Unfortunately, Rowena, that does not address the issues raised in my OP which is not about bookings. Even my very low opinion of the club and its ways has been rocked by the disregard shown to members and, sadly, you are doing nothing to alleviate that.

Actually, in my opinion it is a feeble excuse, Brue. You obviously believe differently but I think we can agree that it is far from professional.

I simply want to get on the website to search for the availability of sites in a particular area like "Highlands" before making a choice and booking. Ten minutes to get on the website after queues; can't check availability of any sites to see what dates might be available before making that choice.

Tried earlier  to get on the website just to browse "Club Together - Discussions" or "Club Shop" - had to join queue for 7 minutes. In this latter case, I suppose it's not important and I'd just be clogging the system when others want to make bookings so I logged out. I can't imagine how frustrated the regular contributors to the different forums must be feeling as they must spend hours on the club's website in normal times.

The new booking system has been put back and put back for months because of "issues" that it  seems that have been highlighted I understand from numerous.quarters ,yet under "pressures?" from above it seems it has been implemented with several serious.problems still to be resolved,

Which seems have come to the attention of members since it was introduced, and even site staff are now not "in the loop" with what is happening  as it is not, I am advised by a phone call this morning as to how the system was first advised to them some months ago

Rowena we actually need to make a booking and I waited till things calmed down this morning. A 15 minute wait ensued. I found I was unable to confirm the age of my OH, the calendar won't allow it and it can't be entered manually. It took several minutes to get back as far as 2000 so I entered him as a youthful companion!!

I then got to the payment bit, hooray! No, alas it stopped dead and the message was to ring HQ bookings. I rang the booking line but it wasn't available.

Will try again  later but was surprised the calendar hadn't been fully tested. I'm on an android smart phone just now.

There was someone earlier posting that he succeeded @ around 0300hrs, drastic but it may help if you are worried enough to get things sorted👍🏻

concur all previous comments!! After waiting over 2 hours yesterday to book Abbey wood site the booking crashed twice, I then managed to get as far as payments which when crashed and said ring the central booking line...... absolutely NO way to get through!!!

I then rang the site direct and the lady took almost 40mins to complete my booking (not her fault, website fault, surprise surprise)

Just checked my bank and the payment has gone out twice!!

Frustrated and fed up is an understatement!!!

Perhaps if the team had worked tirelessly in the first place we wouldn't be left in this mess!!

May have lost a post so am repeating that I've now had success. It took about 15 mins all in this time, I used my laptop and the calendar problem went away. I nearly double booked as it retained my previous attempt. Advice would be to use up to date devices and double check everything (my smart phone is up to date but for some reason it still didn't work well.)

Looks like things are moving in the right direction for some of us, I appreciate it won't be ok for some.

Strangely on my phone I noticed an "add you pet later" somewhere along the line but it didn't materialise, so that's another mystery. undecided

This web site was good ONCE... not happy campers. Tried last night and again this morning FAILED. Could well be our last year with the C&MC.

    SORT it ASAP.

Eventually managed to log in to  the CAMC site to check my site bookings. Clicked on the “my site bookings” tab only to be taken to a page where I was in a queue to enter the “ book a campsite “ page. That’s not what I wanted to do so I tried the UK Sites App, only to be told that the credentials I had entered were wrong. I hadn’t entered anything. What a shambles!!

Hi managed to book a site after only 20min wait and everything went Ok. Informed me that confirmation email would be sent as usual just received 10 emails confirming booking does that suggest i have booked that many times or did someone press the wrong button.

You’re welcome, Ted, and I’d be interested in hearing your views on the points I made in my OP.

There is a thread of complaints in the CL section which maybe of further interest to you.

I’m feeling left out, I only received 5 😂 at one minute intervals. I do only have one booking though and they have only taken one deposit. I checked, as the way the site is running anything is possible.

I totally agree with the above and the site is appalingly bad to use! I hope the person responsible has had the decency to resign! My 15 year old Grandson could do better than this!!!!

Is the queueing system because of the technical issues only or is it going to bea permanent thing?

If you don't mind I have reported your post as we have had a similar experience and I've asked for an urgent response regarding this matter, we have had two payments taken when it should have been one.

I don't have a booking confirmation either so this isn't helping.

It's probably a series of issues causing the problem. Booking a year ahead was paused in June and this built up a greater demand than there would have been had those year ahead bookings were not paused. I also expect there has been a degree of curiosity from members having a look at the new system when they probably don't really need to but that adds to the to the demand on the system. Probably better to judge the new system in a weeks time when hopefully things will have calmed down? Then of course we will be in a better position to report any snags and suggest changes although the latter may fall on stony ground!

From information I have received those in charge of implementation of this new system!? are it seems doing as has been a problem at site level for many years from EGH with the "what do they know" attitude as appears has again happened?

EGH failed yet again to consider that in previous walks of life quite a few site staff held very good positions in many Industries with a lot more experience including IT than EGH staff and do not seem to have taken on board the problems that had been highlighted when it was introduced to site level staff

I had posted a new thread but the moderator kindly asked me to post here.  I see a few other locked threads in a similar vain.  My original post ….

How is everyone getting on with the newly launched Bookings page?  For myself, we’ve been trying for 3 days to look for and book a couple of stopovers going to Aberdeen next month.  Should have been a 15 minute exercise. Saved one site in the basket, can’t get back to it.  Now, searching for sites in Scotland, it lists every ‘Scotland’ on the planet, but not the Scotland we all love! And, at each turn, I am booted out to rejoin a queue.

Can the old site be restored - as the new one needs some serious work ?

    So, what are your experiences?

For me, a site booking saved in my basket has now disappeared, and 5ge site is full on the dates required (Oct 2922). This is so frustrating!  One of the core reasons I joined and use CAMC was the ease of booking. I think we will need to reconsider

There are lots more views in the linked thread -

    https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/club-together/discussions/sites-touring/uk-sites-touring/what-have-they-done/

which is more about booking experiences than this one which was primarily intended to be about the club's failings in communicating with its members but the two threads have rather overlapped so it’s of no consequence now.👍🏻

Incidentally, you can choose your own username by visiting My Profile - if it’s working.😆

Apart from the consistent inadequacies of the Clubs IT (running as it has for years the slowest site I have ever used), what really confounds me is why so many members seem to be hell bent on wanting to book the most expensive sites in Europe? Up to £50 a night .  Come on. Oh sorry, I know - the facilities are wonderful!! The clubs pricing antics now mean that they take the lead on pitch costs, over very many commercial sites.  Hey this is meant to be a club for its members, not in it for commercial gain.  The trouble now is I see a price increase trend emerging among CLs (my touring of choice in the UK and the only reason for being in the CC in the first place). IIs this being driven, I wonder, by those officers in the club dealing with CLs? How, with ACSI, was I able to again tour France for four weeks this year, staying on many delightful commercial sites, and pay only between 14 and 22 euros a night!!!
