I'm sure you can tell from the photo the name of the programme.

I don't watch TV but recognise the characters.

Goldie, The Archers of the Lakeslaughing

Went to the delightful town of Celle today, one of my old stamping grounds.  The Altstadt is medieval with most of the 16/17th century houses renovated to a high standard.  Wandered round then went to the Schloss and finally a nice lunch.

Final leg of packing, just the fridge stuff to do.  Fridge turned on a few hours back to cool down.

Car filled up with fuel,  and washed a bit so not so dusty.  Tyre pressures checked, they were all over  the place , so now  correct.

DD and SIL now on ferry on their way to Amsterdam for 5 days.

Early to bed hopefully, but no rush to leave in the morning as not a long trip.  About a 3 hour drive, so plan to leave around 10am once the rush hour is over.

Earliest arrival is 1pm, so no  point in rushing.

We are off to spend Easter in N. Ireland with youngest son and family after a day out with local grandchildren and new puppy at Wicken Fen tomorrow. laughing.

Another moment of fame today. I appeared on Anglia news very briefly in the background in my role as a Welcomer at Peterborough Cathedral while they were filming about various Cathedrals having financial difficulties.

Goldie I will make sure I watch Country file on 30th April. How exciting!!

Packing completed by 21.30, just a few odds and ends to put in tomorrow morning.

OH put the 2 ring hob back in, though in the car, so the car is pretty  full now amd the van half empty.

Must see if we can find a weighbridge  somewhere and  see if we have good result.

Wet and windy tonight, hope the weather is better tomorrow.

We had a great day out. First of all, we went to B&Q to change the wrench. Then we visited the NT Batemans with its house, garden and watermill before heading into Kent to visit Scotney Castle with its house and extensive gardens and parkland. Magnificent weather all day.

Happy and safe trips to all.

Milliehull missed your appearance! Have a great time with son and family at the weekend, hopefully today is dry for Wicken Fen.

But will look out for Goldie on 30th ☺ lucky with the weather, will make it all look extra nice! I will be checking to see if I can see if your spring cleaning is up to scratch 😉

Helen I hope you get the call soon, more importantly I hope all the PDI properly carried out with no hitches. Lovely time with your family too.

No plans for Easter possibly mum here if things tie in. My nephew back from work trip in India,  so everything depends on others! Our son home following weekend with partner and dog, just had to put that in a better order 😲, Thursday evening for wedding on Friday so we dog sitting ( we regard having the dog to eat is disrespectful unlike some hey Brue and ABM?) And hopefully they'll be here for full weekend depending know farm needs. Asked NZ daughter and family too, she says perfect family reunion  😢 I wish!

Had a fabulous day yesterday to celebrate 40 years as a couple. Went to Southwold,  packed 😲 but hubby turned opposite way to traffic we were following towards a packed car park, drove 50 yards if that and car pulled out of parking space on side of the road. In there like a rat up a drain! All day parking no charge - so like him 😂😂😂. Cuppa outside hotel in the sun, passing horse drawn tours and traffic chaos to entertain us. Then walk along the front to Caravan park and back for cuppa and cake. Then onto Aldeburgh for a look see, didn't find anywhere to watt here.  Ended up in Harvester after couple of abortive pub stops. Home about 10pm.

Slow start to the day today but still bright and warm. Really could use some rain. Overnight would be nice 😉.

We've just got back from shopping in the Worthing town centre. We bought some coriander and duck eggs from the market and also went shopping at the Worthing Lidl where we bought croissants, some fresh vegetables, milk, steak mince and a bottle of chilli con carne sauce.

Of course it is! Well it was - dust and clutter soon reappear.

At least I don't have to cook today - despite feeding ten for lunch yesterday, there's still plenty left. Plus the cake tins are not quite empty. It's a good job we have milk "on tap" - a lot of tea was drunk!

Easy  To  Check if  my  Cleaning is  up  to  scratch  --  I  write  the  date  on  the  surface  the  TV stands  on  with  a  notice  to  visitors -->  You  May  Point  But  MUST  NOT  Touch.

ABM I took no offence, I think we have a similar sense of humour, cos that was my first thought when I read Brue's post.

Thanks for your good wishes, hubby said here's to the next 40 but we did the maths and fell about laughing!!!!

We went to Waitrose today for our weekly shop, a day earlier than usual because of Easter. I thought I would get some cash from the machine at the Metro Bank next door but someone beat me to it!!!

We had a similar occurrence at Baltic Wharf last year, I went to the hole in the wall ATM at the local shop, someone had stolen the ATM so it literally was just a hole in the wall. wink

This seems to be favoured method of withdrawing. About 5 years ago it happened to a large Tesco in our city two machines. Needless to say they just bricked up the hole and ATM's werelost. It happened in our son's village since Christmas, that one has been replaced but there are now physical barriers which I presume are to help stop it happening again. It's bad enough trying to get you own money às cash without charging for using ATM.  This won't help.!

Thanks for all the good wishes, the holiday has started well.

We did not rush to leave, so it was 10.25 by the time we set out.  Lovely and sunny, though quite windy, and chilly out of the sun.

Traffic not too bad, lots of roadworks on the M8.  Once past Edinburgh we headed south over the hills to Coldstream, a lovely drive, and arrived here at River Breamish at exactly 13.25.  Pitched in the area behind the toilet block, so not too far to fetch and dispose of water.

Very nice toilet block, so we will use that as long as it stays dry.  Site quite busy, apparently fully booked for the holiday weekend.  Had a late lunch before setting everything up.....water, waste, Alko locks......OH visited the information room so we are now considering what to do on our 2 days here.  Lots to see and do, so a return visit will be on the books.
