. Brian's not too sure how to respond there TDA !! 79 in a few months time, 30+years type 2 Diabetes, 5ft 11 and 15 stone, coping OK at present including all my own shopping etc etc but likely to blow a gasket if I don't get a session up at Altnahara or down in Cornwall before the sites all close for Winter
!! Took the weekend mags up to aged ( 90 year old ) sisters and gave the Dukky a 12 mile blast to help the battery survive. Got back home just as the Waste collection team were busy so waited calmly till I could park. Tucked away as many of neighbours grey recyclable bins as I could, then had 10 mins sitting on a low wall chatting to Lady neighbour who lost her OH on Sunday evening. Was I wrong ? Possibly outside some folks interpretations but not to my mind. So I'll put me pith helmet on and duck below the sky-line for a day or six,

I kinda like the guy muscles, he’s like his boss-not totally grey/vanilla👍🏻. My suggestion to you is. . .Put the gun down & slowly walk away🤣🤣

It appears that we are very fortunate here at home. We've had the usual service, recyclable waste every 2 weeks and general waste every week, since lockdown started. Garden waste has been collected every other week for the last 5 weeks, and our recycling centre opened 2 weeks ago. I went down last Thursday with boxes of garden waste and queued for about 35 mins. No limit on number in vehicle, no trailers, but no assistance from waste guys. Any sort of stuff was being accepted.

Not made any difference to us, apart from not being away in our caravan. Gone walking as and when we wanted, social distancing of course, only had to queue for shopping once in the last ten weeks. Done more in the garden than ever before,and enjoyed the glorious weather.

) then you will no doubt be fine. Thats what its all about, being sensible. And keep washing those hands1 -
We are the same, we have been mixing some shopping with some deliveries, certainly going out and about very little compared to normal.
Looking forward to being able to visit our children and grandchildren hopefully this coming weekend. And to maybe getting away in the caravan in September.

Very similar to what we will be having here come Thursday.
Looking at our council website they say we are not allowed to queue on the road outside, cars will be moved on and have to come back later. which means at our site only 4 cars can get in before they are on the road. No trailers, no vans, no recycle, no garden waste. Only 1 person per car, only 6 black bags of general waste per car, no return until the next day.
They say that garden waste will be allowed in phase 2. What they don't clarify is that 'their' phase 2 or Nicola's phase 2
Some of the surrounding council areas are opening fully, so our council which is bigger is taking a lot of flack on their website.

The grandtwins are lined up to return to school next Tuesday. Daughter outlined the safeguarding that will be in place and they seem to be comprehensive. Maximum class size will be 15 pupils. Daughter and hubby will decide over the coming days whether returning to school is right for them

Our council reopened their tips last week. I had accumulated 16 bags of garden rubbish and waited until the Wednesday before I went down.
The tip is at the end of a road of about 500 yards and that time I queued from about halfway along. I'm not sure how long I queued but it was all very well organised and they were allowing three cars in at a time with one person only per car. You also had to be able to manage by yourself ,they weren't allowed to help, and there were people on the road asking if you could manage and asking what you were taking in.
They had arranged three spacious bays each with a skip for garden waste and one for general waste. Tipping took no time at all, I managed to get rid of 10 bags and took the others on Friday when I queued for a bit longer.
When the road gets full of queuing cars they turn others away, the road is also used by several other businesses including a large export packing company with some big artics arriving.

ours has the same sort of process to papgeno. i went last week and it was well organised and there were only half a dozen cars queuing, i guess the thought of long queues put many off.
i have more to deliver soon, if as easy that will be good...
ive drive by a few times and the queues look surprisingly short...

We can use our Council Waste Depots but we have to book a slot by phone and show the confirmation on arrival. Not sure what questions asked but suspect post code to stop people from neighbouring authorities trying to use the dumps when theirs are not open? Fortunately they restarted green waste collections a few weeks ago so no real need for a trip to the dump. If we have a lot of green waste we usually ask a neighbour to make use any of their spare capacity in their green bin.

We've been fortunate in that our waste collections have carried on as normal the whole time. Garden waste is charged for £45 if I remember correctly but the renewal fee in March has been waived until June. Recycling centres have opened apart from the one local to us but from what I can gather the queues and waiting times have been horrendous. So the "stuff" in the garage will just have to wait a while (unless I can surreptitiously slip it in amongst the removal guy's tables of "free stuff" just along the road!

We drove past our Recycling Centre at 5:30 this evening and there was still a queue of about 15 cars waiting to go in, so I guess it's been like that for most of the day. On our return about 90 mins later the site was all closed up, so I suppose that they must have stopped any more from queuing and just clear those that were there.

We can't do that here David (use neighbours bin) as we have to pay for a certificate to go on the bin. No certificate no empty bin. We stopped paying for a collection as it was just 1 bin every 2 weeks, no where near enough for a garden our size, so OH still has to take it away in the trailer to the dump. We've been shredding our garden waste during lockdown, some of it has gone around the bushes the rest is in bins/bags all lined up along the hedge now 14 in total. Good job we have a big garden a we are having to wait until end of June/July before we can take garden waste to the dump.

We have a registration system in place at our tip. You register on line giving your vehicle reg number and there's a number recognition thingy as you drive in. You can also sign up for reminders as to which bin is due for emptying each week, very useful if your memory is as good as mine.🤔

Our local council are using an odds and evens car registration entry on specified days. We haven't been yet as normally there is always a queue so will wait till everyone has caught up. We're also limited with what we can take at present.

Both our cars are registered but both are even.☹️ Although I believe ours are just operating a queuing system with no vans or trailers. Given that it is technically half term and the forest was much busier on our walk yesterday, I think we will leave it a week or so.

Garden refuse bags is a regular on the weekly shop. I estimate at least 36 full bags so far. I think that we pay £35 for garden waste collection.

Where we are we have to apply for certificates to use the council waste sites with your vehicle number on it and the address its registered to if its pulling a trailer over six ft in length or a pick up, cars without a trailer don't require one, you are only allowed six within six months, its pain trying to get them, worse than trying to prove your innocent in a kangaroo court.
