New Booking System

That is development time ,not implementation period in the real world ,there is a massive difference
It is not unusual for most new things to have real world issues, that where not sorted in development
For instance new model vehicle recalls is common, not unusual0 -
So you don't see taking duplicate deposit payments as being unusual or a matter worthy of comment?

I hope one of the "issues" being resolved is to include the name of the campsite in the summary of current bookings. It is absurd to have to click to view each one in turn to find out where it is.
Unless I have just failed it to find it the loss of the ability to view site availability in terms of type of pitch (i.e. the old "if you are flexible on date view by month") is a great shame. I hope it will be re-instated soon.
If one was a cynic you might assume removing the facility is so that we can't see that weekends are still fully booked for months ahead, the prevention of which was supposed to be the reason for introducing deposits.

Where have i posted that ?
All i have posted is give the club a reasonable time to sort out the issues.0 -
Could be it works differently on different devices. I tried North Yorkshire on my iPad for this weekend. Like you it came up with no results found and a map of the area round settle. However, there was a button below to search for nearby sites. This brought up a map showing Hawes, Lower Wensleydale, Thirsk, Wharfedale, Bolton Abbey and Knaresborough. The sites all showed Full but were listed down the left hand side.
One things certain it isn’t user friendly and hasn’t been adequately tested. Why for instance when I start typing North Yorkshire do I get places with north in Canada and the USA. There seems to have been very little attention applied to detail in the sites development.

New car recalls are by and large a thing of the past and have nothing in common with IT system roll outs
The club are fortunate to have members as compliant and easily pleased.
There is no excuse for the incompetent implementation of the new system.

When you are in "Late availability" and looking at the chosen site by selecting "Book now" as you change the pitch type so the calender changes to show the availabailty of the type selected.

I feel that the 'club' is changing to a commercial enterprise. As loyal but older members we have never 'not turned up' but due to health problems have on occasions had to cancel or re arrange dates but always within the 72 hours required. There is a vast gap between 72 hours and 21 days notice, plus losing a £25 deposit. I am positive our situation cannot be unique. Please think again.

Good for you TG. One of the problems is there does not appear to be any help or prompts on how to use the new booking system. You learn by trial and error which many are having difficulty with and are too quick to complain. I was equally guilty of this when I could not find the detail of CLs.

I’m relatively charitable when it comes to teething troubles on a new system, but this one has been a disaster from start to finish.
No notification that the site was going to be down for a day and a half.Releasing all withheld months at once resulting in total site overload and failing to cope with deposits, emails etc as a result.
Did they consult members on the changes, because a lot of them are not for the good. Late availability is a case in point.
Lots of very obvious mistakes on the website, really basic stuff like number of hardstanding pitches, so clearly inadequate checking.
I could go on but there would be little point. The whole launch has been one big embarrassment.

What is done is done and I doubt there will be any going back. I also have never not turned up without good reason (I broke down once) and have rarely cancelled and when I have it has been with considerable notice. I think the new system will be much fairer.

New car recalls are not a thing of the past, they are most certainty not
Compliant members, i suggest you read the posts which prove they most certainly are not0 -
I don't think you can make that assumption at all. I've spent a lifetime in IT and seen a lot worse implementations than this.
I've seen IT lead ones which haven't been properly owned by the business and I've seen business lead ones where IT have been shouting the system isn't ready but the business wants to go live anyway.
For example, the launch of the NHS Covid booking system was much worse than this and that had virtually unlimited amounts of money tossed at it and it didn't even need a payments engine!!! How much did Test and Trace cost (10s of billions) and it never worked.
Give the folks a break. A lot worse things happening in this world than being kicked off a caravan booking system.
I'm sure they'll sort the teething troubles.

Teething troubles? After two years! And several delayed starts
If when it had been tested at site level during Training! and it seems many problems came to light. why was it not tested again before being implemented?
As said by site staff via a phone call yesterday "we are not in high enough wages grade to be expected to know?"

I wonder if you’d be so complacent if it was your money they'd taken twice🤔

I think people might be a little more forgiving if this was the first time the club's IT systems had goofed but it isn’t.

Well, I've listened to social media slate off the old systems for years and you can't run old software for ever. Period.
Now they bought a state of the art package and everyone wants to turn the clock back...
And we aren't yet 1 week in!!!

My booking was going well, until I had to enter DoB for my wife and I. Using the calendar offered must have been designed by a younger person .... Do you know how many times I have to click to go back one month at a time to my DoB? I gave up because I lost the will to live at over 100.
Why not the common approach of displaying the format you need and then allow free entry?

I believe you can click on the year and choose the year and then month.
At least that's what they are saying on FB

I think only a few people are calling for the return of the old system, not everyone by any means. You exaggerate greatly there.
The vast majority of folk are expressing discontent with the new system, finding and sharing work arounds and, by doing so, are pointing the club in the right direction, hopefully.
I think you do your fellow members a disservice by slighting them in such a manner.

I'd be extremely relaxed. The club will sort it out.
As a frequent internet purchaser this happens all the time to me. Best was Brittany Ferries taking 3 times excess of a grand each one. Stuck in Berlin when Ryanair cancelled the daily flight for 3 days.
Perspective I feel.
Pay by credit card if you don't trust the company to sort it out as it is very easy to get the card issuer to sort it out with a charge back.

You certainly can on the iPad. You can even scroll the wheel back into the 1800’s 😂
