When the lockdown ends

If my eldest daughter had not moved a couple of years ago I would be happy for her to sit in the back garden and converse despite the fact that she is vulnerable due to heart problems. The covered area of our patio is 24 feet long and plenty of room to maintain distance.

Last word from me on the Cummings situation - possibly the worst aspect is that it was an awful lapse in judgement and is going to undermine the government's message for some time to come.
Question - since this occurred after the lockdown was introduced and before the recent easing - when is an "instruction" not an instruction?
Enjoy tomorrow's sunshine everyone - anything goes now apparently!

simple really, it was an instruction and as i understand it not a law, so no criminal offence committed, but we are both right , he was a naughty boy, it is just that my punishment is not so severe as yours

everybody left when it was time for the loo
There would have been no need to do that as all doors would have been open, no need to close the toilet door with everybody outside and daughter always washes hands before touching her face after going to the loo .
I also visited my neighbours garden yesterday to wring the neck of a young starling that had been lying on its back for 30 mins after hitting a window and when assisted to stand just fell again.

even better if i had thought about it, the caravan is on a hard standing at the side of the bungalow so could have used the onboard toilet, which is primed as we should have been in Spain just now, thanks for info, made me think it out a bit more also which reminds me, once all this lock down etc has ended we are off to Spain, caravan sat ready and waiting .
do hope you get your Christmas break away , Southport i think, born and bred in Blackburn so used to cycle to Southport for the day and scrump apples on the way home, happy days

"He will have my Email when he gets home surprised,he lives not far from us"
in case you hadnt realised, it pretty much takes the same time for an email to travel to anywhere in the world...even, for example, from London to Durham....having 'not far from us' wont have made a lot of difference
I agree witn Rufs, the bloke has been a tw*t but folk survive for far worse than driving to their relatives...give him a good b*llocking and move on..
...and the '250 miles' is totally irrelevent....theyd have gone 500 or 5 if that was where their destination was...

OH was born in Southport and hopefully we will get there this December for our usual 15 nights chill out. We are not anticipating getting away until September now. We have missed our first months break and our 7 weeks in Scotland we are expecting to write off.
I had hired a 4 bed housh near Churchtown in Southport for a week from 3rd April to take away youngest daughter and the two grandkids but that obviously was out.

One person's opinionated self righteousness is another's meaningful discussion.
There’s no need to read them if they’re not to your liking, Goldie.

perhaps some of Uncle Tom's relatives post on CT? everyone seems to know 'everything' about this situation...
im afraid youve backed the wrong pony on here, Rufs...
FWIW, I think theres little to be gained by baying for blood, the bloke is a berk for what he's done....but im not a great hung, drawn and quartered chap...a private knee in the nuts from Boris, after publicly backing him should remind him of his 'error'...
have a good one.

we'll have to see, Goldie...

Hi BB, leaving aside the fact you are not greatly hung, I for one have made no comment about what I think should be the consequences of his actions just that, on the basis of what he has written, not someone else, his actions appear indefensible.
It does make me smile to see all the apparent justification, including his ‘not illegal’ comment, as often this will make things worse in the long run.
Its amazing what people can forgive, or at least forget, when someone says sorry.

That’s because they are to your liking. 👍🏻

Lol, i should be greatly hanged for that one
i was chatting to a pal while playing golf today and he said his son (a decorator) didnt hang wallpaper these days..
i asked him if they only gave a life sentence but it went over his head
i agree, a bit of contrition can help smooth some things over....it might have helped...

you misunderstand me....i meant 'for the purposes of the CT discussion'
i actually agree, the kicking will be in private and we will move on.
