots of Dutch out and about everywhere the Netherlands must be empty
Hope everyone has a good time where ever they are.
Bakers, sorry to hear your still not feeling great, hope it gets better soon, good news on NZ trip
H&T, hope the new van arrives soon and you can get away and try it out, hope you have some breaks planned.
MillieH have a good time in Norfolk and that it does stay dry for you.

Lovely day today, but a bit of an odd week. We were away in the caravan over the MayDay weekend and due to return home on Tuesday. Unfortunately we got the caravan key stuck in the lock on Monday. We eventually got it out, but the found we couldn't unlock the caravan from the outside with a key. Raymond James managed to get us a new lock for Wednesday afternoon, but we had to stay on site an extra night as we couldn't risk taking the caravan back to storeage and leave the door unlocked.
We had our usual round of end of week and weekend commitments, plus a concert on Saturday night. Back from visiting MIL this afternoon. Time to open a bottle of Prossecco with a take away pizza tonight (Malcolm would be proud of us! 😂)
Fairly busy week coming up this week too.
Not been on CT much this week, so best wishes to all. Hope I've not missed much.

We visited Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, NT and had a picnic lunch in the picnic area there. We didn't visit Batemans because we realised we'd visited it before this year.
The gardens and estate were much larger than we expected and took up our whole day so that there was no time left to visit anywhere else but I'll remember to visit Lewes and Virginia Wolfe's property next time.
It's now Monday morning and so we'll be hitching up to get back to Worthing.

Seems like a nice meal, David. There seem to be a huge number of Pizza takeaways in Worthing. Apart from Pizza Hut, there's Dominos, Texas Pizza and various other lesser known takeaways that do pizzas and other dishes too. On Thursday my employers gave me a free pizza for doing an eight hour shift. I was allowed to choose, so I chose a meat feast!

Have a nice time, IanH and I hope the weather stays good. Plenty to see and do there. I remember our last visit to the Lake District in 2015.

Another bright sunny day. We're gearing ourselves up for silaging. Maybe later this week.
Meanwhile the bluebells in our wood are at their peak. It's not all grass and cows - we have an ancient oak wood.

With three days off this week, I think WWT might be getting a little bit more of our patronage. Some of the ducklings and goslings will have grown since we last visited. However, we haven't yet seen any cygnets.

We've just finished a light breakfast of tea and cereal as it's now time to pack up the caravan and get hitched ready for our journey to Northbrook Farm CMC site. It's a bit grey and overcast but at least it's not raining which makes it a lot easier.

That's beautiful Goldie.

I had been meaning to show some pictures from our visit to Glendurgan Gardens in Mawnan Smith last week (but couldn't just remember how to do it - so here's hoping this works! )

Now I've remembered how to do it, here are some more from Glendurgan and Trebah just down the road.

Now you're all showing off 😲😲. Beautiful photos.
Thanks for all your good wishes, not so wobbly so far this morning fingers crossed it lasts. We'll be in NZ for new year Christmas at home, prices are silly before! Even flying Christmas day only saved £100 between us on the price we've got. Back after granddaughter 4th birthday. We've already told youngest granddaughter we won't be there for hers, and she's not had her first birthday yet! as 3 winters in one year isn't the same as 3 summers. So we'll celebrate her 2nd too.
Waiting at dentist for hubby who's crown has come off 😲 didn't stop him eating wine gums! Then off to garden centre to suss out a birthday present for a friend hoping I'll find something as I've no other ideas.
Jolly chilly wind here again and very grey again. Did get the sun break through for a couple of hours yesterday and it was so nice. This grey stuff feels oppressive 🙁. But hey ho it's what we've got.

Arrived yesterday in the Black Forest area, a chilly 9.6 degrees here right now, and rather overcast, though the rain has stopped meantime.
More wet than dry days in the last week, so not so good. Almost 4 weeks since we left home now. In the next day or two, we need to decide whether to continue south into Switzerland and Italy, or go east towards southern Germany and Austria.
The site here has metered EHU, anything over 4kwh per day costs 60 cents per kwh, so having filled our bottles on the way here, we are running HW and heating on gas only. Fridge, kettle and toaster plus TV and lights will easily use up our daily 4kwh. We left home with one full and one almost empty bottle and have so far filled just over 24 litres, which is about 12kg. Glad we have a refillable system!
A few problems with the van and equipment.........our 9 year old Fiamma canopy has started parting company with the roller, the Alde system seems to have an intermittent leak, and the alarm system has gone crazy!

Nice to hear from you KjellNN although it sounds like things aren't going quite as you'd like. Knowing how practical you are I'm sure you'll have it sussed very soon. You're certainly not missing real warmth here. Hasn't your 4 weeks gone quickly?

We have been to a "Bauhaus" store and purchased repair tape and patched up the Fiamma, but not yet tested whether it will hold together. We may decide just to dump the whole thing, the bag with the sides and front take up a lot of room in the car and we need to make space for an additional passenger when we return to Amsterdam. Without an awning to unload stuff into, we will struggle to do that.
The roof fabric has a bad case of old age, the sides and front are OK, but I have no idea whether we can buy a new roof only that will fit with the zips on the other pieces.
The Alde is losing fluid, I suspected the auto vent on the boiler as we had trouble with it before, but last night OH found a damp patch on the bathroom carpet, and there seems to have been a small leak under the bed near the boiler. So many pipes and wires and partitions under there, difficult to see what is going on.

Last week I had commented to OH that the alarm battery had never been replaced since new, and then the whole thing went crazy on Friday evening.
To stop it going off I had to unscrew the whole thing and remove the battery, it isn't half loud when you have your head under the seat right next to it, took ages for my ears to recover!
I don't think the neighbours were too pleased either.
Battery was totally gone, so will need to source a new one.
On the plus side, the new car is going very well. We are 717 metres above sea level here, on the way here we were up at 945 metres, with some big hairpins and some 15% gradients, and it sailed through with no problem. Have had it up to the legal 130kph solo on the motorways here and you really do not feel the speed.
Called into a VW dealership here last week to purchase the required sticker for restricted town access, and they provided it without charge!

We've arrived back at Northbrook Farm CMC site and have got settled back into our seasonal pitch. We've got the picnic table and relaxer set up outside but there's a cold wind blowing, so I didn't sit out for too long! We've just had lunch and now a cup of tea.
