I realised that, Euro, and was trying to clarify JV's (seeming) misunderstanding of your question.
As for the answer, you know that we won't be in the loop 😂😂

Given that whatever tier is applied, in the absence of a complete and effective lockdown we are reliant on "Track and Trace", the shortcomings of which, were highlighted by Corners in the closed thread. Perhaps instead of "World beating" we should read "Global flagellation".

No one else, to the best of my knowledge, has the missing text problem. It's quite funny how it can leave you looking a wazzock😉

Until there is a second shorter? national lockdown (already planned for some weeks ago it seems) then what ever is happening across all affected countries (Russia really bad now, even with their "vacine?) the virus will not be contained,
Less stringent "trials?"are ,as in other countries being tried first,

It’s very difficult and I know numbers are increasing but I live in Wigan Borough which is currently in the middle tier (but rumoured to change to highest soon) and I personally know only one person who has tested positive in this second wave. She caught it from her grandson and partner when they took her out for her 75th birthday meal 3 weeks ago. Luckily her symptoms were mild and she was back to normal in a couple of weeks.
Looking at the latest figures for Wigan the rate is currently around 292 per 100k compared to the national rate for England at 127. Confirmed positives for last week were 962 out of a population of around 330,000.
That means 234,000 didn’t test positive (I know there are others who don’t test or are asymptomatic but it does give you a flavour).
I suppose what I’m trying to say without down playing the situation is that even in the areas that look overwhelmed by the virus that isn’t the case and people have to get on with their lives, following the rules, taking precautions and staying safe as best they can.

IMO it's all bloody silly. Even if you are in a very high risk area you can 'legally' go on holiday mix with up to 6 people, who could have also come from the same area, do most of the things that you can't do at home, and spread it to low risk areas. I know the economy needs saving but this in out system seems to be making it even harder for the hospitality businesses, do they order supplies, which may have to be thrown away as out of date if they have to close, or don't they. I'm with the scientists, lock down completely gor three weeks. Oh yes, and why on earth were uni students allowed back. Most of their lectures are online and they are being restricted from socialising too much now, so they may as well have studied from home. OK rant over, I feel a bit better now.

Well...The NHS app on my iPhone has just alerted me to the new tier for our area. Basically says, your postcode includes areas in Medium (tier 1) and High alert (tier 2). ...Checking what I can and cannot do...I am please to report, based on the worse scenario of tier 2, I can travel to venues etc that are open.
Further checking the post code for Cayton Village site, where we are going in a couple of weeks (to check out the refurbs as it was favourite site before the club purchased it)..the app tells me the site is in Tier 1.
So unless the review in two weeks time we are good to go..

JVB, if you read the details in the link I gave you'd be aware of the travel restrictions. When parts of Leics were locked down, people from certain post codes were refused entry onto holiday sites.
I'd also be grateful if you could phrase your questions in a more polite way.

Not how I read it on the link you give AD.

People should try to avoid travelling outside their local area, or entering another area rated Very High other than for work, education, accessing youth services, or to meet caring responsibilities.
People should avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK if they are resident in the Liverpool City Region and avoid staying overnight in the Liverpool City Region if they are resident elsewhere.unquote.

Apart from GD who is now in Isolation at her Uni , we do not know of anyone we know having anything
But then the Chiropodist who treats OH says that two of her other elderly patiants died of it last time round and one now has tested positive, (i did not make any comments)

Your last paragraph is where the problem lies ....there are far too many people who are not following the rules.
We do not know anyone with covid at present, but we had one elderly friend who died from it back in March, and a local care home recorded 10 deaths.

Everything is contradictory......we are supposed to be self isolating as my son in law tested positive on the 4th Oct, when NHS track and trace contacted me on the 5th to advise that we should self isolate, i asked the specific question "can i exercise fido" was told yes provided you dont enter public places such as pubs or travel on public transport, and ensure 2m seperation. I did all of these and more and exercised fido. OH defrosted freeezer on 5th Oct and decided we had enough food for a month, neighbour brought daily newspaper milk/eggs.
Evidence produced on this forum would suggest that info was incorrect, second track and trace person called to check asked same question given same answer. I called NHS track and trace to speak to senior manager who said i had been given incorrect info and that he would ensure the operatives received additional training.
was contacted by NHS track and trace again yesterday asked same question, as previous, just out of curiosity, and told did not know would get back to me, has not,
We have been self isolating, and thankfully neighbour has been exercising fido but will be free to roam on Saturday.
Daughter now waiting for result of test done on Monday, 3 teenage kids at home all now self isolating great NOT,....thousands can congregate on the streets of Liverpool, hugging and kissing and yet you can not exercise your dog responsibly Yes Covid Madness

"People should try ..." , " People should avoid ...."
There, in a nutshell is the nub of the problem - as long as "people" are told what they should do rather than what the must (or must not) do, some folk will always take advantage of that bit of wriggle room. And, of course, our lords and masters will therefore have the ability to cast blame elsewhere.

There is always a substantial minority that will for any number of reason try to find a way around any law, instruction, guidance or advice. Much of it is down to being selfish, self centered, and ignorant. This group will always spoil things for others.

As long as the students stay corralled and just spread it amongst themselves let them get on with it. They seem to be the super spreaders of CV19 so in some ways it may help if they all develop local herd immunity. I suspect that that is what our government is hoping.
