The appointment at the doctors yesterday went quite well as he said that the ECG and blood tests for heart problems both came back negative, so all is well there but my ongoing condition for breathlessness, coughing and wheezing is almost certainly Asthma as all other avenues have now been tried and excluded.

I'll  have to remember to take an inhaler up the mountains with me, just in case. At least I'm now banned from dusting duties.smile

At least we can now say that we have no more pending hospital or doctors appointments before we disappear on the ferry in 3 weeks time.

I honestly don't know why I bother posting if people aren't going to read the damn stuff.smile

We're taking the ferry to Bilbao, having 4 weeks in Spain and then returning from St.Malo 2 weeks later, mainly so that I can visit my brother and SiL who live near there.

We were supposed to go last year but medical conditions and appointments got in the way.

Had a drive up to South Shields for fish and chips and a good walk along the beach. Quite busy with lots of Grandparents on duty with children, and the narrow gauge steam train was operating too! Fish, chips, ice cream, beach and steam trains - does it get any better than that?

I noted that in the free car park at Seaburn next to Morrison's supermarket (but not their car park) there are some wide and very long wide spaces that will easily take any motor home I've seen ( they are about two car lengths plus), and would easily take a car and caravan except there is a brick wall at one end. The car park is a few minutes walk from the sea front in case anyone else is passing that way.

Old age doesn’t come alone wink

Getting away as you’re doing (Spain > France > Home) is something that appeals, so maybe next year.

I have to have an annual check-up, and so far all clear. There is though always the spectre of further treatment being necessary, which has an impact on planning far ahead.

Anyway, I hope all goes well 👍

That's good news WN that you now have a diagnosis. Only 3 weeks to go bet you are getting excited laughinglaughing

OH goes to see the Consultant next Tuesday so here's hoping he gets a clean bill of health. He went to see the GP the other day to let him know he had got a private appointment and why, fully expected the Dr to be a bit 'tut'tut' but he said he fully understood and supported him in his decision. Even better he printed off the relevant details of what he had already tested for and his referral notes to NHS  hospital. Really impressed with his attitude.

Bit mixed weather here today again, sun and clear skies one minute snow and sleet next.

Friend from work phoned this morning while OH was out, that's 2 hours I'll not get back surprised laughing if OH hadn't come home I think we would still be 'chatting'

I've got a friend like that in Suffolk TG...she always phones on the landline and I walk around with the handset until the battery runs out! Nice to chat though. smile Hope the tests for your OH go well, don't blame you speeding the process up!

Fingers crossed for next year Freddy, good to think ahead and have a few plans lined up.

Glad to hear you can really start thinking about your trip Wherenext, sorry about the asthma. My BIL has developed it since retirement but he's done well with his travels too.

No news from here! Except stormy weather and glimpses of the sun. ☂☀wink

Freddy - Fingers crossed. Mind you we did enjoy our UK touring last year so we didn't exactly suffer.

TG - Excited? Moi? I've already packed my summer clothes! Only kidding as I'll have to find them first. Good luck to hubby.

Brue - I said to Mrs WN after returning from the surgery

"Well that's the 3 A's. Arthritis, Aneamia, Asthma"

"Don't forget the fourth A" she said.

    "What fourth A?"

    "Accident prone!".

    I love her, really I do.smile

Fine dry day and an easy drive across to Snape. Set up, washing done and out drying by 1:15. Pleasant walk to Snape village after lunch and clothes nearly dry by the time we got back. Had a heavy rain shower this evening but dry again and the wind has dropped too.

Good news about the scans WM. Hope things go well for you next year Freddie. Fingers crossed that all's well for OH after his visit to the consultant TG.

Good that you can get away WN, hope others with health issues are doing ok.

Corners, we had a very interesting day in South Shields a few years ago. We were touring in MH, decided to visit Arbeia, Roman Fort. Excellent visit, lots to see, and we were very surprised how nicely the sea front had been developed and landscaped around there. We drove right down Coast, unfortunately too late in day to visit Lighthouse, but we did go through Sunderland and over the big bridge there, and onwards further South. The coast around Tynemouth, both sides of river is very interesting, great watching all river traffic as well. Thanks for tip re parking at Morrison’s. If anyone is interested in Fort, I seem to recall you could just park up unrestricted outside, I think the area was partly under redevelopment when we went. Well worth a visit though for lovers of Roman history, it’s a big site!

