Thanks for your good wishes B2,  compared   to what you have been going through, our worries are insignificant.

We are both thinking of you and hope that your OH  continues to make good progress now.

Thinking of you all B2, you must have had an exhausting time, what a shock for everyone, so glad your son could get down to be with you. Hoping you have a better week and OH is getting the star treatment he obviously deserves...and you do too! ⭐

Who'd have thunk it? A couple of sleepless nights away in a tin box being buffeted by high winds is thought of as a great time.laughing No wonder the general public think us LV owning brigade are bonkers.

Glad you enjoyed it Triky and I know exactly how you feel.wink

It looks like it here. Wall to wall sunshine, daffys in full bloom, birds twittering fit to bust, and a strange urge to clean something has come over me.........that won’t last though😂

No prizes for my location 😂😂. Advised yesterday an ICD may assist the problem. OH has agreed, another op so back to Basildon for that might have been yesterday doesn't look like it will be today!

Stroke doctor happy to send him home, OT concerned about a couple of issues and not happy. Despite saying tgat they'd get someone coming to check his vision issues, from 10 days ago seems it may not have been raised 😤😢😤😢. Still no one been to check on whether he'll be safe at home so I reckon that'll be another fight - but nothing can happen until after the op. All this business tires me far far more than the visiting and worry. I'm happy to have him home but we don't have a wet room which has been essential for the last week 😲

I got recognised in the canteen today by trainee OT. The stroke ward celebrity wife 😂

I envy you lucky folks with sun warm and thick grey here.

Went for a short stroll today but as the weather was so lovely we decided to carry on, and on, and on. The Chiffchaffs were (obviously) Chiffchaffing, the first Bluebells were out, Butterflies were flying, we were holding hands and skipping along like teenagers. Actually, cancel that last one as we didn't have a mobile in our hands!

    In short, a smashing day.

    Keep your chin up Bakers.

No sun at all, I had a walk out to see if some bluebells I planted by an oak tree on a small right of way we own had survived the winter. Pleased to see they had, so hope they'll give some enjoyment to passers-by in the future. I have a plan to return some native wild flowers to the area, so far so good.

    Bakers2

I did wonder, when you recounted the recent drama at the hospital, whether that would be the next step. The poor chap is not having it easy! On the Home front whilst he obviously has to be able to cope at home I imagine the progress in his recovery will be accelerated once he gets back to familiar surroundings? Fingers crossed that all goes well.

Same from me as well Bakers. Getting the different medical teams to do joined up thinking can be very hard at times. But it will all come together, and home will be the best place to recover more quickly, easier on loved ones as well.

I have had a lovely day in garden today. Finished a lot of weeding, cut back a big hedge, mown lawns and tidied smaller borders. It’s starting to come together slowly. Lots of lovely plants coming up now as well. Sort of a rest day tomorrow, taking Mum out. Might do our local zoo (Yorkshire Wildlife Park) if it’s warm enough.

Bakers2, thinking of you a lot. You're going through through a very stressful time, but stay strong. Hopefully things will work put in the end.

For us, things are at last settling down a bit now. Dad is settled into his care home, has made some new friends there and is taking part in a lot of the activities (although the organiser told me this morning that he complains about all the others being ladies!) Still have to sort out the matter of costs if it's going to be long term because he hasn't got a house to sell so once his savings disappear we will have to look at whether or not he can stay where he is. Unbelievably, for a town of our size, Wiltshire, apparently only has 1 care home which they will fund fully. Well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Brother is also home after 5 months in hospital, still with very limited mobility, but at least on the way to some sort of normal life!

And just so that the NHS have a full family set, I've got my colonoscopy appointment for tomorrow, to have the polyp they discovered removed - sounds painful but they assure me it's all very straight forward.

So then,  at last, we'll be able to get away for a few days in the van which has been sadly sitting in storeage since it was serviced in January.

Well, spring has sprung! Happy Days! smile

Very  best  wishes  for  the  colonoscopy,  Moulesy  surprised.  The procedure  is  straight  forward  and  the only  problems  I  ever  encountered  could  be  covered  by  one  single  word  --  PICOLAX  embarassed.  And  on  that  subject  I'll  say  no  more !  Hope  the  polyp  is  removed  OK  &  found  to  be  small  and  benign  like  most  of  them.

Moulesy. Best wishes from me too. I also wish you luck with your Dad and his residential care, not the easiest thing to sort out.

I hope  the Bakers2 are having a better week and the latest surgery has gone well.

Mousley best wishes for tomorrow's procedure.

'We' are still in the same side ward on the stroke ward. Move to cardiac ward not happening now they have no monitor beds. OH is on a monitor which almost  'chatters & flashes' continually. We await the move to CTC at Basildon when a bed becomes available so no operation yet. It was indicated miniscule chance last Tuesday if not next couple of days. Yesterday we were told  up to another 4-5days, so who knows?? Visitors, only  the 3rd outside immediate family, from Hampshire today his cousin who had stroke in mid 40s 😲. He's glad to see new faces now but finds it tiring. So we've both caught upon some zzzz. I find this waiting so difficult and the talk of moves confuses OH. Thing is you hang around for hours or days and then it's action stations rather like the flag at he start of F1 😂😂 hardly chance to grab your things!

Watched the air ambulance come in yesterday afternoon and was shocked to discover it was a stabbing victim from the next road to ours 😲😲. Learnt he's out of danger. Made the front pages of the national papers but not our local bbc pages.
