Reading your adventures with envy Nellie, our week down there was way too short for us, but we cherry picked our days out, and dropped very lucky with the weather. Wondered if you saw any Peregrines at Botallack, it’s a place we usually see them, along with Chough’s?

Tda, didn't see any Choughs but think a pair of Peregrines flew over us as we drove toward Zennor the other day, but no place to stop to get to confirm it was them. Have you parked above Prussia Cove?  We walked over to there this afternoon and there were some swimmers in the water in a deep pool at Bessy's Cove. It was near low tide at the time so I don't think one could go swimming there at high tide, but further round is Kenneggy Sands which looks better on any tide.

Dry morning and brighter afternoon, and when the sun came out rather warm too. Went to the Mountain Warehouse store on the outskirts of Penzance this morning looking for a pair of walking boots, but without success, although OH did but a pair of walking trousers, so not altogether a wasted journey. Stopped off at Long Rock and had a walk along the new front nearly to Marazion, and Flyte had another run on the beach. After lunch in the van we walked did a circular walk around to Prussia Cove and back along the coastal path via Cudden Point. This is our last night in this part of Cornwall before we head over to it's border with Devon, near Saltash.

It is around 3.6 miles, around 98% flat. Google suggests around an hour and ten minutes on foot, so not bad at all. We enjoyed the route via the rowing lake more, a bit further I think, but I can’t recall any gates or steps. Be great for you if you can do it with OH. FM might well be one of our Winter visits, combine it with one or two nice CLs to put together a little tour.

Yes, Prussia Cove is another of our morning walks, back when we had dogs with fully working legs😁 Kennegy Cove is a nice swimming beach, not somewhere we took dogs though, as you have to climb down a ladder last few metres. (Unless it’s been made more accessible.) Portable pooches maybe, but not thumping great lumps like ours. I think Prussia Cove had a resident dolphin at one time, going back a few years though.

Been another lovely day here. Haircut for OH, hour on bike for me, then rest of afternoon in garden. I enjoy Autumn tidying, trying to find some space for more bulbs at the moment. No doubt the blinking squirrels will dig them up again🤨🍁🍂

Relaxing, and recovering after our 165 mile round trip to deliver the van to North Berwick for DD and family.

Left home in light rain at 10.30am, weather went downhill rapidly.  Stopped for lunch at 12 just east of Edinburgh before joining the A1, heavy rain by then.  Marked time for an hour or so as check in was 2pm, arrived at site at 2.03pm, DD had arrived 5 minutes earlier and checked in, so we went straight to her pitch.

They had managed to get a serviced pitch due to a cancellation, but IMO  not a good pitch as on a corner very close to the road and really not big enough.  Van only just fitted in length, but pitch was so narrow that 1/3 of the awning is over the (wet and muddy) grass.  Car has to go on the grass beside the awning.

MH to the left has not parked to far side of pitch, as per instructions, so is rather  close for comfort.   Anyone who thinks pitches are packed  in on CAMC sites should see parts of this site.   Holiday week here so site is fully booked.

However, the toilets and showers are superb, better than any we have seen anywhere else, look very new, so the holiday makers are happy.  They will be out and about a lot, so close neighbours should not be a problem.

Rain eased up a bit, then went off, so we got the awning up without getting soaked after they had had their very late lunch, then after unloading everything from our car and giving some instructions on operating things, we were on our way home before 5pm.

DD got her car back yesterday at 5.30pm, just in time for the holiday, it was the front suspension that had failed.

It appears that it's one day warm sunshine and the next warm drizzle and today is the warm sunshine. Yesterday went up place fell but any photos would just be of heavy mist. Site still very busy though a lot leaving this morning.

We arrived here at Chester yesterday afternoon. We had stayed at Strathclyde Park on Friday night then made the 4 hour tow down here yesterday. Roads were surprisingly quiet even the M6 although it rained all the way quite heavy until we had cleared the Lake District. Site here was busy although there are a few vans away this morning. After we got here we just went to Sainsbury’s for supplies then just had a night in the van watching the tv. I was up early this morning and went out a 15 mile cycle back at the van now not sure what we are doing today will head out a drive soon. Here until the end of the week then we are heading up to Blackpool area for a couple of days.

Corners love the pics Troutbeck is one of our favourite sites although we haven’t been this year yet.

Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend

Having visited mostly small sites and CLs this year we're bracing ourselves for a series of big sites on our next trip but that includes two race course sites which we usually enjoy.

