I think the club should be putting a post out on all their social media and on website to alert members using this Esso card to check their accounts for double charging  as I bet a lot of people wont even notice if they have been.

bet the club wont do anything though

maybe someone could report this post so it gets their attention

I’m sorry to hear so many of you are having problems but, at the risk of sounding smug, I’m sooo glad I decided this ‘offer’ was one I could refuse.

I hope you all get sorted soon.

I too have been double charged.  Received an invoice yesterday for a transaction on 5 December which had already been invoiced and paid.  Date, time, amount of fuel and cost were identical so clearly something wrong with their systems.  Next email will be to pumpking!

The worry now is that this time, we are at home, so we have phone and internet to contact pumpking and sort out the problem....

Next time, if it happens again, or is it when it happens again, we could easily be in the wilds of Scotland or somewhere with neither internet nor a mobile signal.. If anyone's bank a/c goes into the red and charges are incurred, due to their error, who pays for that ?

I for one am considering cancelling the card once this little glitch is resolved.. Shame really , but it just doesn't seem very robust.... undecided

Iv'e just been double charged by Pump-King. Charged £41:95, which is for, already paid, invoices 1 and 3 added together. No phone line till Monday, so I have cancelled my card for the second time because of this shamble.

These latest developments about double charging are very worrying. I was just on the verge of applying for an Esso Card but think I will hang back a bit and see what happens.

The club needs to get on top of this with the utmost urgency and come back to the members with hard, plain facts, not the usual diplomatic drivel they come out with when members are up in arms about something!

Applied for mine on the 6th December. Still waiting .After reading this lot I think it can go in the bin. If you're buying supermarket fuel the saving is only going tobe minimal. It's not worth the  trouble.

Still waiting for my card, applied 6th December. Get enticing promises of low pump price every week, but no card. Response from PK fuels is that their card supplier promised that all the outstanding cards would arrive with them by Christmas, but they were a few thousand short. Looking at the doubling billing issue, glad it has not arrived yet!

CAMC should get be taking PK fuels to task for poor supply problems and double billing

i think I will look to source an Esso card through another supplier

    😱😱😱

    Nothing's foolproof

    😱😱😱😱😱

Were they hoping no one would notice? Hoping that most folk dont look at bank transactions, balances statements? Why not send out a warning email explaining situation and that money will be returned?

So glad I decided it would be any use to us.

I agree KBV to a certain point. Supermarket prices in my area are in the 123.7 - 125.9ppl bracket at the moment so perhaps a bit of a saving with Esso but not much.

Where I think this card will come into its own will be in the more remote parts of the country were supermarket filling stations might not be such a common site. That's of course assuming there is an Esso station handy!

Am watching Justus2's refund message with interest. Would you keep us up to date please?

I emailed them around 2pm Sunday - had a reply a couple of hours later in the same vein.

Looks like they've got people doing a bit of overtime.

However they completely ignored my umpteenth request for price texts in the same email.......

Just checked my tinternet banking and neither the unauthorised overcharge amount nor any refund has appeared as yet.

When I have used the essocard before, it normally goes something like, day 1 buy fuel, day 3 get email notifying amount and day 5 money comes from current account.

It was infact the day 3 get email, which highlighted the error as I had not used the card a few days prior so initially thought my card had been wrongly charged for someone else's fuel. It wasn't till I noticed the amount was exactly the same as all my previous fuel purchased that I thought double charged. Naturally it had to be a Friday evening when this error occurred and Pumpking were shut for the w/e, but I have since had a reply to my email query so someone is working extra to sort things out... Good..

    Not used the card for two weeks and then filled up last Wednesday.  The funds have been available in my current account so no issue there!  This morning I got this in my inbox;

    Hi everyone,

Due to an admin error a small number of people with My Esso Cards have experienced duplicate payments. As soon as the issue was identified, refunds were issued (these might take up to three days to clear).  Pump King, the operators of My Esso Card have found the cause of the issue and resolved the problem.

We are working closely with PK Fuel Limited and Esso to ensure this does not happen again.

Ours is a not a duplicate payment, but a threat of £10 being added as an admin fee plus the threat of debt collectors.  Not a nice email to get first thing on a Monday afternoon.

On contacting them I am told to email as it is quicker.  They have not replied to the last email sent three weeks ago!

I also ran a company check on PK Fuel Limited and it seems to be a very new company formed last year in April and has no assets. It does not even have a company secretary?   I rather forego the savings to avoid the stress of various threats and dump the card and og back to using BP at a higher cost!

I have just this morning received an Email from Esso asking for clarification of who i applied via ,for the card that was delivered to me, in reply to my query as to why my profile will not accept the card number or why i do not receive texts for prices ,surprised so there must be other methods of getting one

I have sent a reply that it was via CAMC "offer as i can only find my way in via that

Yet another worrying development Surfer. PK Fuel Ltd don't seem to have a grip on what they are doing.

It may make matters more complicated but I think Esso should be having a long hard look at employing such a company to handle the admin of this scheme, and perhaps move their business elsewhere. Of course, it is possible that PK Fuel Ltd may have been set up by Esso or some of its directors in which case.....well!surprised

Anyway, this latest episode has made up my mind. Reluctantly I've decided not to apply for the Esso card, at least not while PK Fuel is running it. Pity really as I think some good savings could be had, particularly in rural areas, but the hassle and risk doesn't seem worth it.

I originally ordered the card on 22 November and then again as requested by the club on 10 December.

    Still no card!

I phoned on Friday to see if it had been sent out but got lost and was given the "standard" reply of so many people took up the offer they couldn't cope and that the "we have processed them all" message was sent in error (twice!).

I was promised that no cards had been returned as misdelivered and that my card would arrive within days. Shame he didn't say how many days are meant by within days.

Can't the club do something to sort this out once and for all - it doesn't reflect well on anyone involved with this scheme?

Unfortunately I do not respond to threats very well and getting an email first thing in the morning with a minimum of at least three threats does make to a good relationship i.e. close account, £10 admin fee and debt collectors!

It is now very worrying that they have my debit card details to deduct any amount they please from the card.  If I close the account I am wondering how long it would be before all my details are removed from the system.

As the company has zero assets I think I will get the bank to give me a new debit card with a different number just in case!

An issue that made me wary from the beginning.

The whole thing is, at best, a farce.
