    So JK was not correct it seems with his blanket 1300 hr arrivals

    It was not it seems  "updated earlier"surprised so "hot news!!wink

    The Text messages evidently were sent out for the w/end of the 13th july 

    Also it was stated that the situation is still ever changing ,so it may be we all keep an eye on the UK sites website?

    It's still wrong and confusing though as there are still stated 12.00m arrival times. So no blanket 1.00pm times.

    A quick look at 'Baltic Wharf' and the site itself still says earliest arrival 12.00pm

    Call me old fashioned then JVB but if I have a booking with any company I expect them to notify me directly should they wish to change their terms and conditions. That is what normally happens is it not? I don't keep looking at commercial sites to see if they have amended terms and conditions, would you? 

    This was in response to the reply from JVB which I presume he removed

    I don't understand that last point - purely put of interest,   why would you not give the club your mobile phone number? If you tour for several weeks to a series of sites as you do, wouldn't that be the easiest way for them to contact you if unexpected circumstances arose?  undecided

    So if a site you were booked into while on tour ,had a major issue ,  you would just turn up at the locked gates, where you could been made aware by a voice message on you answer phone ,

    Correct. However as my phone lives permanently in my RHS front trouser pocket and difficult to access when driving that is where it would remain until we arrived at site.  

    An e-mail advising of a cancelled booking would be useful but that would only reach me up until 9am on the day of departure.

    👋👋 Perfectly possible. Some of us even use our smart phones while on the road. It works even better if you leave a contact number for sites to call you back if you have to leave a message.😂

    ET is just practising inexorability. It’s very vogue at the moment, particularly in US. 👍

    They have my mobile number but as we don't tend to answer unknown numbers they would have to leave a message. As my first thought would be that it was another cold or scam call, if we were on route we would probably be at the site before I got round to checking for a voice mail.

    My co driver would do that, but would have answered the phone and listened before  it went into answer phone wink

    e-mail is fine JVB. Usually when caravanning we are together when in the car. I don't use the phone whilst driving. Friends and family know that if I don't answer I am probably driving as it is unusual that the phone is off my person unless showering or in bed. They simply phone OH

    Do none of you have your phones linked hands free to your vehicles? It’s very useful. You can even do it with a cheap little in ear device......

    We did a tour of Devon and Cornwall, August couple of years ago. We simply rolled into sites. Only one was full, we went elsewhere. Last year we did Dales, including two Club Sites. Again we just rolled in, no problems. Wardens came to see if we wanted weekend, as that was filling up, we declined.

    Hands free is no less dangerous but "legal"undecided

    Ps my phone is Hands free in the car but will  just listen if an incoming 

    pps pesent OHs phone number only  is on file at the clubwink

    So if, heaven forbid, a site you were planning to visit (while away from home on tour) had to be locked down because of an occurrence of the virus, how would the club let you know?  undecided

    No hands free. It is not something that I would choose to use when I was working either. I find holding conversations when driving a distraction that I can do without.

    For the 10 seconds it takes to say “I’m driving”, it’s rather useful. Unless of course your passenger chooses to take the call.

    Do as we have then just give OHs number to the clubwink,Oh has never had any other calls from the club except from a site to advise,  like she had to sdvise of lock down cancelations from some sites surprised

    If a site was to cancel my booking then an e-mail would suffice. I am not at all concerned about the virus whilst on tour as we are not touring in the present or near future I suspect. If the site wished to contact me whilst driving then the chance is that they might provide an extra 90 mins warning by doing so but at the end of the day I am following a general route and my first choice would be to contact the next site (usually 70 to 100 miles further on) and ask if they had room.
