Weather not good today so OH feeling a bit lost, he likes to be outside but its to cold and wet to do anything out there.

I'm more used to occupying my time, after many years (45 in fact) of being married to a member of the armed forces, I've got used to being on my own, learning how to keep busy, doing most jobs myself and basically getting on with life. I don't get bored, I do get fed up of some tasks so have learnt to have a number on the go at any one time.

In some ways I am looking forward to getting stuck into the garden, for the last 9 years since we retired the garden has been tidied between trips away but never really been re-done. I've got all sorts of plans if I can persuade OH to help. All I need now is some warm weather.

careful what you wish for, report this morning of world shortage of condoms, factory in Malaysia that is worlds biggest supplier in lock down, and you can forget that stiff drink, doctors say we should not be drinking alchol as it is a depressant and we will soon become depressed enough from this lock down laughing

We would have been away during the past week, our first break since October, the sun would have been shining, it would have been great.

But we've nearly done week one of the stay at home advice and we have a long way to go. It doesn't feel like a long time yet, makes me realise what families went through for much longer in war time with much less available.

The van will sit on the driveway, redundant at the moment but that's the least of any concerns for us just now.

Week one of lockdown here and one week in Lanzarote frown much prefer the later as it was much warmer and lots of folk around we could converse with (at a safe distance) however long term being at home will be better once it warms up a bit. With lots to be getting on with in the house and garden I for one will not be bored smile

Caravan outside was all stripped out for winter after our last trip in November. So once its warmer we can give it a good wash and polish and get the inside all cleaned and half packed for when the restrictions are lifted. With 2 cars to also give a proper clean and polish OH shouldn't be getting bored either but just now its hard work keeping him going.

Condoms is an anagram of mod cons undecided

And for those who purchase them, if the Sales Assistant says,'That'll be £3.50 with tax,' feel free to retort 'Here's £3, I'll tie them on with string...'

I imagine the maternity wards will be busy by Christmas. What's the guessing someone will christen their new daughter Corona.

As for my caravan, fortunately it is kept at home so I will be jacking it up and turning the wheels, having first marked the tyre so I know which part was at the bottom.

I have so many things on my mind to do in the next 3 months, I spend most of my day thinking of reasons to not do them, by which time it's too late to start. frown

I thought I was going to get so much done but it is partly taken up with queuing for basics and medication. The other thing is that tasks expand to fill the time available to complete them so I'm not half as productive as I thought I was going to be.

We had a bit of a sort out of where we store drinks bottles. Found some alcoholic treasures, and also our long, lost, “jobs to do” jar. Little slips of paper, we would pull one out and fettle it periodically. There weren’t in fact too many slips of paper in there, and we had completed some that were in there. But we put one or two back.......😱😂

Sun is shining here, cold wind though. The greenhouse is calling...........

Never put off till tomorrow that which you can do today. Because, if you liked doing it today, you can have another go tomorrow ... [and it's even better with 3 weeks notice of doing it today ... It's an age thing ...]tongue-out

This looks like being a very long time of staying at home so we are trying to spread jobs out when possible.  I have already retreated the fence and sheds, so today I will start cleaning the block paving but do a little each day.  We have both been retired for many years and already live life at a slower pace, so for some it may be easier than people who live more active lives. What ever you all do, stay at home and stay safe.

You surprise me with this comment CY, i dont live a million miles from you but i am not experiencing any difficulty, in fact local stores seem very quiet, difficulty is that some are quite small so very difficult to maintain the recommended 2 mtrs distance.

Begiinning to get a little bit stir crazy now after over a week on not putting a foot outside my premises. Its proving very difficult to get supplies especially the staples.

Been doing the jobs at a slow pace more to drag them out rather than anything else, knocking off one a day even though some can be done quite quickly. Planted some runner beans today to bring on in the conservatory initially. Also taking time to improve my knowledge of some software and how to use all the functionality of our smart TV. Used Zoom for the first time to visit a virtual pub and have ordered an upgrade to my photo editting software. The latter will keep me busy I am sure.

Today time has just flown by! wink

Now have a tidier  garden than  ever in last 30 years with no touring and now little time out at all.

Finished decorating our bedroom which I have had paint to do for over 4 years and now halfway through decorating lounge which we decided to obtain paint for over two weeks ago when we cancelled Wirral  CP in anticipation of all sites being closed by last weekend.

Usually we would have had about ten weeks away between now and August but for some reason we did not book anything else until September this year. Probably would have been different if it had still been old booking system.

Daughter who we have not been able to see for two weeks  just rang from Tesco to ask if we wanted anything as it was very quiet and almost fully stocked with some of today's date ready meals reduced to 13 pence to get rid of them. Did not need anything as by end of last week a little normality seemed to have returned in the shops here in our part of the NW.

She will be back working in the NHS tomorrow after a number of years in the private sector. Her private hospital has cancelled all operations, arranged to transfer their ventilators to the local NHS and has spent the last week retraining all its staff to be available for front line NHS duties from tomorrow.

Try to stay safe all of you.

We picked up a last minute deal on a repositioning cruise in April 2018 from Yokohama to Seattle and this involved something like 16 hours of time changes during the voyage.

Yep, there were quite a few Americans complaining that they had been charged for 'extra days' at sea and wanting refunds ... sealed.

'Don't argue with a stupid person, because you will lose. The stupid person has had more chance to develop their expertise.' springs to mind.
