Ferry tickets

Was chatting to a chap about our first France trip. He said that people have tickets to use to get discount. Do you get these so called tickets when you start using the ferry or tunnel on a regular basis??

I am not sure I understand your question. The only “regular basis”tickets I ever head of were Frequent Traveller tickets for the Channel tunnel - but they have not been available since 2022.
You can still pay a fee to join Brittany Ferries Club Voyage scheme - the discounts for winter travel are good, but hardly worth having if you travel in the summer months.

There are various ways of getting discounts including Tesco vouchers and booking through the club. If you want the cheapest though possibly looking them all up and comparing is the best bet.
The companies do se dynamic, pricing which means that the costs can change either way at short notice, although up is the more usual.

Thank you so much for the information.

@Dunclair That's not correct. We certainly used Tesco vouchers for our tunnel bookings in 2022, 2023 and 2024 when we had a caravan. Friends always used them when they had a caravan, and that's going back to pre-Covid days, ie prior to 2020, and going back to at least 2010.
Tesco vouchers can't be used to pay for any pets you want to take though, you have to pay separately for them.

I also used the remainder of my vouchers for our 2024 crossing with car and caravan. The rewards system no longer holds the value it originally did. I recall £4 for every £1 of voucher being granted. I believe it has dropped to £2, but I stand to be corrected.

Yes, unfortunately now down to x2 for Tesco Club Card rewards. I remember when it was x4 and then down again to x3. I suspect if people do most of their shopping and fuel purchases at Tesco and also have a Tesco Credit Card they can still acquire a fair number of rewards over a year. Although I buy my fuel at Tesco and occasionally shop in their store I don't accumulate the number of points I once did. Usually got enough for a Two Together Railcard but even they have gone up in price!

Hi, Possibly someone was talking about a BF friends and family code? Whatever, that also is now history and as it stands doesn't seem to be any way of me getting my car and caravan across the water other than paying the full price.
Seems a very long time now, it was 2003, since we discovered Camping Cheques and club ITX fares. These made a combined BF ferry crossing and site fees for our trips to Italy virtually half the full price. Our last trip with BF was paid for using a F&F code saving us 10%-not so good but better than nothing.
