yup had exactly same situation, but my card has arrived and i have used it. If you have'nt already done so, register on the Esso Card web site and check out your profile, you should see a card number and a pin, i was told this def indicates all is well and your card should arrive via regular mail. I was told that there were over 9,000 applications, much more than anticipated and that they were just not geared up for such a big response.

I am in the same boat. Originally ordered on 22 November than again on 10 December (after the phone call from the CAMC). Still no card so phoned Esso yesterday morning. The guy was apologetic and said that there were 10000 cards still at the printers and would be sent out at a rate of 1000 per day - so another 10 days for some!

Then the text later in the afternoon says that all the backlogged orders have been processed and will be delivered "in the next few days". Who do I believe?

yes it has been shambolic, you should also be asking the question as to who will honour the below part of the deal undecided

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel! Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw. Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

I am still waiting for my card which was ordered on 1st December. So I hope the club and Esso do honour this offer and extend it to the end of January.

A difficult one IBH. That may be a solution but might start a stampede of another 9000 applications, then we're back to square one!laughing

Thought I would use my Esso card for the first time today to fill up my wife's car which uses super unleaded fuel,by the way as yet I have not had any notification by text or email about prices yet, so I went into my local esso station filled up the tank with £45 worth of fuel, expecting some guaranteed discount but ended up paying £45!! So what happened? I have sent an email to esso about this we'll see what they have to say hmmmm!! Think I might cut this card up.

Even I who have no card know that’s how it works. Your till receipt shows the full amount but the discounted amount is taken from your bank account.

Read some of the threads and posts!

Like Goldie, I don't have an Esso card but I would think that as long as you used the Esso card for payment and not a Switch / Credit Card you'll be fine.

I believe it takes around 6 working days for the payment to show on your bank statement.

I've only gleaned this information from this thread! So don't cut it up just yetwink

I've used my debit card on a Friday night to withdraw some money but didn't show on account till Monday. Some think everything should be instant.

Ok I won't cut it up yet😆 now I know how it works that's OK but I haven't as yet read anything that says the discount is taken like this. Good job I didn't go back in and have a go at the cashier 😂

That is to be expected as it is the norm however 7 days for the amount to be deducted is a bit long.  On our last refill it took 11 days for the amount to be deducted.  All the other transactions made on the same day were taken off within 2 days.

On the strength of the ‘extended period of an interest free loan’ I think I’ll sign up, Asda have my money from my account within 2 days, Esso up to 11 days apparently. I’m in👍🏻

On the basis of the shenannigans going on on the Esso card VAT thread, I think I will just keep buying Petrol from my local Asda at 114.9p a litre.  No special card, no texts, no invoices, no bother.....

Some people do like to make life complicated.....

........some people don't have a local Asda, but do have a local Esso

Having said that a quick calculation based on having used approx 1000 litres of Esso diesel last year the total saving would have been £1 a week....foot-in-mouth

Our nearest Asda is 50 miles away frown

Cheapest Diesel locally this week is £1.29

Essocard diesel this week is £1.19

I see that as fairly simple rather than complicated.... wink

I haven't a clue what my nearest garage charge, I just fill up and pay, now there's simplicity.

Even more simple is our local garage with a huge forecourt and a HGV pump. So handy for filling the MH and well worth giving the business to. He charges around 1p more than Tesco but I’m really happy to support the local man.

Still waiting for my card which was ordered on 1st December! I have sent 3 emails with only automated replies telling me someone will contact me shortly!

I phoned them today and a very nice guy told me they had a backlog of 20,000 waiting to be dealt with! But they hoped to get them out as soon as possible. I asked about the competition to win fuel and was told it is being extended to the end of January.

I don't think they expected so many applications and they have been overwhelmed!

Keep receiving a text from Esso stating the price of fuel for the following week but still waiting for my card after many weeks waiting. Very poor service , will stick with asda , Sainsbury's, morrisons fuel as far better prices and service

Filled up on Friday at our local Esso station to test the service.   Pump showing 126.9 per litre - fuel card 119.9.   Watching to see how much I will be charged and how long it takes.

Still waiting for mine too and i applied at the end of November!

Been receiving the fuel prices for about 4 weeks now.

Emailed Essocard last Saturday to complain. This was the reply I received on Sunday:

We have had some delay in receiving a large outstanding backlog of cards from the specialist card manufacturer that prints the individual cards with members details on them. They had promised us the cards by Friday last week and it was on this basis that the message was sent out in the fuel update text, but in the event only part shipment was sent to us, and there were still some 20,000 cards outstanding.

We have been receiving more cards in the last week and we have already dispatched several thousand to customers over the last few days and will be sending the others as soon as they are received.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

So still a lot outstanding or is this the standard fob off.  Sounds like it is out of Essocards hands. I'll give it a couple of days before i ring them direct.

    Tony
