What are you all up to

My pigeon keeping neighbour has a fairly close plot, JV, it's good to keep a track of his transport system. If he walks it's standard working, if he cycles it's so he can carry more or bigger bags of produce back home
He gave me some of his final load of broad beans only last week so I have started getting back into 'proper cooking' mode ~~ slaving over a hot stove is a grand way to keep warm in winter

I only seem to have one page illuminated at a time on here at the moment 😳
Had my MRI scan this morning. Not as bad as I feared. They had an extra mobile MRI scanner in the car park. All very quick and efficient. The waiting room was the car! Covid jabs later at our GP surgery.

Yes the single page number is red and it's slightly different from what I can recall.
I must admit an MRI scan would not be on my list of enjoyable procedures Millie (unless it's the doughnut shaped one.) So I'm glad yours went well. Hope the jabs are OK too.
Spent a long time on the phone this morning with recently bereaved friend.
Haven't done any of the things I'd planned!

Brue I had the doughnut shaped one as well when I ended up in A&E. I am being given the full range! I think the consultant is a 'belt and braces' man. I really wasnt looking forward to the MRI at all - and in fact was awake for most of the night but it wasn't as bad as I feared.
I really feel for your friend. Such a dreadful situation for her. It must be so upsetting for you as well.

Our friend was released from hospital yesterday they have gone home this morning, she had all sorts of tests without any real conclusion but they do not think it was a TIA ,but was possibly brought on by stress, as they say those susceptable to TIAs or Srokes can show the same sign
Was reading earlier that the Highlands and Islands in Scotland are really pushing for Tourist Tax to help with problems they are encountering with LVs
How the Wild campers? will pay should be interesting or will it be those who stay legally end up subsidising them?

Milliehull glad you scan was better than feared, not nice and I'd hate it it would be more than 1 night without sleep. Delighted to hear your consultant is a belt and braces sort.
Brue saddened to read of your friends husband sudden death, you can you only be there for her, but hard for you to come to terms with it as well. I presume there'll be a autopsy which doesn't help. I feel for her and her having to re-evaluate her life and move.
Booked our Covid boosters, not until 13 November as we aren't around on 30th.
Viewed the bungalow we looked at in April, but it was sold before we could get a builder in to estimate work required. Would have been a great project if health allowed 🥲. What a disappointment minimum work, looking to make as much as possible by flipping it, not replaced blown windows - on order, as is new door, not double glazed single glazed windows....... labour outs and shortage of materials. It felt lovely and homely before now sadly cold and soulless.... a price increase of 140k 😱.
Enjoying being up here for a few days. Testing out a new holiday let 🙂 gosh modern equipment, ovens mainly, very complex - I think it might play a tune if I ask it!
After the viewing we had a lovely stroll in Ferry Meadowsand lunch by the lake. Followed by a check out of various locations for houses. Think we'll stick with our chosen area. Been mild all day but rather misty. Family coming over this evening, I suspect for a good nose!
Good to read others news, ABM I trust you have reported your unwarranted callers?
Edit I also had some shocking news last weekend, my good friends younger sister, has inoperable cancer 🥲🥲. Her daughter got married, was planned for next August, 2 weeks ago at 7pm so her mum could be there. Life is very unpredictable and we really should cherish every moment.
DEBSC hope things are settling with your granddaughter , tough for all concerned.
Allotments are very sort after where we live and there's waiting lists. I believe its the same where we're looking to move.
Generally it very sad when folk feel too uncomfortable to work/walk alone but I completely understand from whence it comes. Sad old world 🥲

Bakers2, when we were on holiday in Staithes back in the summer our son had to look at YouTube to find out the oven and hob worked! I hope your grandson's christening is a lovely occasion.
I am glad your friend has been discharged JVB.

Much to ponder B2...but hope you enjoy your visit and maybe something new home-wise might appear, do hope things go well and sorry you have also had sad news from a friend.
Ref allotments our local ones are very popular, quite rural so some work there alone but hopefully no problems if they do.

Millie Glad you seem OK after your TIA
Question for you Millie have you ever walked into the City Centre from Nene Park? I have an appointment at Ampliphon in Westgate next Wednesday, and our friends were going to keep an eye on OH ? but thinking now of walking in with OH on her buggy

JVB I havent but a number of people I know have. There is a very good path by the river. It takes about 45 minutes I think. It comes out near Charters Bar on the Bridge.

