Our house about to go on the market. So finally! they have allowed us to view a property today. Only about a mile away, OH very taken with it as it is immaculate and nothing needs doing. For me - it’s quite nice, don’t like the very small built in cooker but new kitchen so can’t change it, a few other compromises as well. Anyway not much hope of getting it, we said we would pay the full price but the estate agent says they will tell the vendor but we can only register an interest and that most are being sold in a couple of days to folk who have already sold, and most from away. The other one we wanted to look at sold in a day. He suggested we keep looking. Think that might be Covid and working from home effect. Not sure ours will sell that quickly as on an old estate.

Cocklawburn Beach is very like Bamburgh, huge sand dunes, lots of places to search for crabs and other pool dwellers. Nearly always seals around, and we have seen dolphins at the Goswick end as well. Eyemouth (if you haven’t been) has a nice child friendly beach, nice little town as well with a delicious Fish and Chip restaurant and two ice cream parlours😋🍦

Well you've taken the first steps. Sounds like the market is in a similar position to when we started. I wish you all the best and may you find all you're looking for, with as few compromises as possible.

I'm not going into detail but our rollercoaster is off again. It seems there maybe an 8 week delay between exchange and completion............. Who knows what's happening? Certainly not me. Just keep your fingers crossed for us.

Been and bright and breezy day here, decided on calming things, stripped tge bed and line dried it and put it back on the bed. It smelt lively as it came in and I'm looking forward to its freshness tonight. I also washed and line dried the towels, they didn't go out until late morning. They were such a simple tasks but so satisfying.

We've been seeing Snowdrops up in Yorkshire, at Selby, from the first week in the month, which we thought was early, brue. The garden walks should be a picture now. Love the photo, btw.

Nice day Brue. You were probably missing one as Mr.Toad was otherwise engaged I believe in threatening the mighty Bear!surprised

Had a walk into town today to pick up our prescriptions. We ordered them over a week ago via the health board website but they were never processed. Local surgery informed us when we called in that this service hasn't been operating properly for some time now yet they extol you to order this way.yell So it had to be done the old fashioned way.

It was lovely sunny walk but very windy. Town is always quiet on a Tuesday so that was good.

Spoke to my brother who we went to France with as he represented us at my cousins funeral over the weekend. He said it was a good job we didn't go. Sooo many people. My cousins' were going to call in on their way home today but rang to say it wouldn't be wise, after all of the mingling that had occurred at a packed funeral. Sad but grateful to them for their consideration.

I can't work out whether you are early or late with your birthday greetings WN but thank you 😁. That was very considerate of your brother. Someone told me today that 2 members of her family had covid recently presumably picked up at a wedding that they had  just attended.

Busy morning at the Cathedral again. Lots coming to see the Made in Lockdown exhibition. Also to attend a Coffee and Craft morning. A friend popped in to say 'hello'. She is not attending services at the moment but 'attends' online instead. I then met another friend for coffee and a snack after I finished. She was a member of staff at our Adult Education College when I was on the Governing Board there and we worked closely together so we had a good catch up.

For the dog owners on here well behaved dogs on a lead are now allowed in the Cathedral . 😊

Very bright and sunny here today but a very chilly fresh breeze. Unfortunately as  the builders are in the process of installing a new Welcomers desk and shop it meant they had every single door open 😳 It was a tad invigorating.

We have caught the wind today!! Fine when we got up after some overnight rain, and I'm when we set off. Ran into the wind half way to the site and set up in a hoolie!! So much so that it blew the loose hitch cover off the caravan! Gasp So that's another repair job for when we get home.

Thankfully the wind has now died down somewhat and the van is not rocking as much as it was, so we should be able to get a good night's sleep.

We have just watched the programme about the portraits commisioned by Prince Charles of the holocast survivors on bbc iplayer. Such wonderful portraits and such tragic stories told with amazing dignity. It was very moving.

Nellie I don't envy you towing in the wind today. I was explaining today to someone how difficult it is in high winds. Glad you got there safely.

That is good news Millie👏👏 Our pooch has been round a few churches, but I don’t think he has ever done a Cathedral. How lovely and welcoming. One of us usually has to sit outside, then swop over. He’s quiet and well behaved, so will be no bother to anyone else visiting. Especially if he’s in his chariot.

Tewkesbury Abbey allows dogs, in fact I went to Evensong there last year, only six of us listening to the wonderful choral singing...OH stood at the back with our dog who thankfully behaved herself.

I'm in today, OH and others are outside taking "limbs" off the Oak tree that hangs over part of our garden. The farmer does one side, the footpath runs underneath and we're balancing out the bits that go over our bit and a neighbours. I've got a little owl nest box that has been hanging around so I'm hoping someone will climb up and nail it to a branch...

I'm now confused (doesn't take much!) as to when your Birthday is, millie - but have a lovely one, anywaysmile.  Very sensible WN re the funeral - that's how our neighbours caught it - attending her mum's funeral a couple of weeks ago.  Her brother came down with it and then it passed to all of them next door, including 5 yr old Stanley.  Fortunately, it was no more than like having a heavy cold.

Quite excited today - caravan back from dealer's after the boiler repair - together with a very big bill.  The cost of a new element for the new Truma combi, is outrageous but didn't have a lot of choice.  And who said caravanning was cheap!!

A first for me today, I went to a scrapyard!!! Last year I swapped the steel wheel rims on the motorhome for alloys. I thought I would have no trouble selling the wheel rims to motorhomers wanting a spare wheel which are rarely provided these days. I was a bit wide of the mark there as despite advertising them on several Facebook Groups nobody seemed interested. ( the plastic wheel trims all sold pretty quickly). This left me with two choices either to just take them to the dump or try and get a pound or two for scrap. Off we went to the scrap yard with me imagining I would be met by some Arthur Daly type only to discover a very professional organisation. Least you think I am now in the position to fly off to St Lucia or some other Caribbean island with the proceeds I don't think I have enough for a guide book, £9.05 to be precise!!! Would have got nothing had I taken them to the dump and I now have some room in the garage.

