Sunny start again today for our first walk ,not a soul out at 0645 then it clouded over but was quite warm when out at 1200 and plenty of cyclists and walkers around with numerous groups sitting in the fields, with picnics ,so it was an onlead for Rosa most of the way it takes us about 45mins if we do not meet any of the regulars

    Kj

Just wondering if you have been watching Lykkeland (State of Happiness) on BBC Four? It's the second Norwegian series they have broadcast in the last few months.

Sorry to some but it glorious here too. Feels warmer than the thermometer says! We had a grey cool day yesterday - still shorts and tshirt weather.

Good to read others news I read and then lockdown brain kicks in and I forget who said what so will keep it general 🤣

Wow whales in Northern Ireland and close enough to get there and video - not jealous at all.

Thanks for the good wishes for the puppy, they are beautiful aren't they?

Had to empty conservatory of things - as at long last the new blinds are being fitted tomorrow...... only been waiting since January 3-4 weeks he said!  2 lots of material received were imperfect so we started on a new colour, not sure what's coming now 😱. Be good to get roof blinds up they're sure needed now and before we have puppy to complicate the social distancing!

New dishwasher, Bosch, brilliant much better than the old one and despite being the same size holds more. Result!

Just need the heating engineers to be back so I can confirm they got my message re motorised valve they fitted. I had expected a response even if they weren't working normally!  And the company, local shop passed us on the makers/importers it's been that long I've forgotten! 😤  coming about our new gas fire, fitted before Christmas and started procedure soon after as it doesn't always light- fairly fundamental - hopefully we won't need it for the summer. We had a date for their visit but they needed one more thing so delay by a week - then lockdown before we got there!

Met my brother and sister in law their way yesterday for an unsociable walk. Didn't realise how much we needed it on day 58 of lockdown 😂. Feeling much better for it, A12 was busier than I'd hoped but not as bad as I feared. Potholes seem to have got much worse everywhere 😤

    Stay safe

Yet another beautiful Hot day on the Isle Royal Navy are out in Lyme Bay and we Now have 6 super sized cruise liners anchored in Weymouth bay, I know they are losing money but it is a lovely site.

OH decided we should go to Tesco for some bits an' bobs, it does give me opportunity to take Bramble for a run while the shopping is done.

However after all the work I have done I made a bit of a fuss, I won, So the MH was unhooked from EHU and tools and stuff tidied away. Its the first time since our last camping trip end of December that Molly has left the driveway, so we took the long way round to Tesco, parked up took Bramble for a walk and run whilst OH did the shopping, then drove back the long way, Its only a 5 mile circuit around the Isle but enough to get the oil and coolant up to temp and get the brakes working.

OH must of enjoyed the short trip,  because as I  parked up into the 'Hibernation' spot OH said to leave Molly at the front ready to roll.  I wonder what her plan is?

Slow start to the day as we had a sleep in till 09.30.

Then went into town for a few bits, dropped the masks off at my sisters, for her daughter to collect.

Took a more scenic route back home around the country roads, passed a load that someone had fly tipped. OH got out and took photos and sent them to our local council team.

We are seeing a lot of it around us lately not something we usually suffer with having good free council run centres. Since they have been closed its started. Yesterday early morning a tipper truck dropped a load on the road as he was driving. Thankfully it was on a straight bit of the road so no one ran into it, council cleared it up pretty sharp.

According to some in the village they have an idea who is doing it, so will wait and see if they are right, as the police are now onto it. So far this 'person' is suspected off dumping 2 caravans as well as loads of rubbish. How can anyone pay someone else to take rubbish away, when all the skip centres are closed. They are just as guilty in my book.

Dry but windy day here today, might try a bike ride in a bit, hope we don't get blown off laughing

More masks to make later and a couple of baskets of ironing frown

Had lunch then sanded down the wooden surround to the garage door and repainted it.

MiL, now 87, has just ordered and had delivered an exercise bike, one that is just the motor and pedals, a Cubii,so we put that together. It has various levels and we've persuaded her to leave 2-5 until she's comfortable with it.smile She'll do an hour each day on it. Her other one expired last week, so another thing to go to the tip when they open. You have to admire her pluck.

We've got a new neighbour from central London, a tiny studio flat with no outside space buys you a nice cottage round here. Unfortunately since he has started tidying up his garden he has dumped everything on our right of way and the adjoining neighbour too. We recognised the flowers that had been dumped (they will spread everywhere) not to mention the rubble and stones etc.) He ignored the query from our elderly neighbour, carefully asked to elicit the right reply so I've just had to stick a polite notice up....hope he can read?! winkundecided

It’s gone cloudy now, on and off, but still warm. I thought you were over Pennines? we are in rain shadow here. It dumps on West Sheffield before it gets to us.