We are out for lunch with friends today, they are the pooch’s favourite non family humans! So he's excited.......😂

    Thanks Nellie.

Nothing interesting, more of the same old, housework, cooking, knitting etc etc. OH went to dentist, he has to go back after Lanzarote to get a filling redone.

Weather to seems to be stuck in a rut, rain, wind, dull and boring.

Had a visit from sis and BIL, on the cadge as usual, laughing this time its an electrical 4 bar extention he was after. Him and OH have this system of sharing tools and equipment, trouble is we get to store everything and he just borrows it when he needs it. Half our shed is full of his stuff. He is a terrible horder at their house, sister has told him to empty the garage and get rid of all the junk in it, didn't go down well.

Did I say Accident Prone? 10 minutes after posting yesterday I went to make us a cup of tea. Dropped my, fortunately empty, cup which smashed into smithereens. I then cut my thumb when picking up the pieces. Not life threatening but Mrs WN and myself were laughing whilst running the cold water over it to stop the bleeding.sealedsmile

Managed to get lots of jobs done on the "To Do" list today and, touch wood, am bruise and cut free from todays exertions!

Mrs WN annoyed though. She went for an eye test about 3 weeks ago, was told her prescription was unaltered but that she needed a further test on one eye, so went back today. The eye failed the test because the optician made an error and Mrs WN does indeed need new lenses as the prescription has changed. Even more annoying is that she chose some new frames before her first test only to find out they were bought by another patient only yesterday. Now they're not sure if they can sort everything out before we depart for Spain. At least she was proved right as she felt she did need new lenses, particularly for one of the eyes.

Glad that no more damage than a broken cup occurred. You really should let Mrs WM handle complicated things like brewing up, with your record of accidents.wink

A fine day after a rather damp night, although it has started to rain again this evening. Went to Aldeburgh for a walk along the front and through the town. Saw lots of geese feeding on the fields by The Haven....mainly Barnacle Geese, but also Greylags and  few White-Fronted Geese. Booked next 3 sites when we got back to the van.

    TG

That reminds me of a fascinating conversation I had with my next door neighbour a week or so ago, hopefully it doesn't apply to your BIL!!! He runs a specialist cleaning company mainly dealing with commercial property. However sometimes they are called in by the police to clear houses where people who are hoarders have either died or had to be taken into care. They are very meticulous about recording what they remove from houses as they often have to discuss the contents with relatives most who seem not to want to have anything to do with the contents despite in some cases some of it being worth something. On one such cleaning exercise they actually found a body which had obviously been there some time!!! On the odd occasion they have been called to clean a house where a murder has taken place!!! I can't say my job was ever that interesting!

Early start to get Mrs WN and her car to the garage for service and MOT. The roads were awash and the rain lashed down. Too many people driving was if there was nothing to worry about.

I followed her down so that we could use my car to escape for the morning but it really was too wet to do anything, even with Cheshire Oaks next door.

The sun is now beaming down. What a weather system we have.

Weather completely mad here today, this morning it was really sunny and clear blue skies, so warm I turned the heating down and opened the lounge window for some lovely fresh air to blow through the house. Getting on with housework and noticed it had turned dark, then within minutes we had a heavy snow shower so much so that it was hard to see anything outside.

That has happened another couple of times this afternoon, crazy crazy weather.

Had a lovely visit from our DIL and 2 grandchildren late afternoon, stayed for dinner and a few hours after. The children growing up far to fast, though are turning into very 'nice' teenagers, our eldest granddaughter is as mad as a box of frogs and always has us laughing so hard we cry laughing her brother is funny without even knowing it what a lovely time we had.

Hope everyone is safe and well, it seems very quiet on here today.

Horse drawn or clapped out old van OP? We get the occasional “any old ironnnnnnn........” as something rumbles past end of little footpath. We have to chase if we have anything for them to take, as our road is too narrow. OH has odd bits of car occasionally......

There are TWO such Waste Removal / Recycling Experts touring regularly round Crewe. Both of them appear to have reasonably modern Transit or similar sized pick-ups. One uses a hand held Loud Hailer to attract our attention --  He drives and She gathers in the goods with the only charges I've come across being for Fridge/freezers due to the need for disposal of their gas.

    wink
