Malcolm didn't you work for Dominoes before and not like it undecided

Funny old day today, bight and sunny at times, then loads of heavy clouds, then sun again. Thankfully no rain as washing was out, really cold wind again (will it never stop)  Took trike out for a spin into Perth as we had it serviced and 1st MOT yesterday, runs a lot better. A9 South was chock a block with traffic due to the roadworks between the Inveralmond roundabout and the football ground/Tesco about 3 miles of tailbacks, managed to get through all the traffic on the bike though.

More work been done by OH, he's made a wind shield for the Cadac Safari it will also act as a splash back should I need to use it under the canopy smile more sorting stuff out for the van by me and housework frown

A day at CAB for me.

First client was an appeal against a benefit decision, but another issue was their Right to Reside status (client is Polish). Need further evidence from client, but hopefuly next appointment will be to challenge another DWP decision.

Second client I helped with filling in a rather lengthy form. She gave me £5 to put in the collection box at the end. Always so touching when people who are on such a low income are the ones who give a donation.

All packed at ready for the off to N.Ireland to see youngest son and family tomorrow. No caravan this time as we are flying over there.  We have just bought a new awning so a 2 night trip to Ferry Meadows is on the cards to try it out in a few weeks.smile

Yes, that's right, Tammygirl. I wasn't getting any pension at that time and they weren't giving me enough hours of work. However, now that I'm getting a state pension, it would be possible to manage on fewer hours of work.

There was nothing new in what the CAB adviser told me as IanH had already told us this. The only thing is that he asked us if we had a copy of the contract with dinner2go. If not, we would need to ask for one as an employment tribunal would need documentary evidence.

So we contacted the former boss at dinner2go to arrange a meeting to collect a copy of the work contract. However, he dodged the issue by saying that we should be making our claim against the driver who hit our car rather than D2g.

Also there is a time a limit of three months to bring such a case before the court from the date the job ended which was 1st April. That means I have until 1st July.

Visit to RHS Garden Harlow Carr yesterday and a stroll around Knaresborough. Had lovely fish and chips lunch in a retaurant attached to a chippy. Fish over 18 inch long, lovely light crisp batter. Supposed to be a large fish. Dread to think how big the extra large one must be. Ate about 4 chips and half a slice of bread with it. Filled me for the rest ofthe day. Not very nice this morning cold and wet near Harrogate

D2G will not provide a contract voluntarily. Such companies and many small employers are the same M.

Obviously though D2G cannot give you a contract of employment as they maintain that you are not employed 😑

If MM wishes to persist in discussing personal legal matters about a private company on here he should perhaps consult first with the Community Manager about the CMC guidelines.

If you intend going any further then you should ask in writing for a copy of the contract that you signed with them Malcolm. I am not surprised that you were not given a copy though.

Another glorious start to the day here. Slowly getting going.decided to finish off shed tidying and a bit of planting, we must get some moisture soon, meanwhile I just water them all in!

Delighted to report Cyclone Cook bought no damage to my daughters house, or friends of ours. Lots of heavy rain and some wind. It didn't hit landfall where they predicted but further south so missed my daughters city which would have been more in its path. Still caused lots of road slips and flooding for some. Checked the local news and lots moaning about lost business because of warnings that were causing folks to cancel 😮. The tail end of Doris caused flooding and they're still clearing up on places! Lots of power cuts and trees down so not a good idea to travel. Hopefully once roads are open people will go out as it seems to have blown in some blue skies ☺

I'd just like to mention that a contract doesn't have to be in writing, it can be verbal. More difficult to prove, but the actions of the parties tend to define what was agreed.

Oh, and the time limit for an Employment Tribunal is three months less one day.

And you have to go to ACAS to allow them to try to resolve the matter first (the time they take is added to the three months) and if they can't resolve it, you need a certificate from them before you can go to Employment Tribunal. But I expect Cit Advice told you all this.

I don't recall any mention of ACAS from the CAB adviser. He did mention that there is a £500 court fee which I would get back if I won the case. He couldn't advise whether it would be worthwhile to go ahead with it but he did think I should talk to D2G first. After that I did try to discuss with D2G but got nowhere with them.

I'm sure they would have told you about ACAS.

The fee is actually £390 (£160 plus £230 if it gets to a hearing) or £1200 for more complicated cases - depends what you are claiming for.

If you are on a low income you can apply for a fee remission (all or part of the fee).

As well as the Citizens Advice web site, this one has some good, basic information.

Dull day today but wind seems to have dropped a bit. Typical holiday weekend weather.

OH has washed both cars, leaving M/H until nearer the time of going.

I'm busy (not just now) doing washing again, where does it all come from. Going through my check list of things to put back into van, have already got lots of it done, bedding sat ready on bed in spare bedroom. Some food has already gone in (tins and packets) OH now going through his gizmos that he wants to take.

Great service from Germany and France, window stickers arrived this morning for van and trike smile OH going to scan all his documents and then email then to his account for back up. We brought €'s back with us from Lanzarote so don't need to get anymore just now.

Right finished my cuppa back to work.

A bit of a computer day for me.

We have a weather station and last December it started reporting excessive (i.e. up to 100 inches a day) amounts of rain. As it's on top of a hill we couldn't get to it safely until the fields dried up.Now, eventually, It's fixed (I think).

The data is transmitted by RF to a console in the house and then by USB to the computer and then by FTP to our server, and then - to various websites, including our own. To avoid spreading panic and alarm, and the mass building of Arks, I stopped all uploads and put holding messages on pages on our website.

Yesterday I started the uploads again and I have spent the morning updating our website. I think it's all OK . . .

If you're interested you can see the weather page - HERE

Or the full website - HERE

Or just look at our cows running out to grass for the first time earlier this week - on YouTube HERE

Had a morning out at nearby NT Lytes Cary, lovely old place, wanted to see how the tulips were doing. Lots of families visiting for the Easter Egg trail and field walks. The gardens were nice and quiet, so enjoyed a stroll around and a coffee....without a cake! (Possibly due to eating extra hot cross buns at home first. wink)

Goldie those cows are soooo keen. Watched the mole one too 😢. I do know they're a pest, especially in cow fields. Is there still a market for moleskin? I presume not.

Just finished off  shed tidying, my side us very neat. I managed a chuck out some of hubbys junk and rubbish. Unfortunately he appeared and started to go through the dustbin like something possessed but had to concede that I had only thrown out fully used rags and similar. I even found several empty containers. I REFUSE to tackle his three shelving units as I've no idea where to begin he is such a hoarder vhs mounting along sith old TV mountings but they may come in useful one day 😲. I want to tackle the roof storage but I'm not quite brave enough - but it needs sorting before too long or I fear for our heads 😦.
