Glad all well with the false teeth Nellie.

They rarely give me trouble, WN, it's the real ones that I'm hoping to hang onto for a good while yet that need careful looking after,  hence the regular check ups!!😊

Fine day all day today, sunny and warm with a gentle breeze, again. Didn't do an awful lot, apart from clearing the seating etc out of the van for it's service tomorrow, and the usual walks with Flyte.

Gosh all these busy folk it has been very hot today here 30C but with a very hot wind so not much done outside today except for washing and watering plus trip to garage for OH to get some fuel for his vehicle ready for our trip away next week and it looks like there maybe some storms about just as we go typical no bikes though as OH does not have one and my is going to be sold I learnt to ride late in life and have lost my confidence again but I do walking, OH not so much as knee and hip problems and I walk quicker than he does.

Some tree clipping tomorrow whilst it is cooler in the morning then another trip to skip on Friday pm as not open Thursday and it looks to be getting a bit cooler over the next few days but it is much cooler at night now thankfully.

    Enjoy your breaks folks.

We had a very tired Griffon Vulture on our local main road so he has ended up at the bird of prey place at Rocamadour and they hope to release back into wild.

Good luck with the service Nellie.

Decided to do a return visit to Forde Abbey today, Friday is usually quieter at the moment, changeover day for many holiday makers. That said the roads were very busy. But glad we went as it was a riot of colour in the flower beds.

On leaving we were chatting away when both of us spotted a railway bridge we'd never seen before..we had taken a wrong turning! Local lanes are devoid of signposts (removed in WW2 and replacements are not regarded as important.) So the journey home wasn't much fun. wink

    Quite chilly here. laughing

Makes me wish we were further south in Somerset, Brue.laughing

Had a day strolling around Ham Wall RSPB reserve and Shapwick Heath reserve opposite it. Surprised at the low number of visitors but pleasantly so.

Had a smashing time and a good chin wag with a couple of wardens at Shapwick Heath who were explaining the problems they have encountered during lockdown and the barriers they are meeting with the Environmental Agency. It's not as if they are desperate to despoil the area,  just manage it different in difficult circumstances.

Stopped off at the large Tesco in Shepton Mallet on the way home. Yikes!! Too many bare faces! We're used to masks being worn in shops in Wales. Culture shock.😱 Many of them of the elderly persuasion as well. Good job the footfall was light. Best get used to it.

Been around my old birding area then WN glad you enjoyed it and brue great photos of Forde Abbey just wish we could go, do miss going around house gardens, hope to get to two different gardens whilst away.

Have pruned some lower branches off a Lylandi tree today and looks much better and that pruning helped to fill trailer up again plus an old shrub by our gate that has died but had a bit of shock as a whip snake underneath it so OH started to cut it down soon moved it with the noise of his chainsaw on a stick, rubbish all gone to skip and a few folk getting their garden rubbish as the skip was filling up by the time we left, trailer now parked back under cover ready for more stuff to remove when we come back, the ground is now drying up very quickly losing the green colour after this intense heat we have had for about 10 days now, lavender to trim tomorrow and a few other chores to do and getting a bit cooler 27C  also cooler overnight only 10C  this morning felt a bit chilly.

Went to have a coffee with a friend this morning only to find both cafes closed both on short holiday break so came back home and had coffee here, even the butcher was on holiday so very quiet.

We arrived here on site just before 6 after an easy hours tow from home although the roads are very busy again. Lovely weather when we got here so got set up quickly and got the Cadac on and sat outside having a few drinks. Site is vey busy and is apparently full all weekend. Not sure what the plan is tomorrow will wait and see probably won’t be doing much just relaxing.

These Supermarkets & their customers are scary, WN, I've almost reverted to 'Lock-down ' rules in that I, masked & sanitised,  have a carefully checked list { Old Men with lists and trollies  aaarrrggghhh yell } and only get what's on that list ~~ I no longer stroll round looking to see what tickles ABM's fancy  frown.

Have a good weekend Francis, the A9 was horrendous today going both ways,  it was nose to tail. Should be better come Monday as they open the new section from Perth to Birnam.

