FYI. Extract. [Bold emphasis mine]

".... IF you are uninjured, lost, benighted, you will asked to consider waiting until morning, and/or better visibility to extricate yourself.
"IF you are “walking wounded” you will be asked to consider extricating yourself from the mountain.
"IF you are seriously injured, and/or can not physically get yourself off the hill, we will attend. ........
"Helicopter support will only be requested if a time critical injury is sustained ie head injury, femur, and pelvis injuries etc.
"This is contradictory to everything we believe in, but I must look after team members in order for them to help casualties who really need it. ........
"I would ask all visitors to the mountains to think very carefully about their actions, and to observe government guidelines on where to exercise in the outdoors, i.e. IN YOUR LOCAL AREA!
"The NHS facilities in the Highlands may not have capacity to admit you if they are otherwise occupied. ..........."

Thank you for that find DaveJ, whilst I appreciate the sentiment and feelings, it is disappointing that an MR leader is making these veiled threats
I understand how frustrated he might be, but I know for sure there are others MRTs that would never post anything like this
Can you imagine if someone called in lost and not injured, told to sit it out until the morning then succumbed to hypothermia. Andy from Glencoe would not get over it very easily.

The advice at the present time (for the vast majority of folk) is that you can go for walks or cycle from home David, no one is saying drive to the lakes but if you live there in Keswick or Braithwaite then that is different, providing you walk alone and/or 2 meters from others.

It seems you know more than the Keswick MRT tea then

Heard it at lunchtime on the BBC Scottish news, think it was Glencoe but can't be sure as I was in the kitchen, tv in the lounge.
OH has just looked on the internet and its there on the BBC news/Scotland it is the highlands and islands tab. Would appear Glencoe, Lochaber, Skye etc.

Right, slightly different slant from TG, you will be asked to consider not Those lost on the mountains will be told as she stated.
Actually those questions are what I expect to be asked even in normal times
But once again in your local area.

Same here, we had a cottage booked for over Easter with a few good walks planned, all a dream now.

4790 new cases and 602 new deaths in Italy today
a 14% and 8% reduction respectively over yesterday....so, a two day reduction....
stiff measures biting we hope....

Llanberis Mountain rescue had to go to the aid of four blokes on Saturday who had driven up from Surrey to walk. Just unbelievable. Dont know the exact milage but would surely not be considered an "essential j ourney">It seems its not a minority that are idiots but plenty.

I saw the photo of the usual queue up to the Snowdon summit last night. The problem is, in circumstances such as we have now common sense often takes a back seat and the wider implications of heading for rural areas to ‘get away from it all’ are not considered.
I would imagine the thought of spreading the virus and potentially putting extra pressure on rural NHS never crossed the minds of many city dwellers, until it was spelt out ever so clearly.Such effects didn’t cross the minds of management of this Club or the other big one either, otherwise they wouldn’t have tried to encourage site use prior to yesterday.
I genuinely think for many, it’s been one hell of a learning curve. That said, anyone continuing in the same way and trying to escape from urban life to the country or beach after today’s news coverage, really out to be hung out to dry.

I fully agree, we live in Spain and for the last 3 months we have been touring Europe, finally driving from Sky in Scotland last week, we have relied on CL and club sites to stay.
Thismorning we were turfed off our CL in Hopton, no other sites will accept us, i called the club and was promised a call back for advice, but to my disgust no call back.
So currently in Asda car park at a complete loss on what to do, we have a very elderly mother who we dont want to put at risk.
I feel the club has completely let us down at a time when we really needed it.
The CL owner wanted to let us stay, but his hands are tied, we have a spanish motorhome and registration. Now we are completely at risk.

But as someone wider than me once posted:
Its not pedantic to correct misinformation and there is no need to be unpleasant when you are found doing it
TG it is not nit picking to point out the vast difference between what you posted as being actually said, you wrote:
Those lost on the mountains will be told to wait where they are until the next day
and what the reality really was:
IF you are uninjured, lost, benighted, you will asked to consider waiting until morning, and/or better visibility to extricate yourself
A totally different meaning and not nit picking in the slightest I would say or are you say those two statements are the same and have the same meaning?
Please respect CT guidelines regarding posts?
Also I notice other posters pointed out your error yet you only picked on mine?
