I can hear a broad Yorkshire accent in my head saying "It's fixed lad, nowt as so sure I tell thee" It's also said that lightening never strikes twice, but that doesn't seem to be the case for England's ODI team!

Who was it said crikkit was boring??

You'll have to dig out your thigh pad Brian to protect you from Alfie, never mind Starc 😉

     I don't believe it!!

There I was, sat on the sofa, feet up, brew to hand and watching Bairstow despatching Aussie bowlers to all parts of the ground. All's well  - until a comfort break. On returning I see no crikkit ont Tele, just a sign, informing me there's no satellite signal to my box! What the blazes is going on????!! Thoughts immediately turn to possible sabotage by the missus? Checks reveal this is not the case, but 3 hours later, 4 or 5 phone calls because I cannot understand the "helper" at the other end of the line, blood pressure off the scale - only to find out I need to book an engineer and the Convicts have won!

    Disaster!!

well, JR , I do hope you have been enjoying the early morning alarm calls from " The Fort", Galle, Sri Lanka laughing  I've tried ever so hard to avoid rabbiting on about the wonderful exhibitions of commentary from all corners of the BBC's home territory !!

    So the next lot will be from INDIA a week on Friday --  let us see if we can confuse Them as thoroughly as we confused the Sri Lankans  { well they serpently con fused A B M !!wink  }

Morning Brian (I'm sure I've heard that in commentary wink)

Have now settled in at the new place and even before we arrived, the engineer was booked for installation of Sky box laughing However, my blood pressure rose a few notches when said engineer arrived, announcing "We're not allowed in t'house cos of Covid, so no drillin 'oles in t'wall. Wire as t'come thru wind-er and we'll return when Covid's gone ta fix it!"(I'm learning the Yorkshire dialect)

As it turned out my missus' suspicions were unfounded when said wire came through window which closed tightly around it, thus allaying her fears of me (and more importantly, her) watching crikkit in sub-zero temperatures!

A fascinating series indeed, especially the fourth day, yesterday and a not unexpected win. I did think 'Lankans were a tad unlucky having got Sibley 'out' 3 times, only for the umpire's call to be incorrect on each occasion. Fortune favours the brave and Specsavers have still have a sale going on.surprised

Looking forward to a much sterner test in India, as well as something decent to watch when I get 'outta ma pit,' drink an Americano and blink at the box until sun gets up.smile

So Zak Crawley has fallen foul (excuse the pun) of the highly polished marble floor outside the pavillion and will miss the first two Tests. Is this  a pre-match tactic of the opposition? laughingwink

Marble outside the dressing room indeed! It's the ball which needs polishing mate, not the floor! Whatever happened to good old timber boards which your spikes used to scuff and stick to?

    Anyway, roll on 4am tomorrow.

Channel 4  as well as Talksport, possibly / probably with that blithering  one second time lag, so it'll seem like I am there but getting an echo yell

Not seen the area where ZC  fell  so can't be over critical of the youngster, but from JR's post it seems as if he was wearing spiked boots/shoes on a marble surface surprisedyell  none too bright I should think frown

    Not a happy bunny!

First, there's a wretched great big advertising blob in the middle of my screen 😡

Secondly, Rory Burns needs his ears boxing! He was batting beautifully, only to throw his wicket away with a one day shot - the reverse sweep!! This is TEST MATCH cricket Mr Burns!! (Aptly, he was caught by Mr Pants 😂)

    So, 67-2 at lunch.

BUT 263 -- 3  holds great hopes for that poor Mr Root to boost his, very average, average up to where we and he would like it to be ( i.e.  some where about 500 per wicket would do nicely for now innocent )

So have a nice fresh carrot or three and  cheer up JR, Be a happier Bunny 'tis only day one  smile

Eating carrots will only improve my vision (apparently) thus making that 'blob' even bigger!

Really impressive performance by Messers Root & Sibley. The latter batted superbly and was unfortunate to be dismissed with 3 balls of play left.

I read that Mr Root is hoping for 600/700 runs - I think he means the team - so looking forward to another day tomorrow.

4 am Crikkit till 12.30, followed by quick lunch and then 2 Six Nations matches. Bliss 😀

Fascinating stuff, 355-3 at lunch. Two or three dropped catches, a missed run out, a couple of good decisions by the umpires and some super batting. A great morning session but how did Stokes survive before getting off the mark?!

Brian, get out your pit and tune in 😁

Wickets falling everywhere, one day crikkit (that's how it's pronounced in this part of the world) shots on day four in an effort to set the Indians an improbable target. Who said Test match crikkit was boring? When will the declaration come? Can Jimmy rip through the top order?

Too many questions. Enthralling stuff as I look through window at artic blizzards outside 😀

Baffled why England batted on without trying to score quickly. After being eventually bowled out i hope they have left enough time to get the 10 wickets needed for victory.

Sir Alistair Cook was quizzed as to why England had not declared when 'us' supporters would have done so. His reply made absolute sense and the use of technology now seeming to play a major role also. Whatever the stats say, the players need to deliver and what a performance they're turning in today, particularly the Burnley Express!

    Wonderful stuff 126-6