JVB we have walked and cycled tge route. Been awhile but I would agree on milliehull's timing. Good path all the way as I recall, plenty of folk use it. We also caught the bus once but weren't quite so clever getting from the bus stop yo site on our return 😱🤣. We made 'a day of it' treating ourselves to lunch and things.

Isn't that the third approach, Brian ?
Blimey Brue, you really do have a great memory ! I had completely forgotten about the offer that was made whilst I was at my mates new home, mainly 'cos my mate was telling them how to get to Hades whilst I was assisting his wife to shift furniture indoors

Millie, I was never worried about the various scans !! but the Results oh eck that saw always a different matter especially the longish one where they invited me to bring my own choice of CDs
I really should not have taken Schubert's Unfinished , , , , , , , ,0 -
Nice sunny morning for a change so I decided to keep out of the way whilst the 2 womenfolk sorted out the important task of what, and how many, clothes to take next week. Amazing how long you can take over washing and cleaning a caravan

Stayed dry for rest of the day.
Any news on when these page numbers will revert to normal? Why do they have to mess up a system that already taxes ones patience?

Sorry to hear of your friend's husband's death, a tough time for you all.
Hope the scan doesn't reveal anything serious millie.

Three good days, although the weather has been rather mixed with thick mist at times but also some sunshine.
Have walked in Penrose estate down to Loe Bank and the shore....very hard going on the course sand there.
Had both Covid booster and Flu jabs before heading over to Cape Cornwall for a couple of walks, and then over to Bonallack to see probably the most famous engine houses in the world: the 36″ Crown’s pumping engine and 24″ Pearce’s Whim, as well as the other remnants of the mining that went on around there.
Today called in at Philps in Hayle for the essential pasties before carrying on to the NT's Godrevy car park where we walked up to see the seals, and onto the beach to give Flyte a good run on the sand.

What about a taxi? You could probably request one with a sliding door that might make it easier to get everything in.

We know it well JV, cycle it there and back. It will be quite a walk, and there are a few gates to wriggle through, one or two tight with a bike, so depending on how long/ wide your OH’s buggy is, you might want to check things out solo. There was a lot of work going on at one point on the path, we had to turn back and try a different route, although this ought to be complete now. That involved hauling our bikes up some steps, so be wary. Might be better doing it when not under pressure to get to an appointment. It’s a lovely walk/ride, take a picnic and binoculars👍

Glad you ok Millie👍 So sorry to hear about your friend Brue, very upsetting for all concerned.
Reading your adventures with envy Nellie, our week down there was way too short for us, but we cherry picked our days out, and dropped very lucky with the weather. Wondered if you saw any Peregrines at Botallack, it’s a place we usually see them, along with Chough’s?
We are just thinking of a short Winter tour. Quite fancy heading over to Carlisle area, then working our way back via Hadrian’s Wall road. 🤔 Some good things to see along this route, lots of indoor stuff.

Not sure where to post this really, but it’s a lovely story, puts our touring efforts firmly to shame. Long may they tour........👏👏👏

Brian, I don't have such a great memory really, in fact I'm an unreliable witness as I thought the first visit had been at your home, strange how the memory process works!

Lovely end to the day here, sunny skies and two hot air balloons drifting over. We've seen a lot of them recently, maybe special presents for people who couldn't use them during Covid. Not much wind today so slow progress. 🌞🎈
Anyway Covid is definitely around here...immediate neighbour has it and also our local shop which has limited opening hours at the moment. Trying to avoid all possible contacts as want to get away to see the family fairly soon!

Many years ago when we were much younger
we used to cycle into the city centre by following the railway, just wondered how long it took if walking it is about 3.5miles ,think we did that this morning when we went for the paper at Tesco Express then we came back to the site via the sailing lake, ,called in at the Nene Park farm shop, buggy friendly? OH still managed to take out the end of one of the shelves

Ps I did warn the shop staff it may not be buggy friendly for every one

JVB It might be worth checking with one of the site wardens if you see any of them about? Or maybe check with the staff at the Visitor Centre.
