TG - Mrs WN and MiL had a weeks holiday around Cinque Terre and loved it. Mind you it was in summer.smile

Had a lovely peaceful afternoon as the ladies have taken themselves off to the flicks to watch Andre Rieu poncing about with a violin.smile Maybe I'm not allowed to say that anymore. Oops.surprised

Best wishes to anyone suffering, especially their other halves. Get well soon.

    • Sorry to hear about the lurgy getting both you, brue, and Freddie. Thankfully I seem to have got over the bout I had. Hope that you are both back to your best in no time at all.

Hope that you enjoyed the match, not quite the result you wanted, but perhaps they can beat them in the reply. Have a great time in York. Glad to hear that you too are feeling somewhat better, and that the improvement continues.

Hope that all those that are under the weather are soon back to full health, and those that haven't yet been infected miss out completely.

Thanks Nellie. To be honest, they were outplayed most of the time, but have got that lucrative replay. Thoroughly enjoyed our day, great to get to see a live match, been a few years. I hope your arm is mending up ok, you must be missing being out and about.

Pooch has had a ball with his doggy sitters.......got home to find he has had five days worth of food for his tea. 😱Sis sort of misunderstood what I said, thought he looked hungry! Not so much walking as waddling around🤣

TTDA five days worth?😯 They’ll be long walkies to walk that off!
We’ve spent the day clearing the bedroom in readiness for the decorator arriving tomorrow. (Yesssssss! 😊) It’s only taken two years to get this far. The old boiler in the loft gave up and leaked water, which came through as a stain on the bedroom ceiling two years ago. That was the start of this project! We pulled the carpet up today and took it to our local tip. The flooring company are visiting tomorrow to measure up. We’ve decided to go for a wood floor so I’ve been reading previous posts with a lot of interest.
I hope all the snuffles, coughs and sore throats are easing. 🤧🤒😷

Five days of wet food, added to his biscuits. Just what we need before we head off away. He’ll be ok, just have to avoid the veterinary scales for a couple of weeks🤣

You sounds like us Add, takes a dilemma to get us motivated for decorating.......gets in the way of holidays we find!😁

from what we saw of it on the tv programme, it looks nice and fairly easy to get from one to the other towns, will have to look at it in more detail before going. I'm sure the cruise will have a trip organised but would like to do it on our own if possible.

We've had 3 dry days so have been in the garden doing some tidying up, still got lots of leaves everywhere. Not seen this amount in all the years we have lived here. Possibly in the past the wind had blown them around other gardens but this year the autumn was so wet they just all stayed where they dropped. Visit to skip this morning with the trailer, 10 bags of leaves now in their composter. Rain has started and the wind getting up so no more work outdoors for a few days. Time to start the bedroom refresh I think laughing

Wow, have we dropped lucky. Arrived at YRP mid afternoon, not a lot of pitches left to choose from, but got a great one on edge of site that suits us fine.........and it is unbelievably quiet. There are some overhead wires and small branches on trees being hand pruned by contractors, so a whole section of the site is out of use. Hence, lovely and quiet.😁

Removed the centre console panel and the floor hatch and removed the nuts holding the airbag ECU ready for my tame mechanic to minister to it.

Repaired the ceiling plaster after the leak we had back in the autumn. Just have to blend it in a bit with the artex and a coat of emulsion and "you can't see the join" to quote Eric Morcambe.

You have my best wishes on two counts there, CY !

    My mechanic is an ex- company electrician who I have known for over 40 years, and his father for years before that. Notwithstanding that knowledge I still ain't sure I could / would call him " Tame " undecided. { He will be servicing & M O T--ing my Ducky next Monday I hope  }

As for your ceiling -- my only contact in that  business called Artex " An invention of the Devil " !!surprised

I’m sure you know this already CY, but the Artex may well contain asbestos. Just thought I’d mention it.

Lovely day here in York. Cloudy but rain held off, so a dry day. Strolled to Railway Museum, had a good look around and lunch there. Aside from all the big exhibits, there is lots of wonderful small stuff to view. Always an interesting day.

Horrible day here today very wet and windy so haven’t been out much. As I have said on here before our last trip out in the van was at the end of November and due to circumstances it is looking like it will be March before we get away again (fingers crossed) so we are busy planning our spring summer trips to keep us occupied. So far today we have booked a week at York Beechwood for early May that should be nice as it has been a couple of years since we were last there. Tonight I think we are going to book Berwick for the end of May weekend also we booked a 3 and a half week summer break in Devon/Somerset for July. Looking out at the weather summer in Devon feels like a million miles away.

Went to see Aged Sister today and all was  good, even her cat meowed and hopped onto my knee for a fuss smile but I could have done without the kneading of my thighs surprised.  Well that's where the insulin goes so I don't want any more holes there please  wink.

Now I'm sitting here with a fan heater aimed at me, trying to warm up the old bones since I committed the seniors cardinal sin -- asked my lady barber to -- " Lighten the load a little if you please  " and, dammit , that's exactly what she did. I think she might be seeking employment as a sheep shearer in the near future. I might have to put the hedge trimmer on charge so I can trim the beard in order to balance myself cry

Standard hospital appointment this morning that passed without a hiccup.

This afternoon was spent planning holidays and cooking a special meal for a special person. Yes, me. Oh and Mrs WN who will achieve another annual milestone tomorrow. Couldn't cook it then as MiL treating us both to lunch at a nearby hostelry. Who mentioned diet? Dirty 4 letter word, especially when someone else is paying.smile

We became great grandparents yesterday.  Our eldest grand-daughter gave birth to her little (8lb 20z so not quite so little!) boy just after 7.00am yesterday morning.  She had to have a C section in the end so she was a bit disappointed but she did her very best and is now recovering well.  We went to visit them in the hospital this afternoon and I have to say that he is absolutely gorgeous (I may be a bit biased though!). We are so very proud and relieved that all went well.

It has been a mixed day though as when I was on duty at the Cathedral this morning we had a very sad funeral. One of our ex choristers died in his sleep just before Christmas aged 25. Unexplained adult death syndrome apparently. A huge number of people attended, mostly young people - his friends and colleagues. It  was very emotional especially seeing his parents and brother.  How are they going to cope?

Triky, have you finalised your move to IOW yet? You may have already said but I've missed it if you have.

Millie, what a mixed day you've had. Great news about ggrand son but so sad to see a young life lost just when life gets going really.

Congratulations on your " Elevation " MillieH,  Brian has to admit he has never heard any relative of a New Born say anything other than  'oooo, Absolutely Gorgeous '  so you are in very very good company smile

Cy, thank you for your comment ( Well I assume it was aimed at yours truly undecided ).  It can be a mixed blessing 'cos the sparrows etc do rather like  ' home grown ' stuff - this ecology thing is catching on everywhere these days laughing

    Congratulations MillieH.

OH had an appointment at respiration clinic, the first since the Clot on the Lung in July, turns out it wasn't just a clot on the lung but it had impinged on her heart as well. So just as well she got to hospital asap. she is doing so well that the medication can be reduced by a half!

Strong wind and rain here, so will have to pin up the clematis support tomorrow!
