That's the way we feel, this multi pricing bands that the club introduced some years ago is just ridiculous.
A few pence here a few pence there what's all that about. Just give us simple pricing bands low, medium and high.
Also stop the ever increasing creep either side of school and bank holidays. Easter has now spread over 4 weeks, totally wrong, a few days either side is bad enough.
The other club don't even do that, if it's a holiday Monday, Tuesday it's back to normal price.
Of course now you have to go through a dummy booking just to see a price, no price list this year, all so wrong given its a members club.
Its not just the sites that are overpriced, MH insurance is a joke. Home insurance was competitive, well done on that but it took a week and 4 phone calls to get a quote, kept being told 'we will call you back'
The only reason we have stayed members is for the CLs, ferries and home insurance. We don't use days out vouchers as we rarely holiday here and have been to the places previously that interested us.

It does Nellie, the pool is very nice, we often had it to ourselves in the evening. (No lifeguards for AO swims, but that didn’t bother us, we are both qualified lifeguards if somewhat lapsed🤣)
Grand little place, the half dozen or so touring pitches are just as you go in, away from other things, and it’s a quiet location anyway. Some regular meet up holiday chums swopped to there rather than Marazion, as it was closer to village where their son lived. Considering the price of many CLs down in that area, (and I know there was one you tried but not keen on,) then we’ed pay that per night down there. So many have closed in the immediate area, for a variety of reasons. Large outfits would need to study route in not to get caught out in Marazion itself, mainly because of the sharp left hand turn outside the Fire Engine Inn, but with some study, most but very big outfits could get in.

We had car insurance through the Club one year, but the premium went daft at renewal, and for us the home insurance was prohibitive as apparently our timber frame house was a huge fire risk. CCC was good for the house when we were away for months at a time.

The home insurance through the club has always been good for us giving 90 days out of house cover.
Tried the C&CC who used to do 90 days but now offer 30, 60 and 180. The 180 days was at least £130 more expensive and we don't require that much. So once again we are back insured with this club.
Will check when car insurance due as they say they will beat our renewal price by £25. Saga have gone daft this year with their prices.

Over three years ago, Saga introduced a 'no price increase' for three years...
I've taken advantage of this for the car and the MH....In fact the prices for both actually went down over this period.
Having reached the end of that offer, my car renewal has risen this year, by about £40, but will be held (or bettered) for the next three...
I have UK breakdown on the car policy and European breakdown on the MH policy.
the house insurance with Admiral give upto 100 days in a single trip (we can only do upto 90!) and Staysure match this for the overseas travel insurance.

That's interesting because 3 years ago we did the same with Saga. This year our MH policy went up by 117% the quote now is £512. When we spoke to their agent she said the reason for such a high rise was due to the fix for 3 years and the cost of spare parts. We will not be renewing with Saga this year.
We have tried all the usual companies and the best policy we could find was through LV direct. Once you go over 70 they do like to hammer you.

Absolutely, someone (perhaps a working couple) taking a Friday and Saturday night away at Clumber every five or six weeks isn't pushing the boat out.
if those two nights (or more) were part of a more extensive tour (what retired folk do...) then perhaps they have to look harder at the bigger picture of the complete tour?
isolated nights won't perhaps make much of a dent in a couple's working income but for those retired folk on (fairly) fixed chosing Club sites over other options like CLs, small commercials or THS meets will certainly change the financial profile of a tour...

I have been unsuccessful in getting a CL in the Whitby area for the dates that we need so I now have a long list of the prices being charged. What the add-on for electricity is a bit vague at many, even when using meters, so the overall cost per night is quite high in many cases.
So I was pleasently surprised at The Club site at Low Moor being £23 a night including electric. I do also work out the density of caravans per acre and many CLs do seem to be packing pitches in. Overall still a good price in today's market.

Is that for single occupancy, dt, as many of the club sites used to be as cheap, or cheaper, for lone M/Hs / caravanners as CLs in the past?

Non facility site are the only type of CAMC sites that we are likely to use.
Excellent value for money, modern vans have everything that you need. We would be more than happy to see facility block's closed and the prices adjusted.
We find these kind of sites much quieter, folk just enjoying their surroundings.
Much less work for the wardens to.

My site is £20.10 for 2 adults nth. Single person is £13.50. Peak times whatever they are rise by 80 pence

Prices are extortionate I am voting with my feet. I have elected to stay away from Caravan club site this year they’re too expensive! There are alternatives.
It is a pity because I welcome to the new deposit system. I always had problems booking because people filled the whole year on the chance that they might be able to get away! When I try and book sites were full But I noticed often a few days before going there would be spaces but then it was too late. When you work you cannot risk waiting until two days before because you cannot reschedule your annual leave.
I noticed they’ve tried to reduce the booking fee but this is not the real problem, it is the extortionate hike in prices

They were excellent value for singles. Exeter Racecourse, despite having a small facility block was very good as well. OH used to pay £10.50 a night there, rising to a huge £15 once I arrived.😁

The price at Brookfield farm is for 2. Don’t know if you remember the old £14 ones and years before that they were £10 for 2 adults. Just done a dummy booking and it’s £13.10 for 1 on grass and £14.10 for 1 on hard standing. You won’t get a CL with electric for that. Think I will get rid of the wife but don’t tell her.😀

We were there too earlier during our last trip, but we prefer the grass pitches up above the quarry. We used it quite frequently when we were members a few years ago. It has always been good value as far as we are concerned.