Well that's us ready for the off tomorrow morning, only as far as the borders for the weekend then down into England on Mondaysurprised that should be a fun drive.

Went to see big sis today, she's not been feeling well for the last few weeks but seems to be on the mend now. Glad that she is as I wasn't feeling good about going away if she was still not great.

    Brue, lovely photos.

WN, we are used to seeing masks in the shops, not looking forward to shopping with folk not wearing them. Enjoy your time in away.

Have a good trip TG......how long are you going to be away this time?

We are off on Sunday, heading north, hopefully roads will not be busy on a Sunday.   DD has invited us to dinner tomorrow, and has suddenly decided to ask me to fit a shade sail, so will need to go down there a bit earlier than planned.

Just as well we are fairly well on with the packing already.  I am feeling quite smug as I have the car mostly loaded up, and even my clothes sorted!

OH still has hers to do, plus the food of course.

Enjoy your breaks everyone. We're off to N Devon again, two very different CLs. Brace yourselves for the tourists and locals WN, people seems to have forgotten Covid rules. But a plea came out yesterday on SW TV to start remembering them! We're pulling our horns in a bit and will avoid places that are too busy, including a pub meal for my birthday, we will have beans on toast instead....wink

Just back from a three nighter at a THS on the edge of Lymington. Just a chill-out time, all we did was a wander in to the town. Did finally manage to finish the book I started in May though. Another three weeks before we get a window for a decent trip away. East Anglia looks the safest destination, Covid-wise, at the moment and I'm still trying to get to Sutton Hoo despite having been in the vicinity several times.

Hopefully till the end of October, will see how things are, if we feel its getting dodgy we will come home earlier. Mind you UK ain't that great at the moment. Hopefully once the main holidays are over and the schools/Uni are back things might calm down a bit.

Have a good trip you certainly deserve a break.

I'm feeling smug to, everything is now loaded and ready for the off ahead of schedule, so having a last cuppa before heading off. Can't leave to early as only going as far as Jedburgh laughing keeping clear of england until BH is over.

Have a great time TG and we shall look forward to hearing of your adventures.  We are enjoying ourselves over this Bank Holiday by shampooing our carpets!!🤣.  Do you remember a conversation about carpet cleaners a while ago?  Well we purchased the Bissell carpet shampoo machine, just doing the lounge and, heavens above, what we thought was quite clean certainly is not!!

Glad we have no carpets here just tiles floors and Laminated flooring in bedroom so just a mop through although we do have a few rugs new ones in the lounge, been there with shampooing carpets heddlo so know what you mean with what looks clean and not especially when we had two springer spaniels when we lived in Somerset.

A bit cooler today so a few small chores outside no noisy machinery as limited hours of use on Saturday and Sunday here, a bin run this afternoon as I have been clearing out a few broken plant pots and trays plus a few other things.

Enjoy your weekend folks not a bank holiday here but did have a holiday day on the 15th.

No carpets here either, but quite a few rugs. When we bought our place it was an amazing discovery, we lifted the old fitted carpets and found nice parquet flooring everywhere, no one had mentioned them. It reminds me of a friends house in France, so we're similar to you RedKite. smile

Hope your Bank Holiday efforts look good Heddlo, our windows need a good clean. The air is very dusty from combining etc.

My cataract op went well on Tuesday and the eye is settling down nicely. I might be able to drive again soon, so anyone in our vicinity be warned laughing. I am back in circulation again and did guided tours both yesterday morning and this morning. The group this morning didn't have long so I had to do a 'whistle stop' tour so feel a bit frustrated yell. Never mind it is good to be back in action again.  We then went over to our local farm shop did some shopping and had a spot of lunch.  We bumped into some caravanning acquaintances so had a nice catch up with them.

Such lovely photos brue. We haven't done many garden visits this year. Hopefully we will get a few in during September.

