Both of our two cars and the caravan will need a wash soon. They seem to pick up a lot of dirt from travelling. Well at least there's more time to do it now that we're sited in Worthing and no longer have the one hour each way commute to do. It gives us an extra two hours a day.

New pipework to 2 radiators? Have you got a leak somewhere?

No, Kjell, no leak but they're completely blocked and it transpires that the plumbers when installing them about 13 years ago used plastic piping instead of copper. Don't ask me anything technical as plumbing and electrical problems are above my pay grade. I just used my brain in other ways to earn enough money to pay for problems to be put right. LOL

    Hope you enjoy your trip.

Brisk walk this morning and just got back before the rain came lashing down. Looks like I'm in for the day. Another one whose car only gets washed when it becomes embarrassing or when you end up dirtier getting into it as the muck transfers itself to you.smile

Blew rather strongly here last night too. So much so that I had to close the bathroom window which is always open a smidgen as it was causing the door to swing and bang! Never had that before in 30+ years as far as I know 😯. Calmer this morning thermometer says 14 but remaining breeze makes it feel cooler. Still no rain here in dry Essex,  moved some shrubs last week and have had to water daily as transpiration bad with wind blowing, yesterday they was dust blowing in little eddies 😲 it's March! Walked into town this morning, very busy, usually avoid on Saturday but mum wanted some bits and we're going tomorrow, gardening and spring cleaning there. Good job we've sorted ours. Just conservatory windows to clean inside and can't be bothered today sun has stopped it happening before. Quiet afternoon for us 😃 early dinner and off to quiz with friends.  Getting away in our motorhome next week yay at last. Very local CL and delughted to be able to get arrive Wednesday leave Sunday. They're surprised to be full in March. Must get motorhome at least sloshed over before we go as it's green. His new tyres all 5 of them 😲 look very smart. So must make the most of this quiet afternoon 😂😂.

It was years before I knew a car could be cleaned before it reached that stage Wherenext.  Personally I think all this cleaning is overrated. Bad enough keeping indoors looking reasonable without looking for extra 😂. We need a major event before were forced into car cleaning. This winter, been wetter than usual at times for us, he motorhome is more green than white so pride says it'll have to be sorted. Can't find someone to wash without pressure/jet wash so looks like DIY 😞

Now back from coffee morning, had some lunch and we are about to start the marathon money count.

It seemed to go well, rain stayed mainly off, so quite a few people tuned up.

We have just been to take a few things to the caravan and now that needs cleaning.  It is looking very sad.  I don't ever remember it looking quite so bad before.  It must be because of the very damp winter.  So that is a job for the near future as we go away in it in 2 weeks and I refuse to go away with it looking like that..surprised

Yes Helen we are off to Houghton Mill in 2 weeks.laughing I hope you have a lovely time up north and that you like the CL.

Well done KjellNN hope you have raised a decent amount. With regard the takings do you have to make several trips to the bank these days? Round here they all seem to have a limit on coin acceptance and I wonder how fund raisers get on. Haven't done PTA type things for a long time. Then it was just a muscle test carrying to the bank!

Milliehull I do get think I've ever seen our motorhome look so forlorn. Like you can't go away in it as it looks. Was hoping to clean it whilst we took it for new tyres but hubby had hurt his knee and we couldn't find anywhere to have it clean without power/jet washer, we weren't prepared to chance any damage too expensive to cure! Quite like the look of Houghton Mill must check out availability. We're nonfiction to Burnham Wick Farm we met nelliethehooker very briefly there last year.

Brue road dirt doesn't take long to appear but it doesn't worry me overmuch means you're out and about enjoying yourself. It's the green algae that's covering ours makes me ashamed. Looks like you don't care for it 😯

    Shock, horror! surprised

We had rain here this morning!

Anyway, a walk into Funchal, through the park, looked down on a huge Norwegian cruise ship then a wander around the town and the market (the fish market here is a particularly incredible sight).

The sun came back out later. We topped up our bus tickets and went for lunch, then a walk along the promenade and through the lido area in the afternoon.

Now sipping the first G&T of the day smile

This afternoon another car scraped the side of mine as it went past whilst I was parked in Broadwater to collect a KFC delivery. I was in the car at the time, so I was able to get all the details from the driver. So I spent a while on the phone with my insurers. It seems they've already organised the repairs and car rental for when it is being done.

Personally I think all this cleaning is overrated.

Bakers, my father would turn in his grave if only he knew. Mind you, the caravan is leaned upon return, the house is spotless and we have been known to wash behind our ears, so not all is lost.

I must admit that there are several serial car washerers in the village and they're out there come rain or shine on the same day each week, sometimes twice a week. Good luck to them, I've got better things to not do if only I could remember what it is I shouldn't be doing.undecided

    Thanks brue and B2......

Result was good, as I thought from how busy it seemed.  We raised £1669.32 after costs, which is the most in many years.

We have to  return tomorrow to put away all the cups etc, but otherwise everything has been cleared away as there were plenty of helpers.

We have bagged up all the coins and OH will take them to the bank on Monday.  She is the treasurer, they have a Charity Treasurers Account at the bank so use the "Business Banking"  desk, where they are used to dealing with lots of cash.

They have note  counting machines, and the coins are weighed, so only the non-standard bags have to be counted by the teller.

We got quite a few of the new plastic fivers, we noticed they are very bad for sticking together, at  least when new, so be careful folks if you get any.

Had a great time at the quiz last night first round full house and we'd played our joker. Naturally only one way from there. It's not the winning it's the taking part. 😉

Well done Kj, you must all be pleased with such a good result. Hope you get the final tidying up done and then have a rest!

We have an annual village plant sale coming up late Spring, will have to start growing a few things. Plants don't grow in concrete ABM.....laughing (if you're reading this?!)

Hope Triky manages to get through all those meals, sounds like a good weekend away.smile

Also hope Helen and Millie enjoy their trips away soon.

After today, lunch at the pub with the family, will be packing the van for a short tour of Devon and Cornwall. smile

Recently (Wednesday!) back from a wonderful 16 day holiday in the warmth ( and wet!) of Mauritius and trying hard to catch up with the news on here. Congratulations to David and Carol on becoming grandparents again, hope everyone who's away now or soon (too many to mention!) has a good time. Happy Birthday to anyone who's had one in the past 3 weeks. Anything important I've missed?

Ahhh yes, the sun was out again today!

Had a nice walk along tbe coastal path to Camara de Lobos - a little seaside / fishing village.

MrsH managed to find a bit of uneven paving and fell full length, grazing her knees  frown

Good job she's made of stern stuff!

Anyway, we continued the walk and sat in a shady spot overlooking the harbour, before doing the return trip.

Now sat on the balcony, sipping a sparkling wine (or two!) smile

Going to the Italian restaurant in the hotel tonight......
