Well ,it’s down to the wardens to enforce it and not roll over

Is there two threads like this one? As this one has more posts I'll repost.

From what I have read about people being turned away yes.

    Hope it continues!

    Yes agree fully micky.

There does appear to be multiple posts, how does that happen? Oh well, at least that message is getting through. 🤪
I believe that the vast majority of us comprehend arrive and checking in times are one of the same. I also believe some will use this as an excuse to arrive early.

Seriously I just feel that the arrival time and booking in time are exactly the same thing as I’m sure the vast majority of us do. I also believe some will use this as an excuse to arrive early.

When we were staying at Merrose Farm site in Cornwall in May 1 outfit turned up at 11.15am and as no barrier they parked in the arrivals area and as all staff were working on site with office closed at 10am until 1pm they saw the staff and were told just walk around the site if you have not been before which they did and eventually got on to their pitch about 12.50  and no complaints either.

I think some people make the assumption that earliest arrival time is the earliest they can expect to book in, which of course it is, but they don't translate that into not arriving at the site prior to that time.

Therfore, they arrive at the gate early and park up blocking the entrance/exit/roadway waiting for reception to open. Arrival time is surely as the word says, arriving at the site.

These were the scenes at about 12.45 ish early May. I'm not sure what time they arrived but I took these photos while walking out.

The wardens who I think were relief wardens and had their unit opposite reception and the approach road is blocked by the tennis club hut and trees so they couldn't see what was happening. I assume they were having their lunch after cleaning finished at 12. To their credit when they were walking back to the office they noticed and literally ran to meet the queue, which really shouldn't be necessary in my view.

As you can see the first three outfits were out 'out of harm's way' but the next three were stationary, with the white MH jutting out into the road (and really should not have stopped like that) and the other two were stopped on double yellow  lines and the blue MH stopped on a corner on the busy main road thorough the village causing walkers and cars to go around them.

Now the caravan I suppose was stuck, or more stuck, being hitched up but the blue MH should really have driven away, no doubt in my view anyway.

As it was about 12.45 I assume all these had tried to 'arrive' for 1pm? But as I said above they might have been there before 12?

I believe a local was ringing the police as we walked by. The warden told me later that the police and locals are getting more and more annoyed.

I'm sorry if you recognise yourself from your outfit but maybe hopefully you now know what time the arrival is and what problems and dangers you were causing?

New England Bay has a long entrance from the road as well as car/motorcaravan parking courtesy of the council. The weekend of the jubilee the units waiting at 11.30 am stretched back as far as the road and some persons were standing at the office steps waiting for it to open!!!

It doesn’t translate to what they want to do may be more to the point, Tinny.👍

Arrival time means arrival time for all! I can envisage the selfish few still trying it on and them then writing snotty reviews about fictitious things, no matter how polite the request for returning later might have been. Sounds like JK has many dents in his hat, hopefully fewer to come in the future as the message gets home.

There were similar problems at Englethwaite Hall 2 weeks ago.  The site driveway was completely blocked by 12.30 and arrivals were backed out onto the narrow road.  Those already on site couldn't get in or out!  The earliest arrival turned up at 11.15am.

Last weekend we were at the Stamford site, our first actual club site for quite a while, but as the booking reminder said arrival from 1pm we were aware of the time change, as would others.

On Saturday we arrived back at the site about 12.20, 2 caravans were waiting by reception, not sure what time they had arrived but one couple had just got back to their car after taking their dog for a walk! Reception doesn't open until 1 o'clock so they couldn't book in until then, I suppose if you're are happy to hang around for over half an hour or longer to check in. undecided

That would not happen now as there is a notice normally ,in front of the office advising that the earliest arrival time is 1pm and to leave and return at that time or later

Especially when sat navs, which most have, give ETAs.

Other sites have notices up. However if there is room and no road blockage it might be better to allow people to wait as the C&Cc does.

Yes, seen these all over now. It does appear that the message is getting through, JVB. It’s just that some don’t like it and some may be throwing their toys out the pram. We now know 1pm., we have the ability to check journey times before departing, many of us have satnavs which give us real time updates and we may even have a watch on our wrists. Plenty of options and solutions available, even at a last resort on route, to ensure we arrive correctly.

That is the problem with quite a few sites there is no room to wait ,FM used to have  but no longer with the additional needed security barrier

    • CCC keep the site shut until 1300 at St Neots and at the CCC site at Sandringham it is not unusual to have arrival queue blocking the access road so departures cannot leave

Very true, and possible staff have other things to do other than traffic manage these early people, maybe even grabbing a bit of lunch on the hoof prior to the 1pm arrivals.👍

One thing that is very noticeable is how many people think that because sites have more than one couple to run it   that they should all be there seven days a weekundecided
