Given the apparent quality of PK admin do you really think that they will notice that you are no longer a CC member and, given their apparent integrity, will they care?

I needed cheering up today, so thought I'd have a go with one of my newly issued cards.  I fill up at Esso regardless, so armed with a new card, and after checking the registration was all in order on the website - checked the pin was still the same as that embossed on the card tongue-out and away I went.  £112 diesel in the tank and handed over the card with a wry smile... no surprise, yet another non-acceptance!  So card number 3 consigned to the shredder!

As a side note, I have requested (via the club, as pk don't acknowledge or reply to any communication), a copy of the data that was used to derive the claimed average savings of 5p / 8p per litre, as based on everything I've experienced myself and read on this site, there is nobody getting that level of saving, and the claimed average means there must be far more getting in excess of those levels.

I'd better not hold my breath though!!

Just checked my last use of the card and discounted price has been taken from my credit card not the debit card originally used.So far still works for me.

Just checked prices at my nearest filling station on the A5 in Shrewsbury (an Esso outlet) and the PK savings today are 6p a litre for regular diesel and 10p for premium diesel. Still not as cheap as Asda if I do a five mile round trip further into town. But as I like to fill up with premium occasionally to give my camper van's engine a clean up - as recommended by Honest John - using the PK card is a money-saving option for me as Asda doesn't offer premium fuel.

My first top up in Shrewsbury last week using the PK card has gone through our bank account OK at the discounted price and no evidence yet of double dipping. The shambolic introduction of this scheme was appalling. Hopefully things are now working for those of us who never got one of the original cards and simply have one of the latest batch. But it's early days yet and it will take time to build confidence among club members.

Filled up my motorcycle last weekend with premium 97 .Saved 11p a litre , just had e mail to confirm price on this new card. Used the old card twice on the car and this worked. However card not used for standard petrol no saving.

The PIN is not on the card. Well not on mine anyway. It's only viewable on the website after logging in.

So after my slightly ranty post yesterday, what happened to pop through the letter box today but a nice shiny orange Esso card! laughing

Registering the card seems to have gone fine, and there are no hints of the new PIN embossed on the face of the card (but spookily it is an anagram of the old one - putting that down to coincidence!)

Next step is to actually try a fill-up and see if the card is accepted....

(and consider whether to change my payment card details to a credit card - one step at a time)

Thanks for the info. very useful. I've just Deleted User my debit and replaced it with a credit card on the PK site. Far better for me and how it should have been from day one.

    Hi everyone,

In the event that the Esso forecourt price is cheaper than the Pump King price, please retain your receipt and email a copy to customer.service@pump-king.co.uk. Pump King will credit you 1p per litre to your account.

    Thanks Rowena.

So just to be clear, we should

    • Check the pump price against the PK price.
    • If the PK price is cheaper, pay using the PK card.
    • If the pump price is cheaper, pay by some other means and reclaim the 1p for litre by scanning the receipt and sending it in.

Thank you for the update, but do not understand why this should be necessary as the price is reflected on the Pump King website so they would be aware if cost was lower.

In addition, would this still apply if you purchased fuel on the continent as per the letter they sent with the replacement card?

Lastly as we signed up in late November do those T&Cs still aply as we have not been notified of updated T&Cs?

Whilst many of us appear to have 75% of our pin numbers embossed onto our card there are also a few who claim their number is NOT on their card. If this is the case, have PK realised the error of their ways and supplied later cards without the number? I think those of us with the number on their cards should be supplied with a replacement card.

We all know that we will get no response from PK so perhaps Laura or Rowena will come to our rescue or is that asking too much?

Got my fiver a few weeks ago but was not put into my "pump-king" account and was paid straight into my bank account. Keep checking your bank account as they don't tell you that they have deposited the money.

Whether I decide to use it or not is to be seen but it would be nice to actually receive one of these cards. I've been waiting since 6th December and have not had either the first card or the replacement despite account confirmation and emails and texts to say that the card is on it's way. Reporting the lack of card by email is met by silence. I'd be a fool to use the card if it does arrive based upon this performance. It has been administered by a complete shower!

    +1 exactly!

The automated response to the "replacement card" e-mail number 2 comes from zendesk.com. So there is another finger already in the pie.

Assuming that there are 300,000ish cards issued to club members, then isn't it something like a 1/500 chance that 3 sequential digits on the card will match up with 3 sequential digits in the pin that you are given (assuming that the pin is randomly generated). So, we could expect there to be 600 cards out there where 3 digits are shown, and also about 30 cards where there is an exact match. Of course, my maths might be completely wrong!

Certainly my pin doesn't match 3 digits on the card.

Having said that, it should be possible to change the PIN number!