I hope TG and KjNn have good trips away.  I hope you find it OK 'over there' and don't feel it necessary to curtail your trip. Brue I hope to have a good time in Devon and WN take care in England. People seem to be getting very careless over mask wearing etc. We are being very careful over where we go and what we do again.

Twice I tried to go to Tesco yesterday but I couldn’t get out of our village, pulled out in the morning but it took me just under an hour to do one mile, tried again in the afternoon but turned around as still the same. All traffic including holiday diverted through our village. Sadly a nasty accident on the N Devon link road the previous night and someone killed, So very sad for them and their family.

Had to go today. Hate going to the supermarket at weekends, it was packed and as others have said many without masks, mostly younger people, nearly all oldies were masked up. Young woman came and stood right behind me at the checkout before her husband called her and their child back. Car park busy, not helped by a car towing a caravan trying to back up! Who takes a caravan to Tesco on a busy Saturday.

Great news Millie, I think!😂 Depends what your driving is like.😱 or 👍

Nearly dropped cork leg today (a grand old Northern saying). Drove to park up at Wookey Hole. My goodness!😱😱.

Glad we were going for a walk up the Ebbor Gorge then over to Priddy and back on a circular walk. Hardly anyone on that but W.H. packed to the rafters and barely a mask in sight. It's like a different world. Had a smashing walk and the views from the top were gorgeous.

Trouble was we were up late so got there in full rush hour. There was a murder nearby last night.😨 The pub about 300 yards away, as the Crow flies, had an open air Karoake going and there will be more than one Bee Gee spinning in his grave. I'll never be able to listen to Staying Alive again. Almost called the Police but was afraid someone impersonating Sting might turn up.😂 Dreadful doesn't begin to explain the torment inflicted upon us until midnight!

Keeping our fingers crossed it was just for one night.

Have a good time to TG,Kj and Francis.

Arrived at Jedburgh later than planned as we had to turn round and go back home as OH had forgotten something.

The traffic round Perth was the worst I've ever seen in our area. Miles and miles of queuing traffic trying to get around Perth and up the A9, good job we know the rat runs. Going round the Edinburgh bypass was no better.

Nice little site this. Will investigate a bit more tomorrow.

Heddlo, hope the carpets are looking good, I do remember the conversation re shampooers. Its amazing just how dirty they are but look ok. Don't think we would do away with carpets in our lounge and bedrooms. We have concrete floors and even with carpets they are freezing on the feet.

Millie, good to hear the Op was successful and you are back in circulation.

I see GB are doing just as well in the Para Olympics, well done to the athletes.

TG I know what was causing the hold up on the Edinburgh bypass... A Rock festival think it was at Dalkieth Country park. You might have passed us as we took a drive down to Walter Scott's View near Dryburgh!/

Good news on your op MH. Make good use of it!

Have not been away in the caravan as yet still taking it easy after Son's hospital stay and doing physio to build up his strength.

Nice little site this. Will investigate a bit more tomorrow.

Are you on the Bairnkine Cl, or the C&CC site, TG? We've used both and although the club site is handier for visiting the town we preferred the CL, as it has good dog walks straight from it.

Mille, good to hear that the OP was a success and that you are back leading your guided tours already.👍

WN, we have the Ebbor Gorge down for walking when we are down there, as It is not far from the CL we hope to be on. Shame about your late night entertainment, will you be mentioning it in your review?wink

Kjell, you will be glad to finally get away in your van, I'm sure. Hope you have a good trip, and the same applies to all others that are out touring at the moment.

I'm still trying to get to Sutton Hoo despite having been in the vicinity several times.

CY, we were disappointed with the place as a whole, although the exhibition is interesting. If you get a chance book in on one of the guided tours, it certainly helps in understanding the whole layout of the site. We did have a good day there the last time we visited as we met up with the Mouleys and their lovely dogs.

Delighted for you wrt the cataract operation, Millie laughing.

Unfortunately my friend went to the eye clinic on Wednesday, , hoping for an early operation on her eye but, alas, the surgeon said it's not cataracts it is Macular degeneration, so he told her which pills to obtain from the chemists  !! then referred her back to her G.P. !
