Corona Virus Concerns

I have been doing some checking up on some of the Memberships we have with various organisations, see what they have in place in terms of renewals, etc...
Happy just to leave RSPB to roll over, NT have offered 3months extension/discount on renewal, so gone with that. CADW have a very good outline of their plans, best I have seen: https://cadw.gov.wales/cadw-membership-and-coronavirus-faqs
HHA have nothing on their website, or at least nothing I can find. We renew end of June, so this one might be put off until later in year(🤞) and we will rejoin.
Our Club Membership will just roll over, it’s less than £1 a week, and I can get that back easily on discounts at various places, so no cost there really.
Haven't checked EH, as we use CADW.

Due to the fact that we were to have an early "main" holiday from mid March until the end of this month abroad I didn't bother renewing NT, HHA or CADW, fully intending to rejoin next week. Will now leave those in abeyance until things get somewhere near normal.
RSPB is on a rollover every year, same with CAMC.
Went out for an early walk this morning before continuing with indoor painting. Yesterday I noticed far more cars and foot traffic than on previous walks yet today, normally a busy day for local markets etc., we had just 1 walker, 1 cyclist and 3 cars in total, one of which was a delivery van and another a Post Office van. Strange.

Chased up my missing online orders this morning and had a rapid response from one of them. Turns out it was coming from China and because of reduced flights it is stuck in an airport waiting. It was ordered on 17th March so don't order anything which you suspect might need a flight, forget it.

With the value we get from being a member of HHA I'm not concerned if they are unable to offer any extension to the yearly membership.

4 weeks in lockdown now and numbers of those passing away doesn't seem to be dropping that much. Surely the virus should be 'passing through' a little by now. What is going wrong. Yes I know if nothing had been done it would be much more horrendous but still bad. Just had an email to say that in my Aunts Care Home one resident has passed away and a few more tested positive. All were fine last week. Residents now confined to their rooms for 14 days. Auntie, 98, stone deaf, won't watch tv. Won't read. Will be difficult for residents and staff, with some residents being rather demanding at the best of times. IMO We should have acted sooner, not allowing Cheltenham and football matches to go ahead. Should be stricter with lockdown and should support our police forces to clamp down more.

Ours renews in June, and I admit I being mercenary with this one. Some of the properties have such limited opening that by the time we might get back on the road, there will be no chance of visiting. But we shall rejoin, we have usually covered our membership each year.

No didn't see that. We ordered through Dobbies, along with several other things that came from them. The only communication we have had is through Dobbies, although the seeds are comming direct from T&M, so they have our contact details. Very poor customer service, even allowing for the crisis. Fortunately the value wasn't that great. If they ever arrive they will probably be to late for this year. We will give then to our son for next year, as we hope to be touring as normal by then.😀
We did manage to get a limited range of seeds from Sutton Seeds, on there fast track system. They came in a week.👍

With the press hysteria abut ending lockdown how realistic is it when - 10 lads from London in 2 cars stopped by police having driven 300 miles from a hot spot to " walk up Snowdon", Police turning people away in the Lakes coming from as far as Coventry. Its tougher regulation, heavy fines we need short term not relaxation. All this this weekend. Whilst we law abiding country folk are doing or bit some stupid others just flaunt the guidelines.

Same here, quite a lot of things out of stock but I was pleased find some things weren't. Thanks DEBSC from me too.
As far as people travelling my daughter and partner will be travelling to N Cumbria today for a family funeral, I hope they don't get too upset if stopped and questioned. The majority of people have obeyed the lockdown so the incidences of those not doing it stand out.

It wasn’t a political speech but was about the Covid 19 situation👍🏻.
BoJo said what many on here have uttered, that we need patience and mustn’t be too hasty and undo the good work done so far. Surely only the foolhardy will think otherwise.

Fair enough, but do you not think town/city folk also see evidence of idiotic behaviour putting them at unecessary risk? This is a national crisis, nothing to do with discriminating between different sets of people! I wish you'd stop these "us versus them" posts.

Mrs M was talking to one of our neighbours (from 2m away, obviously) who works in administration at one of our local comprehensives. Apparently schools (in this area anyway) have been given a none too subtle hint that they will be reopened for year 10 and 12 students at the start of term 6 - June 1st.

Wouldn't be so easy but you could always use tape, or make matching bias binding 😉 to tie them on 😀.
Must check my supply! I know at least 3 places, 2 within walking distance that will have a stock, but sadly not allowed to open. Just checked and 2 have facilities for ordering Cheap shop or Franklins dont buy it all before I check my supplies 🤣. And dont get carried away on the cheap shop website, their shop is AMAZING. Knitting swings, cards, doll house making etc etc etc