Lovely day, have had a nice local walk with dog and OH. He is now trying to fix new door bells, for and aft. The BING BONGS are driving me and the dog mad but the Christmas tunes are even worse!! Think we're fixed now. wink

We like Chapel Lane we use it most summers as a stopover on our way south although this year we spent a week there which was great plenty to do in the area. We visited the transport museum a couple of years ago and found it great also the farm shop nearby does great steak burgers.

Had about as good as can be imagined journey over to Norfolk yesterday. Not a great of traffic anywhere.

The small cottage is fine for our needs. Walk in wet room, warm and cosy and on the edge of town but private. Went to Erics for a treat of GF fish and chips.

Today was a walk around Cley nature reserve, or just part of it for MiL. She's doing well though. A walk from the car park to the beach no less. I see they've introduced car parking fees since our last visit 2 years ago.

    Off to Wells tomorrow.

Quite warm here in the sun, up to 25 in the car! Easy drive to CL, but the front of the van was so splatter with mud/cow sh** from the site we'd just left I had to clean it off after our afternoon walk, so did the car too. The underside of the car will need a jet spray sometime to get the rest of the yuck off. Doubt that we would use that site near Marazion again.
Lovely red sky and a crescent moon earlier.

Holiday weekend here in Spain, lots of families on site. Children everywhere zipping about on bikes, scooters and plastic toys. Some sat playing in the middle of the road, lots of noise so we escaped to  the beach for the afternoon, even took a picnic lunch with us.

Its amazing the change from a few days ago where you could hear a pin drop most of the time. Now its deafening, the on site restaurant/bar has music blaring out all evening/night until midnight. Last night the kids were still out running around until almost midnight, complete madness.

Can't remember it being like this the last time we stayed here ( wouldn't have returned if it was) doubt we will come again as its the same tonight. Due to move on up the coast on Tuesday after the holiday weekend. Hope its quieter up there.

Anyway apart from that we have had a good time here, the beaches are amazing and the sea is still warm enough for swimming.

We took the MH off site yesterday and went down the coast, had a lovely day out, picnic on the beech even managed to come across a market and bought some lovely fresh fruit. Found some salinas that had pink flamingos on them, a lovely walk through the salinas on the board walks to the sea.

Good to read that those on the move yesterday reached their respective destinations safely.

Isn't it funny how some sites suit certain members and not others. We hated Chapel Lane site the only time we stopped there, much too much like a car park for us, so doubt that we'll use it again. It also had the most ignorant and unhelpful wardens we have ever met on a club site.

Enjoy Wells WN. You have better weather than us but we did manage a walk on the beach one early evening in glorious sunshine. Where are you staying? I hope Mrs WN and MIL enjoy the shopping in Wells 😏.

We had beautiful weather this weekend so spent most of it in the garden cutting back and tidying up. It looks as though it might be another good one today before it is forecast to get colder.

    Hi Millie.

We're staying in a hired cottage in Holt. Just as you leave the small town down a cul-de-sac. Lovely place, quiet and private.

I think the ladies are going to spend some money on clothes this morning, then a coffee at the cottage before going to Wells just after lunch. Is that clothes shop near the quay but on the main high street still open? If so MiL will definitely be going in. She always buys something from there. Then a stroll to the beach cafe and beach as the forecast is good.

I'm being called to make breakfast.😂

    Today - "An Inspector Calls".

It's our annual Soil Association Organic Inspection.

The buildings are clean and fresh.

The cows are shiny and bright.

The calves are happy in little groups.

The sun is shining, the grass is green and lush.

And the kitchen table is covered in all the paperwork needed to prove that we truly are Organic. And abiding by Red Tractor regulations (an additional set of rules). All these certification bodies love a good paper trail.

Sounds very nice at your holiday abode WN, enjoy your breakfast. smile

Oh yes, that shop near the quay but on the main street is definitely still open. I can vouch for that laughing. There is also another shop at the top of the High Street called 'North's' the ladies might like. Your cottage sounds ideal. It might suit us very nicely. We love Holt. I will have to investigate. Can I ask who you book with? We are new to this game

Millie, it was booked through Holidaycottages and it's called Pippins Lodge.

    www.holidaycottageshttps://www.holidaycottages.co.uk/cottage/72939-pippins-lodge

The 2 of them had a wonderful time in Holt this morning. Our inheritance took a significant hit!😂😂

Parked up on The Green in Wells this afternoon and walked to the beach cafe. We did indeed pop into "Marjorie's" before leaving but unfortunately, for some😁, they didn't have the right sizes for what the ladies were looking for.

Wells looked lovely as usual. The sun was out.