Not the day we had thought it might be, it morphed into a tidying and cleaning one. But needs must.....even the pooch has been furminated and his bedding changed.

Plants to pot up, and a path to weed later......

Sounds like a bit of education is required there brue. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few more city dwellers decide that they can work from home after all this, and decamp from the Smoke to rural locations. No doubt there will be one of those funny “Understanding the.....” books out  soon.😂

Here you go brue, buy him this as a welcoming present🤣

Another fine day. I wish it would rain - our fields really need it. First it was a wet miserable winter, then it faired up and the grass grew. Now there’s been no rain for weeks and the grass seems to going backwards, we’re hoping to start silaging soon, but really wanted a bit more grass.

In preparation I’m stocked up with cold meat and cheese etc for sandwiches, and have started baking cakes that survive being rattled round in an ice cream box in a tractor.

I know, farmers are never satisfied!

TG.....what was the name of the site you stayed on near the caravan place at Dyce?    Looking for somewhere nearer the city than Banchory for, hopefully, September.

Whilst here reading today's CT post I heard a strange noise....heavy rain on the roof!  This is our first meaningful amount since we got back home 8 + weeks ago, and boy can the garden do with it. Just hope cut eases off while I take Flyte out later then it can rain all night for me.

It had been a cloudy but warm day up till the present, and we had a pleasant walk this morning around by the Abbey. I got my bike out again after lunch and had a 2 hrs ride around some of the local lanes. Plenty of smallish hills to plough up and I found a couple of lanes that I'm sure I've never been along before. Lots of folk out walking but few cars, except on the main road. Wound down with a 2 ml walk with Flyte before our evening meal.

I've plenty of spare time at the moment so might as well make the most of it.laughing Can't do with sitting around when the weather lets me get out. There'll be plenty of time to do that when it's wet or dark.

Thanks for the tip on the Bath Skyline trail M will try it sometime in the future.

Another lovely day here so the crowds were out when I went for a walk down to the beach.  Couple of guys launching jet skis in the river then further along lots of people fishing up at the harbours mouth.  Lots of folk promenading and nice to see families playing together on the beach.

We ended up on a CL but the site you are referring to was Hillhead Caravan Park at Kintore, Inverurie.

The CL was pretty basic just a mowed field on a farm, it had the usual water, waste and CDP, the road up to it though was awful very rutted and potholed. Don't think we would use it again, although it was cheap at £12 pn and relatively quiet.

Thanks, does not sound like a CL we would use.

Saw the Hillhead place and wondered if that was where you had gone.  The reviews of it on UK Campsite are very variable and nothing recent, did you look at it at all?

Was thinking of Fjord Inn which is listed as Inverurie, but then we looked at the map!  Much further out than we had thought,  Banchory would be just as close.

Sunny and warm start to the day ,when out on our walk this morning,

Much  more traffic about this morning

One of our neighbours is a teacher at one of the local primary schools,, this morning she was going in for the essential workers  children ,and advised it was going to be very difficult ,to get the social distancing that will be required ,and they were also cleaning the school themselves  getting it ready for opening next month

Probably a good time to walk around Bath without the shoulder to shoulder crowds! If everyone's heading for the coast town visits might be quieter. (If you can manage without facilities...)

Something different this morning, instead of the usual trailer drive a local flock of sheep, ewes and lambs, were driven on foot along our street this morning. Lots of bleating and baa-ing. Back to the old days for once. 🐏🐑

If you do the walk, I recommend doing it in the opposite direction to the "official" route - you miss a lung bursting climb at the start and the views of the city are better. (Unfortunately you have to do the climb at some stage though! wink)

Our niece is a teacher at a school near Dunfermline.  She was also saying how difficult it is going to be getting the school ‘safe’ for children.  Her school is an older style with only 2 toilets for 90 pupils and not much handwashing space either, some taps are too hard for the little ones to reach anyway!  She watched the Danish TV piece on the news and said ‘I wish our school could have a fraction of those facilities’.  One size doesn’t fit all for returning to school.

A degree of sogginess is promised for "The North " by our BBC North West Weatherman.  I trust it falls in a sufficiency AND on the right fields for the grass to grow to Goldie's satisfaction over the next couple of days wink

No we didn't go and look at it, can't remember now why we used the CL instead of the site.

Aberdeen isn't that well placed for sites nearer the city at a reasonable price is it.

We've used the site at Alford ( Haughton House)  few times but its about 16 miles out as well. Its a nice site though by a river, lots of walking and cycling if I remember. The town was close by to. Haven't been for ages though so don't know how it compares for price.
