I think I'm "quite a lot" TWlaughing. Still, talking politics is a no no on this forum are you happy to break the guidelines?

I read all threads from the start, some are very informative even this one until it has descended into the usualyell

Roll on a new Sunday departures thread!

Ooh, get you. Quite a lot of you, eh?🤣🤣

A slightly more lenient line is being taken at present as David has explained but I do my best not to break Guidelines, JK, and never, ever, discuss party politics.

I don’t think of this discussion of the moment as political. It’s more about morality and fairness. It matters not a jot to me what colour someone’s politics are if they are misusing a position of power.🤔

Actually we're being controlled by DC if you remember this play and look at the video on this LINK, he's not a politician, not elected but obviously likes to control our every day thoughts and actions. apparently  The video is very revealing about his personality. frown

By the way this is under the Entertainment section of the BBC, this recent "drama" has indeed been entertaining but probably for the wrong reasons.

The people who have genuinely suffered during the lockdown are the heroes, not DC.

Thought this thread might, just might give some relevant information regarding Motorhoming or Caravaning after the lockdown. obviously descended into Political discussion about Dominic Cummins Wild Camping in Durham and emptying his cassette in the high street.

Do the press still get involved in that phone hacking, like they used to when " holier than thou" Piers Morgan was an editor all those years ago. If so, I'm sure they'll have some good evidence up their sleeve, or have they not been able to work out how to bypass the security yet.

Obfuscation, prevarication, dissembling, evasion. These are the stock-in-trade of politicians of any hue. What always surprises me is how quickly they become adept having entered the political arena. The primary damage of this incident will be the disinclination of the general public to follow any guidelines in the future.

    agreed, JK...

whilst there might be a degree of leniency with the CT 'rules', this thread (and one or two others) has been a Godsend to the 'righteous', berating the world and his wife over every reported 'misdemeanour' and every politician (or advisor) for 'getting us where we are'....ie, everyone else except the posterundecided

i wrongly thought this was the 'touring changes after lockdown' discussion, and despite hints to 'move the discussion on', some seem to want to wallow endlessly in the story of the day....or the day before..

isnt there some 'chat area' (well away from touring discussions) that the half a dozen like minded folk can mutually agree that everyone else is wrong in the handling of the Pandemic, spend some 'quality time' together putting the world to rights, and let others look forward to how we might go about our hobby once we come out of the other side?

its pretty depressing stuff here, perhaps one of the hidden side effects of our situation....?undecided

Surely the first sentence of the first post of the thread was a little political, so it should have been obvious the way it was going to go.

After the lockdown ends, haircut comes first followed by quaffing Adnams in an isolated beer garden I know.  After that we will see to all the routine stuff, vehicles serviced/MOT’d etc.

I’m afraid it’s all relevant. Our Government has to devise a route to get the country back out and functioning as safely as it can, and as promptly as it can. We all want that. That’s why it’s so important to do the right thing, get rid of any distractions, one way or another and focus entirely on the right policies.

However, brushing someone’s poor behaviour aside, ignoring it, does not send out a strong message. It’s like seeing that person everyone hates on a Club Site, the dog walker who doesn’t pick up, considers himself above such trivia, that’s something that others do. Usually does it sneakily as well, hoping not to get caught. ☹️

This is all about doing the right thing, as you say TDA, and I fear this huge distraction is going to lead people to ignore the rules as they will see an apparent rule breaker - the not picking up dog owner - getting away with it. That is not conducive to getting the country safely back to normal as soon as possible.

This thread has nothing at all to do with politics as such, despite one or two trying to take it that way, but the whole situation being Govt lead is inevitably one within the political field.

I can't for the life of me see why some feel the need to pontificate about what's said here. The answer for them is obvious. It's rather like that other club enigma of those who profess to hate the club and all it stands for yet continue to pay their membership fees.🤷‍♂️

I did read an interesting little article the other day about getting campsites back open and functioning safely. Can’t for the life of me find it again though. It had snippets from both Clubs and other Camping organisations. Not a great deal of depth, more on the lines of good to get outdoors, staycation blurb, using own facilities. All been said previously. NT updates are good. They mention working with local communities to ensure that re openings minimise impact for local places and residents.