The quid pro quo for going to the scrapyard was that we had to call into the nearby ASDA. This place is like an aircraft hanger!! When it was built it was the largest branch in the UK. I checked my walking App and car to car was 1.2 miles! As you can imagine the place had a massive selection of stuff compared to the more limited assortment offered at Waitrose our normal shopping destination. Hard to find better prices in ASDA on branded items compared to our normal shop but they do have different things which makes a trip worthwhile.

Thinking about dog friendly venues, a first for us - we've booked a 3 night stay at a dog friendly hotel in the Malvern Hills for later in the month. Mrs M put her foot down and said she wanted to be waited on (as if she isn't normally! wink) rather than go self catering. So I just hope the dogs behave themselves; reading the reviews they look well catered for with a treat bag on arrival and beds and bowls in the bedroom. And, best of all, they go free! It's an area we often pass by rather than staying in so plenty of new walks to discover.  smile

PS - Happy Birthday, Millie,  not sure if it's gone or coming up but hope Mr H spoils you rotten.  🎂🎁

Which hotel are you staying in Moulesy? Malvern is my was my home area a great place to go and plenty of walks for your dogs.

A dull damp start here today although we did have some sunshine in the afternoon but looks better next week and much warmer, garden gone to the skip this afternoon and very quiet there.

It is pancake day here today so managed to get some Breton Crepes reduced in Carrefour cheaper than I could have made them for.

Got two 13kg Butane refills today for our portable gas fire and had a quick look at Calor prices gosh very expensive compared to here nearly double the price with conversion of pounds and euros,  gone up by about 2 euros a bottle from last winter so happy with that.

Our friend who had mild covid  all clear now with her test yesterday only to find her OH now got it so we are staying away for awhile as her village has a lot mores cases than our village, even had to wear masks at the skip today some had one on some did not.

It's called Colwall Park - apparently they have a good reputation for accommodating pets and the staff go out of their way to make a fuss of them.

Mrs M has a special reason to look forward to it - Malvern Hill was, apparently where her dad proposed to her mum, must have been just after coming home from the war!  💘💘

Hope you enjoy your stay I know where that is as you are on the other side of the hills but a lovely area to see. I can remember many years ago I was staying with my mum for a few days and take her out and about and took Ben our first Springer Spaniel  with me and went for a walk from Wytch Cutting car park to the Beacon on the top of the hills and whilst I was sitting there enjoying the views after I had been to the cafe there for a drink and water for Ben I saw this person jogging up towards me and thought I know that face and it was Nigel Kennedy  the violinist and he came to say hello and make a fuss of Ben he even said would you like a photo of you and your Spaniel and still have the photo no selfies then too long ago.  As to the war my mum was dating a GI who was based at the now Caravan club site and Camping club site know as Blackmore memories.

We only travelled a dozen of miles from one site to the next and for the first half of the journey it wasn't blowing and we were quite sheltered until we got on site and met the full force of it, where it blew the A frame cover off.yell

Our daughter was complaining, only the other day, about how much stock is missing from her local Asda, and they have change the placement of items without any rhyme or reason as far as she could see, and merchandising is her forte. She has complained twice to the management of that store about the new layout and selection of produce. We have noticed that our Tesco has cut down the number and selection of goods prior to Christmas. Perhaps it will have improved when we next visit, but I doubt it as they are talking of closing their fresh meat and fish, and deli counters. I think they are feeling the pinch from the likes of Aldi.

Thankfully the wind did not return through the night, but we woke to a dull morning. Called in the Rohan shop in Long Preston to pick up a pair of Bags for OH before a short walk out to the beck. Then up to Malham Tarn  for lunch and a walk by the tarn in the mist, and although it was breezy it wasn't too cold. Stopped off at Gargrave for another walk, along by the the canal this time on the way back to the van.

Wishing Milliehull many happy returns, have a great birthday.

                                  🎂   🍾   🥂   💐   🥳   🎁   🎉   🎊

Thought I'd post early so it's ready for Thursday 😉

Been dry, brighter grey and a little warmer than of late here today. Disappointing as last night was a beautiful sunset 🌇

Another day of bits and bobs, no news - so I suppose that could be classed as good news 🤞.

A friend called round,  and popped in for a cuppa, to drop off my birthday card and present. Nice to have a catch up with her. Elderly, 94 next month, MIL living 1.5 hours away needing more help. Her husband is her only one, so much commitment as MIL has refused to move nearer, they now limit general visits, as she says they are both in their 70's and they work hard once they're there. Bed changing, hair washing, gardening vacuuming including furniture removal etc plus ironing and MIL expects very high standards and micro manages 😱😱. Plus they have 'acquired' his dad's youngest brother's widow who lives more locally but late 80's and despite being here 40 years little English and their Spanish isn't up to much! So not seen much of each other lately.

Good to read of folks news, and that dogs are welcome in some settings.

Moulesy do let us know about your hotel trip. I feel in direct need of a catered break before long and am searching dog friendly establishments.

Oh bakers2 I am so sorry I hadn't realised that it was your birthday yesterday. I will remember in future I promise. Belated Happy Birthday and hope you had a lovely day.

We are off to Stamford for some lunch and then I have a appointment with the chiropractor late afternoon as I have a bad back again.frown. Lovely way to celebrate my birthday! But it will probably be my best birthday present if she can sort it out.
