Looks as if we're in the right place again! No frost in the night thankfully as we did have a shower in the night. Fine and sunny when we got up so more washing done, and it had dried outside by the time we got back from our walk, along the Raiders Road by Clatteringshaws Res. We managed a second walk from the van just before dinner and It was quite warm. It did cloud up somewhat but have only had a short shower this evening.
Sorry to hear your news, TG, we send you both our condolences, and also hope that son and DIL are soon over the virus.
So it's not just us who have technical problems then, eh, WN. Good to hear that you managed to perform your magic and got the job sorted.
Thanks RedKite and brue, it was a relief to know that nothing major was amiss.
Hope your soon over the infection, millie.
Enjoy your weekend away, H&T.

Thanks WN and nellie. I feel a lot better now. I am glad you enjoyed your trip away for your MIL's birthday WN and glad both of you got your technical problems sorted. There do seem to be a lot of them around. Are there dark forces at work 😳 ?

Condolences from us as well TG.
We have had lots of family members down with COVID this last month. All are either teachers, or in employment where they have to have a lot of interaction with others, so it’s catching them out now. Some have been quite poorly. It’s OH scan on Monday, so hoping we can steer clear for as long as possible. Hard not seeing folks very much, but OH is very high risk.
I hope you are feeling a lot better Millie, you won’t have been very well at all with a UTI☹️
I am busy beavering away at making some jewellery. Been invited to sell at a craft emporium locally, so decided to see how it goes. I can’t stand not being busy making something or other, and with having to wait around on health checks, and looking after Mum, I always have some project on the go, and have got quite a bit of jewellery made using up materials I have had in for a while. Found some lovely freshwater pearls in my stash this afternoon🤗🤗🤗

Condolences from us as well TG.
No snow this morning but a frost and now clouded over and another sharp frost tonight brr.
Friends coming down today as we decided not to do our village boot sale thankfully and a few plans to sort out before they go back tomorrow and take their bedding from our caravan and then I can go in and clean and sort a few things ready for our break the following week gosh time goes quick. TDA hope all goes well with your OH's scan and keep safe.
Hope your are feeling better MH.
Wreaker the weather is set to improve this next week and next Sunday could be 24C here in the LOT.
Looks like some dry weather Monday and Tuesday so hoping we can get some grass cut before we go away as more rain on the way.

Thanks all for your kind comments I’ve passed them on to OH who also said thank you. Millie he did manage to see her the day before, not sure if she knew it was him but he spent sometime with her and thinks she heard him. Not sure when the funeral will be waiting to get things sorted. It's the grandchildren that are dealing with all that. Funeral plan is in place but waiting on death certificate.
MH glad to hear you are on the mend.
WN your time away with MIL sounded as if she had a good time. I'm sure the oven shelf will turn up when I'm not looking for it, good job the one out of the MH fits it.
Been busy this morning varnishing the window Sills. This afternoon I was cleaning the inside of the MH. What an exciting time I'm having just now. 🙄🙄
Hope you had a good weekend away H&T
Nellie are at The Brough, we stayed there last April right at the end of it. It was only us on arrival but a couple of MHs turned up for a night, other than that we had the place to ourselves.
Just having a cuppa and a break, the cat has decided to be friends with me again as is sleeping on my knee, the noises is something else 😁😁

We got back this morning from a very enjoyable weekend at Strathclyde Park CC site weather was actually ok even managed a BBQ on Friday night. Went a wander round Duncan Caravans yesterday didn’t see any vans we liked but did see a nice awning we might look at buying soon looked great and seemed easier to put up than our air awning which has not been great it’s good once it’s up but not easy to blow up. Once we got home today I washed the caravan not away now until the Easter weekend.

Yes, TG, thats where we are. Still no one else on, so nice and quiet, just how we like it.

As brue, Francis and Kjell knew where we were from my previous photos....Rabbie Burns cottage and museum, with the Auld Kirk and Brig o' Doon, as featured in his epic poem Tam o' Shanter....I thought I try a harder "where were we today?" with these couple of photos.

Long time since we stayed at The Brough Nellie, but a lovely site if I have got the right one. Are the pitches set into the slope down the hill, with the loos and shower at the bottom? Glorious location if it is. Not sure though on your photos🤔

Yes that's the one, tda, although the toilets are closed at the moment, but no bother for us. Lovely quiet and peaceful site, just a shame it's been so cloudy at night as it is on the edge of the Dark Sky area.
Thought the photos might puzzle a few as the place is not obvious when passing and not signposted. Think it would be a great place for an Urban Explorer!!

A bit of a damp start to the week but we needed a bit of rain for the garden. Managed to get the final booking for our trip north, the return leg from the Scottish Borders has to be short and I was surprised to get a single night C&Cc booking for a reasonable price. If I'd found it earlier I could have got it for much less! We're using a mixture of sites.
OH planning some more outside work, trying to crack on after resting on laurels for a bit too long...

