So sorry to read about the delay with Margaret's hip operation @DavidKlyne Hope they get everything sorted soon.
Today has been a bit of a rainy one, here at Tredegar CAMC, but things are looking a bit brighter for tomorrow, although perhaps a little colder.
@nelliethehooker - to answer your earlier question.... Yes!! missed out on the free night!! 😧🤥

Expensive day. Spent a good few hours trying to find suitable holiday accommodation for MiL for later in the year. The parameters needed make it difficult and really cuts down the choice. We now tend to go by the property itself before the area although there are limits as to where we want to take her. No point if she doesn't fancy the area.
Anyway 2 different cottages booked, one in Summer and the other Autumn. Both within 2-3 hours drive. Had to smile when she told me she didn't expect us to take her away this year, after I'd booked them note, as she can't be easy to manage. Talk about understatement but we couldn't not find something for her. Gives her something to look forward to.

@DavidKlyne sorry to hear your plans have gone awry, frustrating for you both. Only thing you can do is look at it positively that they are being very careful, hope the reschedule doesn’t take long.
We have had a very busy day, most of hedge is out now, perhaps another couple of full days work. Thankfully the weather has been good to be able to keep going. We are going to give ourselves a week off garden work, then OH wants to start putting the fence in. I can’t wait to get a planting plan in place, luckily have rescued lots of established stuff, and have lots of things currently in pots that will also go in. Third stage is to have a stone circle laid on part of our lawn to take our swim pool.

Went to storage and checked the van before our trip on Friday, all good so looking forward to our first trip of the year.
Over the past few days been doing a big admin clean up. Surprising what you find lurking in the depth of the bureau including receipts running back to 1975. Anyway all cleared away now

Shame about missing out on your free night, @DSB, perhaps you will manage to utilise the next one, should they continue giving them.
It has certainly been an onerous task, removing that hedge, @Takethedogalong but I am sure it will be all worth while in the end. At least you now have a good supply of firewood!😁

Have a good trip away at the weekend, @Oneputt. We may head that way for our next trip but nothing definitely decided, or booked, yet.
Hope the weather is better for you tomorrow, @DSB and for theocratic your stay.
It was cloudy here all day with the odd shower. We paid our usual visit to Cheshire Oaks while in the area, but came away with very little, spending a lot more in Sainsbury's on foodstuff and fuel than in any ( or all) of the shops we visited.

Wishing you all the best for your upcoming medical journey @DEBSC, hope all is well very soon.We have just returned from a few days, dog, and occasionally grandchildren sitting, need a little rest now! Looking forward to a couple of days away in the Dales at the end of the month, hope the weather plays ball as February can be a tricky month but the hotel had a good offer on so we took the plunge.
Talking of fences we are awaiting a quote for our end of garden one, won’t be cheap as it’s quite long and has been recommended to have concrete posts and gravel boards, we shall see what comes!0 -

@DavidKlyne Really sorry to hear of the postponement of Margaret's hip operation at the eleventh hour; she must be very upset. No doubt they're being very cautious, but you would have expected an issue like that to have been raised well before now. I hope it will all be sorted out very soon and she won't have too long to wait for a new date.

Oh dear @DavidKlyne , that’s a right pain, just as it seemed Margaret’s pain would soon be a thing of the past. I have to say it’s a bit naughty that this issue has only come to light at this late stage. Keeping my 🤞that there’s no significant delay 👍
