     my point was about the strange mixture of places that come up on a search and I really don't think an in house booking system needs to contain a rival companies (in this case Haven) caravan park. I'm sure many of us can get round the system but it would be so much better if the system was straightforward.

    As with any search engine I don't see it is that difficult to ignore the unrequired places and select the one of interest. At least now they are mostly places in the UK. Sorry to say right now there appears to be a problem searching for CLs. I have tried two browsers using my windows desktop and they both have repeatedly crashed.

    I agree the search list could and should be improved. Even if it is only to put Bovey Tracey, or what one is searching for at the top of the list. It is using Google and even on Google maps you get a lot of other stuff in the list.

    However, I don’t think the current issues make it unfit for purpose, they are just an inconvience.

    Sorry to say right now there appears to be a problem searching for CLs. I have tried two browsers using my windows desktop and they both have repeatedly crashed.

    It is now ok again, perhaps my fault for having multiple tabs open filling the cache?

    I wonder how much extra storage is needed to hold all that irrelevant info?

    Just go to the Stover site and have done with it😂

    With so many posts marked "content has been removed", I am guessing that members are pretty forthright in their comments on the new App? 

    Hardly surprising as there are so many bugs despite the rather fulsome Opinion report in the November Magazine. 

    Why despite ticking "Remember my details" does it require me to fill in details every time I open the App?

    Why are Club sites and Overseas shown by default but CLs have to be selected every time one logs on AND also again frequently while searching? I visit Club sites maybe twice a year and never an overseas site. I doubt if many members search both Club sites and overseas at the same time. Surely which sites are displayed can be selected and remembered without having to tick and untick every time?

    If updates are being implemented does one have to uninstall and reinstall the App to get them, or are updates installed as part of the normal updating of Apps (in my case though Google)?

    A long way to go before the App is fit for purpose.

    I haven't downloaded the app so can't comment but is the booking system more user friendly on the app than on the Web site?

    Depends on the size of the screen you are using, the larger the better. I would not use in on a small phone screen.

    Ah the joys of the new website.

     

    I booked a stay at Englethwaite Hall in September this year for next March, just in case I took a screenshot of the booking.

    I checked it today to verify dates etc. and It seems a new 'Feature' has been introduced. The maths is wrong, now showing 13 nights instead of 14 for my stay. See the screenshots below.

    All other information is correct but the site seems to calculate 31-17 as 13.

    What other mathematical shenanigans are going on I wonder.

    I've read of a similar mistake on the FB group, booked 5 nights, booking shows 4 but charged for 5.

    So why can’t they put this information on there own forum, not all people inc me use twitter, this info should be across Facebook as well as all other social media they use.

    Never mind the various anti-social media sites, it should be at the top of the booking page in this site - that is the first I have seen of the link.  When I had to phone up to make a booking today after failing miserably over the last two days using the so called booking system, there was also no mention of this.

    If they action all of that we should have the sort of booking system they promised, just 3 months late.☹️ The appearance of such a comprehensive and well structured list, out of the blue, does make me wonder if some serious rear end kicking has been going on.

    The visble list has been building up for weeks, it's not out of the blue  it's hard to believe the system was ever tested properly but the fixes are getting more specific. 

    Hope they've picked up on the fact that you can't print booking details from the system. Has anyone reported on this discovery noted this week? I just assume someone looks at posts on here too? 

    I wonder who originally presented a " must have"  list to the developers it must have been quite small. wink

    it's hard to believe the system was ever tested properly but the fixes are getting more specific.

    They obviously did not have a good user spec if they had one at all?

    They have fixed some minor issues I have reported quiet quickly.

    We will have to agree to disagree on that one brue. The list has several additions not seen before and in more detail. The one that particularly stands out is the 25 mile limit on the centre of the map search. A very sensible addition. Although I do wonder wether the desire to list more than 20 in the search pane, might conflict a bit with speeding up the App.

    I didn't intend to offend Steve.

    By the way the 20 site limit fix is because that's all that could be seen, you couldn't see any more than 20. For CL owners this has been awful with only the first 20 showing on a search alphabetically eg it might get as far as a site beginning with B in some instances. The a-z search wasn't functioning.

    Hopefully you'll now be able to scroll on past 20 named sites.

    Limiting it to a 25 mile centre will naturally shorted the list if they keep the dynamic link between the map and list.  This may well speed up the map display as well?

    All will be revealed IDC no doubt!

    I’m not offended brue, we just have a different take on things. Hopefully as well as listing more, the fact that it is going to order them as a default in distance from the centre of your search, presumably out to 25 miles, will mean that all CL owners get a fair showing.
