How's your footy team doing?

Totally agree, Posh played very well. Watch out for their speedy wing play and long throws🙂.
Enjoyed the game. Found the reception given to Oleksandr Zinchenko quite emotional. Every fan, ground stewards, police etc gave him a terrific ovation at the final whistle, never experienced anything like it before.
And, yes, we did have time to visit the wonderful cathedral, and found Catherine of Aragon’s burial place. Very low key, for an English queen, but I suppose that was the idea at the time.
Good luck for Friday, we’ve another big game on Sunday, getting nervous already. 😱

Home ties for the Championship teams in quarterfinals!!
'Boro v Chelsea....just what you wanted, tda?
Forest/Hudderfield v Liverpool.....not really the draw that you wanted, Rog!
Away again, Pliers, but you have missed the other big 2.

And The Terriers go marching on....some charge this one. Will they be able to stay second in the table, do you think, Rog?

Sounds like a plan, albeit an expensive one the way fuel is going up.
Big match tomorrow, local derbies don't always go the way of form, so there must be some trepidation about the result.

I’m not sure NTH, I know points on the board are good but Bournemouth have four games in hand and are only one point behind. In fact as soon as they step on the pitch if we’re not playing, they’re back above us on goal difference . On the plus side they did throw three points away yesterday and got the manager and a player sent off😀, and we’re still second for now.
The Posh looked a totally different team to the one which played you midweek Pliers. The match was over after 7 minutes to all intents and purposes. Town went two up and then switched into game management mode. It was a very professional performance even adding a third in the second half, Peterborough didn’t have a shot on target until time added on!
We’ve a tough game at the City Ground tomorrow night but there’s a big incentive for both teams with a home tie against the dippers for the winners, fingers crossed we’re still unbeaten at a quarter to ten.

That’s what happens when you make six changes to a winning team. Clearly we’re prioritising the league, although we’ve another tough game on Friday against West Brom.
Overall the club are in good shape. The B team are through to the knockout section of one cup competition and the women’s team have got to the final of their cup. The women’s development team put 12 past a South Yorkshire team at the weekend.
It’ll only cost me a couple of quid to watch the B team tomorrow night so if it’s not too cold I’m pretty sure I’ll pop down.

Brilliant sound and light show, pre kick off, tonight.
However, that was the highlight, game was pretty boring. Through to the next round, so never mind. ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

I had a dream last night. In my dream, Chelsea were banned from playing in the FA Cup, because of Mr Abramovich. So the FA said, hmm…..we think Middlesbrough ought to have a bye into the next round……….🤞🤞🤞🤣🙏🙏🙏

Could just be wishful thinking, tda, but one never knows, as stranger things have happened. However reading the latest on the situation it seems that the game will go ahead.

Quite possible Nellie, but perhaps behind closed doors, almost like two years ago since they are not allowed to sell tickets any more but tickets already bought [ season tickets etc ] can still be used. Well that's my understanding at 10:20 pm ! , it might have changed or even altered by 07:00 Friday 11th

At this rate the Chelski players will have to travel to away matches in their parents’ cars like they did when they were kids.
Town were undone by another awful referee last night. Cruising at two up thanks to two goals courtesy of the Baggies keeper the clown with the whistle was conned by one of the home team. Looking at the replay he’s gone for a ball on the edge of the box our lad has his foot a bit high but the West Brom player actually heads the ball then goes down holding his head as though he’s been kicked in the face. That’s simulation and he should have been booked.
Ah well as they say that’s football . The unbeaten run in the league goes on to 17 and it’s off to the lion’s den to face Millwall on Wednesday before a big six pointer with Bornmuff next Saturday

I see the Lions and the Robins did you a big favour today, Rog. For the 9 teams below you there's still a lot to play for, with only 4 points separating them. Although that could change tomorrow depending on the Hatters/QPR result.

Listened to the Sunderland V Crewe game on Radio Stoke and it seems that 'Alex were a shade hard done by around the time of them conceding the first goal but Referees do have their own views on interpretation of "Time Wasting "
No further comments needed I think

Yes the Lions v Boro result in particular was very useful. QPR are well in the mix after their match today and we have to play them and the Hatters at home so two more massive six pointers.
The match at Millwall won’t be easy though and a point will be a good result I think
Come on you Terriers

The match against Millwall tomorrow night just got a whole lot tougher. I’ve just discovered that the referee will be the same incompetent who chalked off a perfectly good goal and denied us not one, not two but three cast iron penalties against the Blades a few weeks ago.
I can’t pretend to understand why the EFL though it a good idea to send him all the way from his home on the Isle of Wight to West Yorkshire for that. He’ll be much nearer home tomorrow.

Well all good things come to an end 😒 Town were beaten by the better team. Both goals scored by a player we had on loan from Arsenal 10 years ago. He was a raw 17 year old then and I’ll bet Stoke are wishing they hadn’t loaned him to Millwall.
Onwards to Saturday and another massive match. The ground should be pretty full, they’re selling a seat anywhere in the stadium for a tenner.

Huddersfield Town football club never cease to amaze me. I’ve just watched a short video in which the club have promoted their latest community initiative .
The club have created a special inclusion room in one of the boxes in the family stand which can be used to enable families with special needs children to come to the match, something they might not have been able to do in the past.
They have taken the box next door and adapted it for wheelchair use, including replacing the windows which look onto the pitch to give an unrestricted view. The head of supporter services thinks it’s the best view in the stadium .
One of the players who has a sibling with special needs is really chuffed because his parents will now be able to come to matches, and one of the coaching staff with a child in similar circumstances is also very pleased.
Well done HTAFC👍👍👍

Not the result you wanted, tda, unfortunately. Back to the fight for promotion, along with a whole group of others.

Just back from the CL game v Atletico Madrid.
Photo is the pre match “display” 🤔, and the game wasn’t much better!
2nd leg will not be easy. Neither will the big game on Sunday. Not good for the nerves 🙂⚽️🙂

Back down to earth and squeaky bum time in the Championship.
Luton are the visitors to the JSS on Monday night ( thanks for nothing Sky).
This triggered a memory from the dim distant past. I remember watching a cup final between Luton and Nottingham Forest when one of the Forest wingers broke his leg, this was before the days of substitutes.
Just goes to show how the memory plays tricks. I though that the player’s name was Len white and Luton went on to win against the ten men of Forest.
I googled it and discovered that the player was actually Roy Dwight and Forest held on to win 2-1. Mind you it was 1959🤓
It’s a big 6 pointer on Monday

Well after some pretty dire results at home, this season, I was amazed that the Tigers won at Middlesbro' yesterday. What a result
Although the local pundits are now saying that they are safe in the Championship this season, that's a bit premature - but on the other hand the chances of Barnsley winning all their next six games is a bit of a pipe dream (I hope!)
Let's see what the summer transfer window brings