Firstly condolences to you and your family TG, it’s always so sad when a parent passes, no matter their age.
Very wet here today, the garden really needs it though. One of our water butts is empty. Heavy traffic this morning taking granddaughter to college, not helped by the rain.
Apologies, more house buying info. You guys are probably as sick of hearing it as we are of doing it, but it helps to share. We have offered on yet another property, only to then find that 5 others have also offered! All over the asking price. It is now going to full and final bids for a week. Don’t think that we will get it. It needs ‘doing’ from top to bottom, we are past doing it all ourselves so had to also work out the cost of all the work to be done. Viewed two this weekend, first one 16 viewers over 3 days, only one other couple and us were local. That one was not for us. According to the vendor, this one had 11 viewers and we were the only locals. North Devon seems a popular place. We are cheesed off and decided that we have a lovely home and may well stay in it.
All of this is so unimportant, while watching the grim news. How can humans be so evil, it is difficult to comprehend. And then even more denials from their vicious leader.

DEBSC
There must be a shortage of houses everywhere as we keep getting letters from local estate agents offering to sell our house! Its not something we want to do. Prompted by these letters I decided to have a look on Rightmove at available houses in MK, very few that are not sold "Subject to Contract". I thought once the stamp duty holiday ended the market would have calmed down. I noticed a house for sale on our little estate. Its a bit strange as other than a picture of the outside of the house, there are no internal photographs. They are also asking for buyers that are not in a chain!

Afternoon
So, we're all up and running ok
, it's been a busy few days as we have a full uptake with our seasonal pitches this year. Getting all the vans pitched and levelled up correctly, everyone's happy. I've done a rejig in a couple of spaces and it's worked well creating more space. It's good to be back in the saddle.Rain today so it's the back office for me, we have a site safety audit in a couple of weeks so it's risk assessments galore, updating filing, new fire evacuation plan, sort new roll call system, on & on!! Roll on beer o'clock

All this talk of houses, rising bills etc, makes me glad I live on wheels

Early start for us today as we could only get an 9.30 appointment in Chester for the dentists. We decided to park about 1 mile away from town at a shopping park area, you know with Curry's and Halford type shops, and walk in. Hate having to park in the city. Anyway we'll need to repeat in about a fortnight as Mrs.WN needs a new filling.
Glad our appointments weren't in February as 6 of the staff came down with Covid. All of them report that symptoms were mild to non existent, even the young child of one of the dentists that has cancer caught it but she was fine as she'd just had steroid injections which act a sort of vaccine.
A quick visit whilst we were on the shopping area to Halfords and B&Q before some food shopping.
DEBSC, I've got to the stage that anything that comes out of Putin's mouth or his cronies I just assume to be lies. What a state whereby the world knows that if you are Russian and attached to the State then you'll have your word doubted straight away. The thing is they don't care. No wonder Trump admires him.

I am sat in hospital car park waiting for OH as he has his scan. Good that nothing has delayed it for a second time. Currently drooling over a car that was parked up just in front of me, an Aston Martin DB11. That wonderful deep throb as it purred away……
We really liked The Brough Nellie, definitely one to return to again. We are well overdue a visit to D&G, some really interesting places to visit. I had to Google the photo, wasn’t familiar at all with it. We did enjoy Threave, Caerlaverock and all around Kirkcudbrightshire.
WN, we hate City parking as well. Don’t know Chester that well. OH once did a Triathlon there, me and Sis were back up crew and chief cheerleaders. Mile swim in River Dee😱 He survived, didn’t win, but was respectably placed. I think the run element was on the Duke of Westminster’s estate🤔 It was nice, I do recall.

Arrived home at lunchtime after a great few days away, dropped a filthy caravan back at the storage yard on way home, the council were due to spread a covering on the paths today and it had to dry before it could be walked on. They have finished now but it looks a bit of mess!

Sorry to read your sad news Tammygirl, condolences to your family.
DEBSC your experiences with house buying, has put me off moving.

Glad you are feeling better now Millie.

Well done, Kjell. We only saw it by chance when we stopped by the side of Loch Ken, and went searching for it, initially on line, and then found the parking spot and walk up to it. Not what we expected to see.
Tried to find another today, Dundeugh Castle, but it was a real disappointment. After walking past it initially it was nothing more than a pile of stones, covered by undergrowth.

Well not the best of times for me and my son, My OH passed away in February over a matter of 5 days, Son was soon after discharged into a care home where he had to do his isolation 10 days. He finished his time, I went to see chaplain about my wife's Funeral, returned to find that he had a mucus event was resuscitated and was taken back by ambulance to a hospital critical care unit where he has remained semi conscious since. I spend my days watching him for a sign of progress........a leg movement, eye twitch anything.
I had my first day off visiting, spent it sailing at the club then thawing out!
