Was chatting to a chap about our first France trip. He said that people have tickets to use to get discount. Do you get these so called tickets when you start using the ferry or tunnel on a regular basis??

I am not sure I understand your question. The only “regular basis”tickets I ever head of were Frequent Traveller tickets for the Channel tunnel - but they have not been available since 2022.

You can still pay a fee to join Brittany Ferries Club Voyage scheme - the discounts for winter travel are good, but hardly worth having if you travel in the summer months.

If you are thinking of using the tunnel you can use Tesco vouchers to pay for your tickets or part pay. The T&Cs aren't as flexible as those if booking direct. Make sure you fully understand them before committing.

There are various ways of getting discounts including Tesco vouchers and booking through the club. If you want the cheapest though possibly looking them all up and comparing is the best bet.

The companies do se dynamic, pricing which means that the costs can change either way at short notice, although up is the more usual.
